    • But Lucy Liu still kicks her butt/finds out what it's all a distraction for in one situation, but she's not necessarily the font of all knowledge. And maybe it all turns out jolly in the end!? I had a mind to end it exactly the the way as Bill & Ted Into The Music with a party on a bridge, and Mr Reeves tells us we're all infinite beings, or something equally beautiful but cheesy-sounding! I think it's ideally going to be half improvised, or more than half. There's possibly a room for people who have played religious figures but we don't see into it, Keanu just had to pop in to fetch a key/map. It's vaguely pilgrim's progress based though, and a bit like Spy Kids pitched at adults. And plenty of film references and "in-jokes" that are fairly accessible.

    @marinan.6296@marinan.62962 жыл бұрын
    • No, the first sentence is translated correctly in the video. The commentator really literally wrote *"...some kind of sympathy for him in [my] soul!",* And what you wrote is an interpretation/summary of his words, not a translation. P.S. By the way, the second one is also translated correctly, but it turned into something strange in translation due to poor punctuation, grammar and construction of the sentence in the original.

      @Osigot@Osigot2 жыл бұрын

    • @@Osigot Sorry, but I feel the need to point out that in English "sympathy" is more like pity, while in Russian "симпатия" is liking and affection. Узус, понимаете ли. And, being a pro, I also have to say that the translation "word by word" is rarely correct, one needs to interpret the meaning behind the phrase and reconstruct it in the target language.

      @IrKaPodsolnuh@IrKaPodsolnuh2 жыл бұрын
    • @@IrKaPodsolnuh In this case, this isn't a "word by word" translation, but a correct (accurate) one. And what Marina N. wrote isn't a translation at all, but just an interpretation (a short and not entirely accurate essence of what was written). Btw, she indicated that her text is the correct translation, and in the video it's incorrect, - which is not true. It's better not to translate the text so freely (especially if you are a professional translator). Because the essence of translation is to translate, and not say another phrase that is loosely similar in meaning, but shorter. Otherwise, it's no longer a translation, but an essay. "Sympathy" in English is also used to mean "liking", but for more transparency, of course "liking" is better choice. And this will still be the correct translation: *"...some kind of liking for him in [my] soul"* But, for example, writing "I am in pain" instead of "I feel some kind of throbbing pain in the heel" isn't accurate for translation, but ok for interpretation.
