The Obi Wan Kenobi you don't want to mess with.
Especially when he has the high ground
And when obi wan has guns
You have the force....I HAVE A GUN
You don't wanna mess with obi wan Kenobi in general especially when he gets uncivilised
When his enemies saw him in the high ground
Can we talk about the bravery of the security guards? Engaging enemies armed with explosives and automatic rifles while you only have a pistol is incredibly brave, those men likely bought valuable time for some people that day. If they just ran the cars likely would have rolled up to the centre of town and started opening fire on civilians right away.
He literally took the SAS motto ,"who dares win" in the incident
Just recently saw Grand Thumbs interview with this guy. Quite a surreal interview if you ask me. The guy talks a lot about the conflict of teaching kids to be soldiers even though what made him the way he is was being so adamant about fighting at a young age. Really nice guy and a good example (IMO) of how normal people who train and decide early on they want to help people that become these heroes in time of need. Thank you to all the people like that.
Same here lol
The British army emphasises the idea of the Quiet Professional. It's the best way to be
I don’t recall him talking about the incident that much just the history of how a bootlicker becomes the man who gets his boot licked. I commend his actions saving lives but the interview was mostly about how action movies made him wanna be a soldier 😂. Never underestimate the power of war movies to get young kids to wanna be soldiers lol. This Simple history video did a better job explaining his actions than that interview *
As a kid growing up, there's alot I could relate to him about that. Unfortunately, the schools ostracized kids like us for being interested in things like that. Imagine if there were more heroes like him if they'd just let us be us.
@@Tragicide Kids don't fully grasp the dangers of guns, people, battle stress situations, etc. We don't need to let every 6 year old interested in war, guns, and violence (almost all kids like these things) go through military training. I am sure that some will still be adamant to pursue those careers, but most are just kids being kids and thinking those things are fun.

RIP Bernadette. Christian's reaction was unreal, it's like the guy drives around with a full arsenal in his trunk. He saved a lot of people that day.
I'm deeply sorry for the loss of such a heroic young woman. Bernadette may not be the individual most of us automatically associate with this appalling attack, but that in no way lessens the selfless sacrifice she made. We need a Christian Craighead biographic movie, he should obviously be played by Ewan Mcgreggor himself
I’m thinking either a miniseries or graphic novel (it’s pretty much a real-life superhero story)
Obviously
A Movie would probably end up beeing an egocentric actionmovie like Extraxtion or White House Down etc. Its hard to make a real dramatic movie over such events, i found american sniper and lone survivor quite powerful in showing the problems of war, so it should be sth like them instead a michael bay flick
Ewan McGreggors a Jock. Craigheads a Geordie……He should be played by Jimmy Nail.

@@TriggerVR657 Do you know why we dont use spices? It's because our meat is of extremely high quality. Historically, spices were only used to cover up the foul taste of low quality/old/rotten meat. That's why poor countries use spices and rich countries don't - rich countries simply never had to use them because even peasants always had access to good quality meat. When meat is of a high quality, spices only detract from the flavour. You might not believe me, but that's only because you've never tried British beef or gammon or bacon. Adding spices to British meat is like adding ketchup to a nice steak.

The SAS are in the top few military units on the planet. The guy that started delta force, charlie beckwith, modeled it after the SAS after he did a rotation with the 22nd. They literay helped and trained us, with a very strong bond ever since. The SAS are really people you want nothing to do with if your not on their side. And they have incredible history to back that up. The way this cat took charge and rolled out like a boss without hesitation is a great example.

You are a bold one
dang thats the first time i see one of the OG simplehistory narrators
For those unaware, the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment, Delta, came to life because of basically one man. Charging Charlie Beckwith had spent some time with the 22SAS, and figured America needed a similar unit that specialises in hostage rescue. It wasn't easy convincing the Brass that it was a good idea. Eventually he won over them, probably with help from the terrorists, who made it clear that there was a need for such a unit. Charging Charlie was a true warrior. We should all be grateful that such men and their "Toxic Masculinity" exist. Just like Obi Won Nairobi. It wasn't his watch that day. He saw a dire need to rescue people. He probably knew he was the best man within 50 miles or more to undertake the mission. Outstanding! One needs to hear the whole story. Twice while fighting in the stairwells, he was stunned and knock out temporarily by hand grenades thrown down on his position. He kept getting up and clearing rooms and floors. I can only assume that since it wasn't an official war that the British were involved with, a VC was never a possibility. Of course men like him don't fight for medals but personally, I think what he did rates right up there with Rorchs Drift for bravery and going far above and beyond what can be expected of any man, anywhere, anytime. Perhaps a shout out to Dave Sterling for starting the SAS back in North Africa during WW2. Well done sir. I'm sure if he knew what became of L Detachment, he'd be well pleased. Guess I've babbled on more than long enough. Have a good day folks. Hopefully in a country that's free, because of men like them. Amen!!
That's not "Toxic Masculinity", chief. That's the dictionary-definition of the exact opposite.
@@TheTopHattedGamer wow. I wasn't aware there was a dictionary definition. I was just being sarcastic. Personally, I feel masculinity can never be toxic. I'm sure there's thousands of people ready to tear me apart for saying it. If you'll excuse me, I'm off to find my dictionary to look that up but suspect it's too old for such trendy words.
"Toxic Masculinity" are those that are all bark and no bite as the saying goes, a shallow understanding of power and what it means to wield it. Men like Craighead are unassuming, quiet, but focused and disciplined and know EXACTLY how to wield that power. Outside of Colonel Beckworth... look up Sergeant Major Mike Vining another Delta "Original" and his demeanor was more like Craighead's, which is described above. There's a reason why teir 1 special operators are known as "Quiet Professionals"
