The fact that magma cubes can swim better than slimes is just insane
That’s why magma cubes are more annoying than slimes and: - They jump much higher - Baby Magna Cubes can also hurt you - Immune to lava - Don’t only appear where the ground is flat But, they are very easy to deal with with a Multishot crossbow.

The blaze powder for potions reasoning was quite weird. You could find brewing stands in Village Stone Towers anyways but you would still need to go to the nether for Nether Wart no matter where you find it.
you can still make weakness potions without an awkward potion, and that is one of the most important ones as it allows you to cure villagers, so I understand the reasoning
Feel like the creeper check code could be fixed by just making the creeper ignition send a movement command to nearby mobs to run.
But the other mobs would have to check whether there is some "movement command" sent to them or not to start running. You basically described the initial problem ;)
@@DadicekCz by that logic its like every block has to check if it is currently being broken so the whole game is unplayable because millions of blocks contribute to lag
@CHECKERCE blocks aren't mobs so that doesn't make sense.
Game programmer here! @talinpeacy7222 is absolutely right here. The specific term for it is an event, and java in particular has built-in support for it
checkerce is right, The initial mob running from creeper code checks for an ingition creeper every tick, however, loops are different than events, and events are more optimized than loops, a "movement command" would be an event, not a loop. Everyone knows minecraft isn't good at optimization, cause alot more couldve been optimized about the game, for example, render distance@@thekingofnothing8895
I actually discovered a glitch in Bedrock Edition (not sure if it’s still there or if it works on Java though). The glitch was that if you placed two smooth sandstone slabs on top of each other to create a full block, they are slightly darker than a normal smooth sandstone block! I tried to use this to make it look a little more worn down or eroded.

I just found out that since item frames are entities in spectator I can spectate them as if with any other mob. Its a cool little thing.
I learned that item frames (and paintings too) are entities when I tried to use console commands to remove a crap ton of mobs from around a boat I was decorating. I had to replace about 20 of each…twice…

My guess for the netherite ore, is that piglins used up all of the nether's netherite and has now had to deal with the consequences and go to gold and ancient debris is the old, worn-down scraps from their old tools and builds. I guess this could go into some deeper lore; can piglins craft?

I remember 39:00 being in (or something similar) the old mobile version of Minecraft. You could build to the built limit and, even though there wasn't any more world, you could walk on nothing. You could walk on these blocks for however long you wanted but you couldn't place anything on them.

Here is another one - you probably knew (if you're a Java player) that chests turn into presents between the 24th and 26th of December, however, chests and trapped chests look exactly identical during this time - you don't see the red tint around the lock.

I’m surprised they haven’t done a pirate mob, since they have the sunken ships but have not explained their existence. That and it would be cool to have sea-faring mansions that you as the player could explore.

The creeper check could be coded so the creeper when counting down could alert nearby mobs every so many ticks.
My favorite old bedrock glitch was when you were smelting something w coal and you had charcoal, you could just move the charcoal where the coal was and it’d glitch, making it stack therefore making more coal. Which made me feel less broke when playing with friends lol I think it was probably 2016-2017 when this glitch last worked

While I get that "Effeciency 4 is good enough on a shovel" argument, I always get my enchantments from discounted villagers after a certain point in my games. So yeah, if you are rolling on an enchantment table, just stick with 4, but if I already went through the effort of getting a villager with a Efficiency 5 trade, I'm gonna use it on everything.
I think piglins thought that the gold was more rare because you get smaller quantities of it when mining in the nether and we all know how they like shiny or gold things so they most likely thought it was better. and my theory is supported by it saying that piglins mine all of the ORE of netherite so all thats left is the ancient debris that would give them a netherite ingot while the nether gold ore would only give them a nugget
I always thought they valued gold because it's used to refine netherite, and with all the original ore depleted the only resource they have left is the gold

I’m pretty sure invisible bedrock is what is at the bottom of the world in bedrock edition that keeps players from infinitely falling, so it’s still used to this day

I bought 2 woodland mansion maps in different updates, first one being a dud, the second one being in the middle of a giant ocean. I think the trick was the second time I levelled a random cartographer in a far off village rather than one at my base.

fun fact: in 1.18.2 the touch screen mode to store items in the crafting grid thing doesn't stop /clear from deleting your items meaning there's no reason for Mojang not to let you store things in there regularly (in fact, I heard that in older versions you actually could)

I’m a programmer and can actually elaborate on the squid having slower animations when it runs out of oxygen it’s actually very easy all you have to do is assign the oxygen a value equal to the time it’s been out of water and have the animation speed be equal to that value

I've made these test areas for horses where I could see how fast they ran or how high they jumped and then I bred the best of those and got a horse with the perfect stats!

Items staying in your crafting grid was a feature back in alpha. I don't think saplings got JABBA textures 6 days after saplings were added. There are even older gold and diamond block textures too.

4:32 why don't they make the creeper when it about to run its exploding methods, the creeper will shoot out some Raycast and any just try to detect if there are any non player entity nearby. Then execute the mob's run methods. I think that would be more efficient.
I just realized something with the charcoal-furnace trick, if you use 3 sticks, 3 logs and 1 charcoal, you are using 1 charcoal, 3 logs and 2 planks(2 planks make 4 sticks) which in turn = 4 logs(1 log = 4 planks). so there's no way to make a profit of of it.
