Millions Knives (Theme) | Trigun Stampede (OST) by Tatsuya Kato (feat. Zinee)

Millions Knives, the twin brother of Vash the Stampede, was for me the big deal of "Trigun Stampede". He is more a central character in this adaptation compared to the 1998 anime, and both his motives and his plot against humanity are explored in more detail - but this new series also managed to balance his villany with empathy and distorted moraly, making his a more compelling and tragic villain without setting aside his violence.
Knives's theme is the most standout and prominent musical leitmotif in "Stampede" and is incredibly well done. Multiple times the character is shown playing a grand and imponent melody with piano, a piece that he was playing with Vash when they were children, and for this reason this instrument is mainly associated with him - but the melody is also rearranged with orchestra in some of the most climactic scenes of the series. Overall, this theme suites perfectly with the renewed portrayal of the character for this new adaptation of "Trigun".

  • I love how this version paints Knives akin to Lucifer, the anointed cherub (who developed a God-complex) and Vash akin to Michael--the archangel and protector of humanity. Knives' plot to impregnate the other Plants/ celestial beings and creation of the Gung-Ho Guns is _uniquely_ similar to Genesis 6:1-2 in the Bible that lead to the creation of the Nephilim hybrids that were wiped out in the flood. AND EVEN MORE SIMILAR is Isaiah 14:12-14 & Ezekiel 28:14 where Satan declares that he will ascend God's throne and describes how hatred was first found in his heart. Revelation 12:7-9 describes the battle between Vash and Knives in episode 12. It'll be interesting to see how Chronica is portrayed in season 2 and if Earth is really burned up or it's a paradise that sends SEEDS out to harvest new planets with humanity. I love the biblical themes in this!!

    • @@hamzajad8891 Personally, I believe that the majority of mythological or theological themes in anime stem more from east Asian culture, such as the presence of youkai (such as Oni, Tengu, and Kappa) as well as stories such as the tale of Kaguya. While some biblical themes are certainly present in anime, such as the analogues to Dante's Inferno in TRIGUN: Stampede, or the various biblical analogues in Death Note and Attack on Titan, they do not account for a majority. Anyways, thanks for listening to my TED Talk and for respecting my opinion and beliefs! :D

    • That's great to hear! 😁 May I ask you, how much faithful is this adaptation to the manga? I've read only the first few chapters time ago, and I haven't heard or read many comment about "Stampede" and the original manga.

    • @@Tim_S_Lucas sure thing, for example I've never seen knives use any sort of weapon to kill humans in the manga, however he do so by using those blades that comes up of his body, livio also appears in the manga but his design is quite different compared to the chi anime, but there're also major differences between the original work and the cgi anime, regarding the appearance of certain characters and their influences and roles regarding both the manga and the two anime of the same name, I'm still reading the manga as I've written the comment, and again thank you so much for uploading these osts, stay strong

    • It is for sure not faithful to the manga, Trigun 98 was an almost panel-by-panel interpretation, but most of Trigun Maximum hadn't been written when the anime came out. So Stampede is able to incorporate more ideas from TriMax and has done so in interesting ways.

      @lonesparrow@lonesparrow10 ай бұрын
    • @@lonesparrow seconded, to say that TriStamp is more "faithful" to the manga is just incorrect--they were just able to incorporate more ideas, as you said. ^_^ (just giving my support for the points you raised!)

  • i would pay top dollar to get a souls-like in the trigun universe. Guns and weapons that double as shields or melee enhancing tools like vash's gun being able to sit by his arm like a tonfa or Wolf having that big ass cross to use as a shield. Then add this haunting piano playing in some late game area where you meet MILLIONS KNIVES. I'd honestly help Knives. Being an independent plant must be a crazy feeling. wish there was a game that could replicate that feeling. After watching stampede i could just visualize an enitre souls-like action adventure. the world is perfect for that. we dont have enough games where guns are present but aren't like our ownn world where a few bullets kill you. powerful enough beings that can take bullets and need to be creatively taken down. Having something like trick weapons from bloodborne with the neo-western vibes mixed with sci-fi while finding tech from the colony ships, new clothes and armor to make your way through the vast world of TRIGUN STAMPEDE. I would play the heck out of this game if it existed.

  • I was amazed by Knives story and background, when he explained the reason of his actions in ep9 or 10 (don't remember exactly), i genuinely started rooting for him, i mean like truly emphasized his action, his dream, until the end. I wanted him to win and finally gave his people a free life in a new paradise, that touched me very....very deep. He died and belived hes doing it for better, better for HES' people. He's amazing, i love this character, best way to go with this epic song❤❤ Thank you

I'm Team Meryl--somewhere in the middle. 😎 I see Knives' point of view, but he fails to consider the kindness of humanity and only focuses on their evil nature. Vash, in his naivety, sides with the absolute good of humanity while completely dismissing the aspects of evil. Both sides focus on the absolute extremes and fail to grasp the potential for growth. Vash wants to coddle humanity while Knives wants to obliterate them. Both are valid stances, but nether prove an opportunity for true growth. Also...
