The history is really relevant today, but it irks me how the staff explains it wrong. It's a song contest. Voice, peformance etc is just to stand out. An act shouldn't be rated lower cause of the performer's voice (if there is no mistake). It's a song contest not a best singer contest. Song doesnt become automatically better if there are high notes or sth.

Also the production of Eurovision is 100 000 times bigger than any other singing competition its in its own league. Has an insane budget that allow them to do extreme quality and technical design, it’s actually bigger in some sense even to superstar size big concerts.
