Repairing my malfunctioning Ingersoll Rand 2130 impact wrench by installing a new air inlet kit. My impact wrench suddenly started leaking air and spinning at a low RPM, even when I wasn't touching the trigger. See the links below for the parts and tools I used:

You gave me an idea. My Astro 1822 just started leaking from the exhaust. I stumbled upon your video after totally disassembling, cleaning and then reassembling the impact. Still it wasn't working. After watching your video, I took apart (again) the parts in the handle. Lo and behold, there is a trigger bushing in there and it had a nick in the seating surface. Knowing that the tool wasn't working properly and thinking "what have I got to lose", I removed the bushing and found the other seating surface in good condition. I flipped it over and reinserted the bushing in the handle. After reassembly and hooking to my compressor, It's fixed. Thank you for your video which caused my twisted mind to have an idea. Thanks again!!!
That's awesome, nothing beats a free fix! Thanks for the comment. :)
I Just today found two Impact Wrenches a neighbor had tossed in his trash can with multiple other tools, and they were in plain sight just calling out to me to save them from ending up in the County Landfill. Other than being dirty I have a feeling they work just fine, but it's good to know I can easily fix them if needed based on your excellent video.
Nice save! That's the great thing about air tools, no motor or circuitry so usually all you need are some cheap seals to get 'em working again. Thanks for watching!
How did your repair turn out???
@@williamdon3442 it works perfectly now. I just took the wrench apart and cleaned and oiled it. Seems to work just fine now. Thanks for asking. 👍😊
Thanks for the video! Worked like a champ.
That's great, thanks for the comment!

I'm glad the video was helpful, thanks for the comment!
@@Mikeattempts FYI if you want to buy an extra for next time, look on ebay. A guy has them for 12 dollars ea. I bought two because, frankly, that plastic bit looks weak. And we had the exact same failure. Id post the link but yt will take it down.
@@bunberrier Good info, thanks!
Thanks , that is what my wrench has.
Thanks for watching!
hello, I have a King Tony 040 impact wrench that has a leak in the air extractor on the handle, I would like to know what repair do I need to change to end the leak? King tony inside the handle just have a spring and a little valve
I'm definitely no pro when it comes to air impact wrenches, but my guess would be that the valve has a crack or a chunk of rubber missing. You could just get the same type of kit for your impact wrench that I used, and it would probably fix your issue.
Good vid hombre
Thanks for watching!
Are they all the same for impact wrenches I have one from NAPA and it recently started to leak air and I’m trying to throw a lift on my Jeep but it’s not loosening bolts cuz there isn’t much RPMS. Any help would be appreciated
I'm sure the design is very similar, but the parts are probably slightly different. You might be able to find a parts diagram for your exact model. If not, Google your NAPA impact wrench model number and try to find out who makes it. It's probably the same exact impact wrench made by a bigger company and rebranded for NAPA. Once you're able to know what model it is under the brand that manufactured it, then you should be able to find a parts diagram and find the exact part number you need for your impact wrench.
Feorch 2265, Ingersoll Rand 2100G made in Taiwan.
I'm not sure where my IR 2130 was made but I've owned it for probably around 12 years and this is the only repair I've ever needed to do.
@@Mikeattempts I repaired my feorch the same way and then realized it was identical to the Ingersoll Rand 2100G.
@@Professionaltools-eq9kk Ah, that's interesting. It's good to know this video could help people with other brands of impact wrenches.
@@Mikeattempts I am from Bulgaria, here in Europe feorh and wurth sell the same impact wrenches, the mechanisms and parts are interchangeable with those of Ingersoll Rand. I have filmed my impact wrenches on my channel.
Thanks for the video... can you please help me ? My 2235 has almos no power. Air just comes out the exhaust when pressing the triger . It is very weak Thanks!!:D
I'm no pro but I would guess that it either needs to be taken apart, cleaned, and re-greased or that it needs a new seal kit (or both). Either way, you won't know until you take it apart.
@Mike attempts got it fixed 👌 I got lucky lol
@@ZkReAr-fs5do That's great, what was the issue?
Look for a parts diagram for your specific model. My Astro 1822 was low on power and continuously leaking from the exhaust. It was a faulty bushing for the trigger inside the handle grip. I pulled it out and flipped it over. It's working again. Good luck.
I got the brand new Ingersoll Rand 2236QTiMAx just came out. it works well in reverse to remove lug nuts, but to put it back forward gear it has no power, i can hold it with my hand, no torque whatsover, i bought the second one and the same issue. Anybody has idea what the problem is?
I have the same problem what the name of the part
It's called the Air Inlet Kit, here's the link: amzn.to/3dIketh (affiliate*)
Alright man! have that same gun with the same problem! Not all heroes wear caps bro!
Hahaha, nice, lemme know how it goes! :)
