Desk Depth is number 1 by far. Definitely agree! It seems like most companies just completely forget about this.
I’ve ordered a desk long ago. Its depth is 90cm. A bit too much space. But very comfortable.
Don’t think they forget as much as they try to avoid. Deeper desks are more expensive to purchase and require more office space so it makes the office space more expensive for the same amount of people with smaller desks.
I got my desk custom build and it is 5 feet wide but the depth is only 1.6 feet and now I regret a lot as my monitor takes all the space.😢
I decreased my desk depth from 29 to 24 inches. I was just always leaning forward to be closer to my screen, it was pointless.
@@sh0rtaznantexactly what I was thinking
As a physical therapist who treats MANY people for chronic neck pain (typically due to their poor posture and setup at a desk all day), I greatly appreciate this video.
may I ask what is the best desk height compared to my body so that I could sit comfortably? I've heard that I should have one which I can have my shoulder-elbow-hand almost at 90°, is that the correct way to determine the height of fixed desk? I also need to draw too so does the desk needs to be higher?
@@hoangthivu8451 Depends on if you’re at a sitting vs standing desk or a hybrid. Sitting: Angle between upper arm and forearm 70 deg to 135°; angle between torso and thigh 90 to at least 100°; angle between the upper and lower leg at 60-100°; feet flat on the floor Standing desk doing precision work: work surface height should be 2-4” above elbow height
This video is outstandingly produced. Like a mini documentary. I bet you're proud of it and you have every right to.
Thank you! Also can see you've been subscribed for 7 years. OG subscriber right here.
They generally end sentences with prepositions in German? =P be einig *agreed
I've learned the desk depth thing really early since I like to have everything mounted onto my desk, this is because I have to move my setup every like 2-3 months idk why but if I don't I feel wrong. I've found the best depth for me is 30in and to use a pad that can easily slide so when I need to write I can move all my peripherals forward.
i like this video, very informative and yr voice isn't hyper like most youtuber, thank you.
As someone who is starting a new work from home job, this is very valuable to get an understanding of the main essentials needed for an at home office/desk setup. Thank you!
The Logitech K380 keyboard is an amazing budget alternative for the ones shown in the video. It costs approximately $40 and fulfills all the needs for a minimal and highly functional desktop. The construction is good, with excellent adherence, and the key resistance is just perfect. For desktop audio in my country (Chile), there are very few alternatives under $100 with good overall quality. I have found that only Logitech offers a good option in those price ranges, including a subwoofer. I have been using the Logitech Z211 for about 10 years now, and they are simply fantastic for their cost (like $30 or so). It's a consistently solid product, and I don't doubt that the newer models are as well.
Very very good video! your voice and way of explaining stuff is really good!
It’s ironic ergonomics is the biggest point of this video but you prefer the mouse most famously known as not ergonomic and poorly designed lol
Gotta look stylish lol
Hey Oliur, fantastic video with lots of tips that I will gladly execute on my own desk setup which I'm about to plan =) Curious what make and model the combined charging station for AirPods + watch is? Cheers!

Excellent advice! Thanks and keep it up 👍👍
If you work from home, even if just a couple days a week, splashing out on an ergonomic chair is a must. I started having a nerve issue in my upper back so my employer got me a better chair where you can adjust *everything* and it made me realise how bad my chair at home is for my back.
Amazing video, so helpful. Thanks mate!
I need a laptop fan to assist in cooling as where I live it often gets to over 100F during the summer and it can be 85F inside on those days without A/C use.
Your videos are 10/10, editing, presentation, your studio, your talking 👍🔥💯
Video so good, thanks for the hard work Sr.
Your point about the chair is really important. I too have an Aeron, but have had the same one since 1997. I have put in tens of thousands of hours sitting in this chair and while I needed to replace the hydraulic cylinder once (over 20 years into my ownership!) it has been the perfect chair. It is expensive, but spread that cost over 10-20, maybe 30 years and it's actually a bargain.
I cannot stand those chairs. I consider mine superior and at less than half the price.
@@JohnnyZenithchairs are obviously a personal thing. Even a very adjustable chair wont be for everyone. Which one do you have?
Am obsessed with optimum setups for productivity too! Have you tried the salli saddle chair? It's supposed to be great for your back and eliminate all traditional sitting problems.
Hello! Sorry in advance for the novel.. This is a great chunk of information! I have been researching docks for a while, I do similar work to you and have similar equipment, Mac most everything, macbook pro- exception is my monitors. I have two 27" for the same as someone mentioned below- 3D modeling is not fun on just one. What specific model dock do you recommend? Is yours from ANKER? My 27's are QHD 4K. Thank you muchly and please keep the amazing vlogs of helpful info coming! :)
Hello Oliur, Wondering about your webcam setup? It looks you have it behind the display?
i am glad to see that i am not the only one obsessed with this setups / wallpapers / etc
Hey, which desk shelf are you using on this setup? Grovemade?
Nice tips, really elegant setup! I like to have Kinnarps chair, it is robust and lasts 20 to 40 years without breaking. Also some support on the floor to lift your feet up 10-20cm so that your pose will push your lower back against your chair's back. Once you'll try it can't do without. But having using multiple mouses, the apple mouse is just most unergonomic ones, how can you use that?
When you bought the desk top, did you have to drill your own holes to fasten it to the legs?
Wall papers are super important for me as well:D, I personally think the monitors are another forms of window that placed into the room to see other side of worlds. So its worth to keep refreshing myself from there.
Damn bro! Can really see those gains now! 💪🏽 Good work and great video as well
Would agree with the gaming chair comment save for secret labs. I think their Titan chair looks good and is also fairly ergonomic.
I bought a mesh chair after trying my brother in laws for a day and my cousins titan for the same. The titan looked cool and like it should be super comfortable but the mesh honestly felt just as cushioned to me as the literal cushions to my suprise and Its got far more breathability for my sweaty body haha, way cheaper as well, the titans are super expensive and I got a nice mesh chair for a hundo, why tf someone would spend a grand for a branded piece of mesh is beyond me
My partner and I both have Herman miller chairs now as we work from home most days. Don't underestimate the secondhand market! Liquidators and FB marketplace can be a great place to get a used Herman miller chair for around half the price (sometimes a third) if you can go test it. I also really like having a foot rocker under my desk too, I have the human scale one.
I also have a pait of those BOSE. Best PC speakers ever, but I do need to drive it with an external DAC to get the best out of them.
Awesome video! Where is the print of the airplane interior [timestamp @1:30] from?
Can't thank you enough for your thoughts!
It helps the Magic Keyboard matches the keyboard of the MacBook Pro. I’ve always found that familiar when going disconnected.
4:00 oh 100% too 😂, I have gone back to one monitor and then my laptop display - that’s it.
Great stuff, but are you sure about the Ikea Markus chair ? I have one at my workplace and find it to be horrible for lack of lumbar support, always end the day with back pain 😅
yo how did you get that spotify now playing icon thing on the bottom left of your mac screen
What are those portable tube lights you have on your desk and side area?
Thank you for your desk setup review. I like your setup. Please provide a link to your desk shelf.
My bad! Just updated the description to add it!
No worries, thank you.
Hi Oliur, Quick question: In the video, you're using an Apple Watch Ultra band that looks really good. Could you please do a review on it?
2:50 I’ve been using Aeron for past 5 years and still in good shape. I feel fairly comfortable sitting for 8 hours with every hour just getting up from the Aeron just to get body moving. It’s worth investment. Premium price but the quality and comfort speak for itself.
definately is not worth the price thats total cope, its mesh, you can buy something with the same economics and comparatively functional materials for a fraction of that price.
To be fair if you enjoy the chair, like its asthetic and can afford the cost then that's a totally justified choice. But its like saying armani is worth the price for practicality. It isn't.
Thank you for your input on the value of the Herman Miller Aeron chair. It’s important to consider different viewpoints, but I’d like to offer some additional perspective based on my personal experience and broader considerations of value and quality. Firstly, assessing the worth of a product like the Herman Miller Aeron chair goes beyond its material components. The chair’s design, ergonomics, and durability are paramount. In my experience, having used various chairs including those from Ergotune, Secret Lab, IKEA, and Amazon, none have matched the Aeron’s longevity and comfort. It’s been a reliable fixture in my workspace for over five years, outlasting its predecessors significantly. Regarding your comparison to Armani and practicality, I understand your point but believe a more fitting comparison might be with high-quality tools or equipment. For instance, professional chefs invest in premium knives not just for the brand but for the reliable performance, durability, and efficiency they offer. In a similar vein, the Aeron chair is an investment in comfort, health (particularly in maintaining posture), and productivity for those of us who spend extensive hours seated. It’s also worth considering the long-term cost-effectiveness. While the upfront cost is higher, the Aeron’s durability means fewer replacements and repairs, ultimately offering better value over time. It’s a classic example of ‘you get what you pay for.’ In conclusion, while I respect your perspective, my experiences and the sustained benefits I’ve derived from the Herman Miller Aeron chair strongly support its value. It’s a practical, long-term investment in workplace comfort and health. If one prefers to opt for a more budget-friendly chair, that’s a personal choice. However, for me, the quality, comfort, and durability of the Aeron chair justify its price, proving to be economical in the long run.

@@andrewswebpage making lame comment with no benefits to readers are worthless.
This is such great advice. You only need one monitor and splurge on the chair not the desk(brand).
Great video. What is your monitor size?
super nice video man
keeping space between your arm and keyboard is life changing suggestion
I also find that monitor height is important. I use a standing desk (not adjustable, sadly), and like to look forward, not down, as would be the case if the monitor is on its supplied stand (I'm using an iMac), so I have the monitor raised by 10-15cm. You don't appear to have your monitor on your very pretty desk shelf.
Finally somebody talking about the desk deepness
Hey Bro, How do you organize your Media Files and in your desktop/ mac ? I have overwhemled with downloading resources and my office files and personal. Please Advise !
Fantastic video. I love the points made, the pacing, and the production quality. 🔥
I really want to go back to one monitor, but it's torture to work on 3D apps that way. Also, the quality of your content is incredible. Great work.
⌨️🖱️Great setup and recommendations. For the keyboard and mouse, however, I would convert to wired devices. The jury is still out on the health and safety of Bluetooth - and why have more things to charge?
What monitor Arm brand is that? Looks very unique!
I have just had uncomfortable trapezius muscle pain and don't know why, huge thanks.
Do you have a more affordable option for the Apple Studio Display?
Looooove the floating monitor!
Güzel video, teşekkürler.
Is having your monitor against a bright backdrop like that window distracting for you? I thought the typical lighting practices were for ambient light to be between your monitor brightness and the background to reduce eye strain.
That is just a light for the video. That window is actually a window into my warehouse.
Dude, this video rocks
Great video!
Yup 80cm depth seems líke the sweet spot especially if you use Monitors with 27 inch and above. This is also better for your eyes.
Could you tell me what specific frame are you using as i actually looking for exactly same size desk please. Link shows general amazon few different frames
I've had my Harmon Kardon 2.1 speakers since 2001. They just sound great still.
Thank You Oliur. I didn't know they were called the trapezius muscles, nor the main reason for them being sore was right in front of me (and underneath). Gotta fix these areas ASAP.
Same here

FINALLY!! Somebody who recognizes the importance of Desk Depth!!!!! It's an absolute bummer that it's almost impossible to find a good affordable desk with nice deep depth. It's sad
Ikea sells manually adjustable 160x80 cm desks for pretty damn cheap
Do you have the link to the light that is sitting on your desk on the right side.
When he mention desk depth i automatically hit the like button.
what's the camera you're using and what lense if I may ask, thank you.
i was legit wondering why my trapezius muscles were aching! wooowww! thanks man.
This video came at the right time. I’ve been having upper trap pain and I never would have thought it could be from neglecting my arm rests.
glad to see you all healthy my friend!
Great video, again.
1. Bose speakers are not very good. 2. Glad you mentioned actual mechanical keyboards like the Nuphy because the Apple Magic Keyboard is just atrocious. 3. Apart from the mouse models you mentioned, I recommend giving a trackball a try. For me that was a game changer for my wrist issues. 4. Herman Miller Aeron is great, Embody Gaming may even be greater, YMMV.
What are those cylinder lights you had on the desk?!
Brilliant
Clean
One upgrade that your desk setup might benefit from is a minimal pencil drawer that goes underneath your desk. It's very cheap and will help put away small things such as SD cards or remotes that would otherwise clutter your desk. Other than that you have an awesome setup. Great vid!
I actually always need access to them. So prefer to have them in front of me.
Dang bro you gonna take that?
make sure it doesnt interfere with your chair arm as most chair arm almost touches the bottom of the table
What lights do you use?
Hey bud, where's the green wallpaper from? Can't find it in any of your packs.
From the space collection pack.
What’s the drawer unit you use called ?
What is the recommended monitor height?
What about cable management?😊
Opal C1 over the Insta360 Link? Surprised, as the reviews weren't that great for the Opal.
Do you have a link for the chair?
I just purchased a Haworth Fern Executive. I had to add an aftermarket pillow to fill the void behind my neck. I wish the seat would a tilt adjustment for not just forward, but to the rear to have gravity pull my butt into position in a more locked fashion.
What mic do you use?
which size of monitor should i buy ? 27" or 32" ?
What cable are you using for connecting your macbook with external monitor?
The thunderbolt cable provided with the monitor.
Sorry, what Apple Watch Ultra band is that?
What is that black bookshelf behind you at 5:30?
I just found your channel. I love love LOVE the look dawg. Very nice 👏. Was hopping to know what light bar that is off to the side however. Looks neat.
Im thinking about changing back from a 34 wide screen to a 4k 27 inch or 32 inch monitor. I feel that to much screen real estate is counter productive. You can focus on 1 window anyway. So it's cool to be able to have 2 windows side by side but that's it
Would you suggest getting a webcam/mic combo? I have multiple Zoom calls each week and would rather avoid using a headset with a microphone as it can look unprofessional at times. I’d be grateful for any suggestions!
Hi Oliur! Do you think connect the Macbook to the monitor will affect the battery health? Thank you for your answer!
2:00 I genuinly thought this was a monochromatic/black&white shot until I saw the plant in the back xD
Love the aesthetics
I bought a padded chair with armrests at a charity shop for £5.00. I've been using it for over two years. The shop always has chairs, but I needed to visit three times before I found the right one.
bracelet for the Ultra?
Desk depth is everything. I have a 26” deep desk and any monitor larger than 27” gives my headaches when using it for anything other than watching videos and movies. I’m fine with this for now since my room is small and a small desk and small monitor is a good fit
as a long term user of the IKEA MARKUS chair, I do not recommend it as the chair quickly loses its comfortability and the joints become quite squeaky over time. also the point where the seating part attaches to the wheels is quite weak and will wiggle itself out so that you feel like you're sitting on a pillow that on top of a rock which is not a great experience. also the screws come loose quite quickly PS: I've had the chair for almost 4 years straight and it has been shit for like 2 years
Another fan of the apple mouse here, never understood the pure hate for it 😂
Does anyone have a link for the second “cheaper” chair? I found the IKEA Markus.
great video, but what're those comfy pants you are wearing?
Zara!
