  • No structures might be the only option on Bedrock, but it's also easier to do this challenge on bedrock... you get saplings in the bonus chest and cauldrons fill up way faster on Bedrock (I think iron from zombies is harder though 🤔)

  • 5:36 I haven't seen anyone actually do the binomial calculations for this so here goes: P = Probability of success (iron drop) = 5/600 or ≈ 0.833% / 0.00833 in change factor n = Number of trials (how many zombies did he kill?) = 261 x = Number of success (how many iron did he get?) = 7 Plug P, n & x into the "binomial distribution formula" and we get a cumulative probability (P(X≥7)) of 0.676%. Answer: The odds of getting 7 iron (or better) within 261 zombie kills is approximately 0.676% or about 1 in 148. Not dream luck but lucky nonetheless.

  • FAQ: Q: How did you get all the wool colors? A: I misspoke. We do not have lime or green wool, but we did trade the villagers for lime carpets and green beds. The rest of the dyes come from using bonemeal on grass for flowers. Q: How did you get the beds for the villager breeder without wood? A: 15:06 Q: Hobby used time set day at the beginning. Why are you a cheater and terrible human being? A: We wanted to start exactly from 0 after resetting for a good bonus chest and are quite stumped why anyone cares that we did this Q: Can't you get a sapling from the bonus chest? A: Only in Bedrock Edition, not in Java Q: Couldn't you have just gotten the emeralds you needed from pillagers? A: Only evokers drop those and they don't spawn in pillager patrols. For a raid to start you'd need villagers, meaning you have access to emeralds anyhow Q: How did you get glass bottles, redstone, sticks? A: Witch drops Q: Will you do 200 days? A: Definitely Q: What inspired you? A: This forum post Hobby found a year or two ago: www.minecraftforum.net/members/Endy123/posts?__cf_chl_tk=u7IeO0yI3LM9S1qSxQ.Gyj4.5fyl7QeZg3dhnFc7EpM-1663180419-0-gaNycGzNCSU

  • Please continue to 200 days. Really loved to watch it. If another trader spawned in, and he sold birch or oak sapling, then you could get honey. Accordingly to the wiki, then "Oak and birch trees grown from saplings that are within 2 blocks of any flowering azalea have a 5% chance to grow with a bee nest containing 1 to 3 bees". Another idea could be to find a wandering trader, which sells sugercane. With which bookshelfs can be crafted, then a lectern. And then by a 50% chance from a Librarian Villager Journeyman Glass blocks can be obtained. Another idea could be to break through the bedrock by the usage of the moss blocks, and the build a void base. Ofc to make the grind easier, then first make a smithing table 4 wood and two iron ingots. Which at Expert level will have a 50% chance of giving you two either the option of an enchanted diamond axe or an enchanted diamond shovel.

Your rates, however, are much higher, with roughly 2.681% of your kills garnering an iron ingot. Hope this helps Edit: The amount of people saying "🤓" For what's basic maths is kind of funny 💀. • Since I've seen nobody do the math, here's me doing it :) To calculate the propabilities for the iron drops you can use the binomial distribution. Propability of a zombie dropping an iron bar: 0.0083=0.83% X: Number of zombies killed Hobby's iron-luck: 1 ingot 96 zombies X~B with n=96 and p=0.0083 Propability for one or more iron ingots from 96 zombies: P(X>=1)=1-P(X=0)=1-[(96 choose 0)*p^0*(1-p)^96]=1-[(1-0.0083)^96]=0.55=55% Your iron-luck: 7 ingot 261 zombies X~B with n=261 and p=0.0083 This one is a little more difficult so I am just going to use a calculator Propability for seven or more iron ingots from 261 zombies: P(X>=7)=1-P(X

  • So for the 8 iron you got on day day 16 in total , I did the math. (NOT A MATH WHIZ, so if somebody wants to check it, please go ahead :) ) You and Hobby had a total of 357 zombies killed. I multiplied 357 by 0.0083333... (5/600, from the source shown in the video) to get 0.83% of 357, and I got 2.98 . Subtracting 8 by 2.98, you got 5.02 more iron than you should have. And dividing 8/357 gives me the percent of iron you got, 0.0224%. Then by dividing 0.0224 with 0.0083, I got 2.70. TLDR you had a 2.70 times higher chance of getting iron, which is pretty lucky.

  • It's nice to see someone do this in Java since in Bedrock it's impossible to have structures in a superflat no matter how badly we want them. It's just a shame that Wandering Traders don't sell a lava bucket or things would be even better! Because he sells pointed dripstone too and with it plus 7 cauldrons you can make a lava from one bucket that will fill the 7 cauldrons! Also y'all should have made a new fishing pond and new barrels for fisherman villagers! And I think the Wandering Con-Artist sells sugarcane too and bamboo so definitely get those when you can! Because paper is needed for books which are needed for bookshelves which are needed for Lecturns to make librarian villagers!

  • 5:31 - Math guy here to calculate the chances of picking up those iron ingots Assuming a Normal Distribution of iron ingots dropped from zombies, we can take the average value to be 0.83% (noted earlier in the video). We can calculate the standard deviation to be the average distance from 0.83%, or the average value, by taking the average difference of both of your percent rates - 7/261 (2.68%) and 1/96 (1.04%). ((2.86-0.83) + (1.04-0.83))/2 is approximately 1.031. With an average value of 0.83 and a standard deviation of 1.031, we can use the normalcdf function with a lower limit of 2.68, an upper limit of infinity, an average value of 0.83, and a standard deviation of 1.031, the probability that Mogswamp got 7 iron ingots or more in 261 zombie kills is approximately 3.62%.
