Had not seen this video as a regular follower for 2 years but I’m always amazed how you transformed this little piece of land into a tropical paradise. I watch a lot of KZhead channels studying tropical gardens and I still feel yours is the best and I constantly look at it to try and incorporate the look into mine. I live in panhandle of northwest Florida and nobody here has anything that looks like yours. Keep up the great work and allowing us to peek in on your special world from time to time
I'm a beginning woodworker and found this book kzhead.infoUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ gives useful advice on different types of tools & their usage, types of bits, safety etc. So when i do start to buy tools and bits, i basically know what to look for, how to use them & the types of woods certain bits are recommended to use on.

Am I the only one surprise with how packed the planters are and that they mixed mint with other plants ?
what's wrong with mint? Doesn't it keep bugs away that would eat the other plants?
@@jacijune mint will suffocate the other plants roots and spread all over the pot.
@@Nassie54 yes. I planted mint in a small pot first. Now I had to replant it in a bigger pot. The Roots are very invasive Edit: mint

I'm in Florida/USA, very humid and hot 3/4 of the year. I like your program more than any US programs. All of the improvements are things any family can afford and accomplish. Your lumber is cut MUCH wider than here. It looks like your 2"x4" boarda are actually that size. Ours are a good 1/2" narrower. Love this.

Wow, just paved the whole thing. It's the complete opposite of what we should be trying to do, which is rewilding and attracting wild life to our gardens...
with small children or pets, a postage stamp sized yard next to a busy road is not the place to attract wildlife to.
@@cmnr8487 and its Australia, we had funnel Web spiders in our lawn one year, and snakes ate the chickens
I agree. Very expensive and labour intensive. Where will the kids play? and .there is still wild life in the burbs.

When level the backyard they raised the ground so there’s even less privacy now than before.

LOL totally agree! Would have been better if they lowered the high spots. Plus did you catch how they laid the grass on the road base instead of on soil? Good luck getting that to stay nice looking.

Umm-since there's a deck, why the concrete slab in the yard? More grass equals more area for the kids to play, or have a little garden space.

My thoughts exactly- the backyard needed a bit of a touch up and they remodeled it to be non functional for at least half the family
@@kaitzi the kids can do chalk drawings on it, or jump rope or hopscotch, or building blocks, or a dozen other things.

Just looked up waterhousia, apparently it can grow to 30 meters?! Regular trimming for those trees would be important. Also what about the root system?

I have to say this was an improvement, but what about the existing clothesline, that seems to be forgotten about.

I liked most of it except the mess of the lines of where the turf meets the patio slabs the color of the decking is blah a nice large colorful rug on the deck would bring some needed pops of color also, why only a table for two when there are 4 people in the family?
curious how those trees settled, straight from the pot into the hole like that... also, is it telling that someone jokes 'relax and get away from the kids' - because this makeover seems less kid friendly than the original yard; but we all have opinions, and these folks are paid for theirs, unlike me...
Many people live within walking distance of a play ground and their kids spend all day at school and then go to sports practice. So kids get plenty of time outdoors and don't really need alot in their backyard. The deck is plenty big enough for them to bring toys out and play.
Great job, but really? There is no way those 2 young parents would be able to do that extensive revamp in a few hours over 2 weekends! Good cinema, though...who doesn't like before/after gardening shows?
