  • the beauty of Tampa pro and Tampa am is... you con cruise through on any day the week leading up to it. You'll witness magic, rub shoulders with the pros, all the events and the skate parks around town. The Brick in Ybor every night that week... seriously anyone can see Old an d New Rippers. chill chat have a beer, or a taco with all these dudes. I literally stood next to Vincent Alveres shooting the shit during semis not realizing it was him till i saw him skating during the brake... Got some spitfire classics off Jason Jessee randomly with the SC crew in the parking lot for free, Was then talking to Pat Duffy about still skating rails whe he was a youngin... and how he appreciates a lil transition these days... we laugh about bad backs being old and shit... the Brow Bowl had some heavy shit going down. all weekend a bunch of older dudes just ripping there... at the brick after the finals was like an issue of thrasher in real life. I walked in and i was tripping... after i calmed down and stopped being a kook i found myself with a stiff drink on the back patio. just leaning a little. then some skinny sweaty kid looks at me and said hey OG you want to hit this and hands me a spliff.... don't mind if i do... Thanks for that by the way T. Puds... Made out with a Milf with big boobs... Woke up in my rental car hung over in in the parking garage to a beautiful Brisk Tampa Sunrise... and thats only one time i went... they have all been an epic experience! Thank you SPOT for holding down!!!! Realest contest in skateboarding! the Tampa Am is just as epic. Hop to get beck east for the next one.

  • Hey you guys, if you didn’t watch live then you don’t really get it! That gap to rail is way bigger than it looks from this camera angle, and throughout the weekend noone else flipped the gap onto the rail, except Angelo Caro in the best trick. So that is like hectic shit where you actually can get seriously hurt. That’s what separated his run from Shane’s. And also, this run was his first run. He tried to up it but fell on the kickflip back lip. The case was that the competition was so much behind, he could easily win it with this run. Basically everybody else fell all the time. It was just Shane who could do a perfect run. It felt like everybody had a bad day skating the contest.

  • MANNNN, Nyjah is the reason everyone is a pro skateboarder. If there wasn't 1 skater that knew how to monetize the sport/art, then skateboarding would have less than 100,000 ppl who love it. We NEED more Nyjahs!

    • @KVNG JAY noone is saying he's not rich, the original poster was talking like nyjah is the first guy to learn how to make money skating, nyjah is rich because he's at the top of the money makers in a system he didn't create. I'm not taking away from what he's done but credit were credit is due.

      @hikebot@hikebot4 жыл бұрын
    • He may not be the first guy to make money doing it but he is definitely the first to win a fuck ton of money by winning contests and still going out and hitting the streets and going huge. You can think what you want about the dude but his skating speaks for itself. Dude isn't a huge inspiration to me either as my favorite skater would have to be Arto Sarri. I'm just giving the dude props because he is majorly consistent at winning. People hate winners I guess. Disclaimer*: I'm much more into pure street skating and am not a fan of contests all that much. Just giving my outlook on things.

    • I don’t know man, I mean I love Shane, and while I’d agree Shane’s run was more technical, he kinda played it safe, skated most of the small stuff, and his whole run was pretty much in that one area of the park, maybe the judges wanted more usage of the entire venue and gave it to Nyjah for his massive kickflip back lip

  • There’s no doubt that he is one of the best skaters of all time....but he seldom skates switch in contests and still scores so high, folks like P Rod, O’Neill and others lay down so much switch and I actually think is where Nyjah could improve, should he ever need to.

    @naylor2006@naylor20063 жыл бұрын
    • He doesn’t really skate switch or nollie in a run, probably cause he’s not as confident/consistent, which is why P-Rod and Shane rarely have perfect runs, granted their runs are usually harder technically, but he’s been throwing it out more on the big sections like nollie heel nose blunt or switch heel front tail
