can we laugh at how disney lost to an adult animation series, with four actors who voiced disney characters
It's true though. Hazbin hotel is so much better than honestly anything Disney can come up with...as long as their not taking from anime (Lion king, I love you but your Kimba in all but name).
I know about Keith David voicing the shadow man in Princess and the frog, but who are the other three you are referring to?
@Passions5555 I know Stephanie Beatriz played Maribel in Encanto, Jeremy Jordan is Varian in the TV show of Rapunzel but I'm blanking on the 4th one..... Edit: sorry guys just now seeing the replies. Thank you for letting me know!! It's so awesome to see Broadway talent get the respect they deserve!! They can sing, act and voice act!!! Truly inspiring.

This. I feel that too many people are trying to be "smart" about it.
Also, I think it would be okay even in-universe if not everyone can be redeemed. It's a way to siphon off overpopulation, and it's not as if the exterminations wiped out every sinner either. Valentino and his ilk can stay in Hell and marinate in their bad vibes for as long as they like, but not every sinner is a Valentino.
@@helenanilsson5666 that a good way to discribe it an di really like this video on hiw who knows abot the show flaws but he focuse on the storng part on why this is good and disney doing ummmm something wrong with the music and villain and hazbin hotel like it or not its still show how far they come .
But Vivziepop wants us to. She really wants us to see Hazbin Hotel as this magnum opus, when it really is not.
There is also the fact that to be redeemed the sinner must want to change. Alastor made it clear he is not interested, The Vees also dont care. Or other Overlords. Or even those that are alies like Cherry Bomb or Husk dont care for redemption. There are so many nuances with the redemption plot. And that makes it interesting.
I feel like Hazbin also did a better job with the whole narcissistic villain with a song better than wish since Adam is good example of a “silly” narcissist Villain (who has a catchy song) than whatever they where trying to do with the wish villain
They also seperated the “goofy villain” and “narcissistic villain” into 2 seperate characters, giving us 2 awesome villains with defined traits, as opposed to giving us one character with both traits but lots of inconsistency and a lack of actual villain behavior.

Let's be fair, Alastor is the most terrifying thing in Hazbin Hotel. This guy strives to be at least disturbing in each of his appearances. If I had to compare him to a Disney villain, it would be Ratigan. Yes, I know, he's not the one we think of when we say "disney villain", but it's for a simple thing: Ratigan's motivation is to be evil. The first thing he does once announced as Prince Consor is to impose a tax on the elderly, children and the disabled. Alastor is the same: he loves being evil and savors every moment. Like the dentist in Little Shop of Horrors. Music here: kzhead.info/sun/jNOQn9FoenWIfoU/bejne.html Honestly, it's Alastor if he had become a dentist instead of a serial killer.
but Alastor is a villain. a great one, we can't even read their true intentions. we only know that he is bad and doesn't fears anything. he laughs at the face of the devil himself. literally.
I love how the poster clearly says “Be careful what you wish for” but the story tries to tell you that EVERY wish should be realized

Charlie's belief goes from "Everyone can change!" to "Not everyone can change, but they at least deserve a chance to try to change." Asha's belief goes from "Grant everyone's wishes, no matter how good or bad they may be!" to "Grant everyone's wishes, not matter how good or bad they may be!"
Exactly. Because nowadays, the disney protagonists have to have NOOO flaws and always be in the right so they can be more “likable” but flaws in heros make them more human and relatable, which is why people like them so much An example is Charlie’s sheltered nature, which is why she didn’t understand that not everyone can be redeemed. That’s just my take though.
Asha developed a T to the no matter after the entire movie.
Actually, it’s because of one reason and one reason only that Asha’s belief never changes. It’s because Disney wants to show these fake fantasies to minors so it sells. It’s all for marketing. Just put an unrealistic magical scenario and make the world look like the best place to ever exist, then boom. It sells. And it sells big time. Disney doesn’t give a damn to what the kids learn. Like most/all companies in the world, all they’re out for is money.

Hasbin hotel has likeable characters, has natural talent, and was flawed yet likeable
The fact that Hazbin made 'Stayed Gone' a swing jazz song when Alastor died in the 30s and Vox in the 50s is SO smart, it's like the style of music that was popular between the two eras in which they existed when they were on earth. You really can tell when something has passion and love behind it; it makes a world of difference.
True
Omg I didn't even notice that, the more I learn about Hazbin the more fantastic it is. A shame it only got so little episodes for season 1 and had to be rushed
Also the detail that Vox speaks faster than Alastor, who speaks slowly and clearly, because in TV people can afford speaking quicker than radio hosts.
I seriously don't understand why, if they wanted a more classical Disney vibe, they hired a pop writer. They should've brought on a more classical broadway composer.
If what they did with Hercules it would have been fine.
It's the money. Thet wanted a song that could hit the charts like how successful 'let it go' and 'we don't talk about bruno' are. But what Disney failed to see is that broadway songs are literally charts-worthy just like what happened with the greatest showman
And most of Disney's music from the renaissance era. They're all broadway-written music. @@BelleRebato
hey I’m the 666th like lol
@@BelleRebato Even worse is that such a decision would imply the higher-ups only see the Robert & Kristin Lopez's and Lin-Manuel Miranda's work as "pop music," when both have worked on quite good Broadway musicals (The Book of Mormon for the former, Hamilton for the latter). Like, that's just insulting to their own composers for thinking there's not a difference in skillset between the two kinds of songwriting.
The style switch in Stayed Gone has another purpose that you missed. The switch happens when Vox's broadcast starts, the manic and energetic part is what he displays to the public. He hides his sinister side and displays the entertaining persona. Meanwhile Alastor continues broadcasting even through the sinister parts, he doesn't hide his evil, he revels in it. The style switch is used to show this contrast between Vox and Alastor, Vox manipulates and fakes being good while Alastor might also manipulate people, but he never hides his evil nature.
Actually hadn't considered that. Great observation!
Except from Charlie. He's definitely hiding his true motives from her.
@@hanyoukimura He hides his intentions but it's not like he conceals his evil tendencies and violence from her. Pentious and the Loan Sharks that were after Mimzy can attest to that. That's what I meant when I wrote that he manipulates people but doesn't hide his evil nature
@@TheDJdragonflame that's true.
true! SO GOOD!!
For being a bad song, “Thanks I get” is the best song in the movie
And some how it makes the movie even wrose is this song is the best one .
I just saw Wish, and frankly, I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt like the animation was unfinished. And really, out of all of Wish's songs, only like 2 of them stood out to me (one of them was Magnifico's) mainly for the catchy rhythm they had, and I do believe that in "this is the thanks I get" it was meant to establish his more... greedy and power-hungry side, plus some scenes try to imply he's like that, on top of being a narcissist. I think him opening the song with him talking about his looks is meant to be like, "Why would anyone betray someone as handsome as me?"again implying him being narcissistic. Meanwhile, Hazbin managed to achieve so much more in only 8 episodes, and despite the flaws it may have, it actually had more impact than Wish did. Hazbin didn't shy away from just having evil doods being evil doods they're in hell.. for a reason, after all. In any sense, I thought Wish was just... ok. It's not the worst thing I've seen, but it's definitely not the best that Disney has to offer. It's just ok.
Hell's Greatest Dad alone is better then anything Disney has made in years.
God I listen to that song when I sleep at night.
Look like you could need some help.
Hell forever whatever you like it or not! _guitar soled_
Hell's Greatest Dad is basically a song duet of Genie vs Dr. Facilier in style. Even Alastor's colors during the song are bright pinks, purples and greens!
@@Kitsunekone Yeah, the guy playing Lucifer is clearly doing a Robin Williams impression and I think he killed it.

It’s flawed and I enjoy critiquing it with other fans, but its good far outweighs its bad in my opinion and I found it to be a very enjoyable series!
It definitely has major flaws but the characters ,Animation, and songs more than made up for it.
I love how you used stayed gone as the example, the whole reason it's my favorite song is because the difference in it instead of two people going together in a song they're against each other, and then it also has like what 2 or 3 different tunes, it also gives backstory and some in-depth of both the characters, it's amazing

The solution is simple: hire songwriters who actually have experience in musicals. Like, thats literally what the problem was with Wish. It makes me so happy how hazbin hotel is made with so much love and it is easy to notice in the series, even the voice actors enjoy a lot to be part of the show and have a "connection" with the characters they play. I've seen the cast meetings and it's so nice how they get along so well and it's noticeable how they love the project
I got this video in my recommendations after I saw a Twitter screenshot of this video saying it was "trash". I disagree, I think this is a very nice passionate video.
In general, an important joke is that all the main characters of Hazbin have their own signature style of music. This is especially noticeable in the song "Hell is Forever" - Charlie has the melody of a straight classic Disney (perhaps the birds will soon come to kiss her on the top of her head), which is contrasted with Adam, whose music is rock.
Yes, Angel Dust is pop music, Alastor is classic jazz, Husk is soul jazz, Vaggie is rock ballad, Carmilla is flamenco, Pentious is ballad(?), Velvette is pop rap/modern hip hop, Lute can be rock as well but her style is more like Evanescence which is gothic metal, and Lucifer is Tin Pan Alley/ballad.
Not just rock. But Christian rock
not really, sort of the opposite seeing as adam would certainly not be getting into heaven if he was just a regular human and not THE man
@@OL3THR0S I’m actually pretty sure it got on top 10 or something on Christian Rock somehow 💀
Hell's Disney Princess upstaging real Disney princess will always be amusing. I'm really proud of and happy for Vivzi for sticking to her biggest wants for the show: it has to be a musical and the characters have to keep their core traits. She was able to surround herself with like-minded people who all had the same goal and loved the characters and world enough to do them well. I don't feel like it got enough episodes to accomplish everything it wanted to, but how much it managed to accomplish in 8 episodes is BECAUSE it's a musical. Music has a narrative function [normally] that allows a lot of information to be introduced and processed within a short time frame. I hope they get more episodes for season 2 because they have so much more to show us.
Yeah it was originally meant for around 16 episodes but Amazon cut it down to 8

7:28 I personally thought that the style change in Stayed Gone was supposed to show that even though Vox is evil(or tires to be) behind closed doors, he has to be apealing to the public eye to keep up his reputation and in order not to lose his viewers' trust and respect
It’s kinda both. In a way it’s displaying his personality while also connecting to the story

I will say it’s definitely not the song writers’ fault that the music turned out bad in Wish. According to an interview they had very little information about the story and only two weeks to write each song. Meanwhile Hazbin had a much better pipeline and more time for development. So there was bound to be a big difference. Disney exes, you are the villains here.

How does that explain all the other bad songs Julia wrote in her career?
Haven’t even watched Hazbin Hotel, but just listening to the songs-I learn so much about the story and personalities of the characters singing them. Like that one song More Than Anything, which shows Lucifer is this guy that is clearly suffering some kind of trauma at having his wild ideas blow up in his face, with his angel family turning their spears at him and this single moment of soul crushing rejection and failure lead him to fear that his daughter was heading down the same road. But Charlie is this girl who found people she wants to risks it all for. And so the father decides to be proud of her for standing her ground. Or like that one song, It Starts with Sorry-Charlie is someone who is so open to giving anyone a chance that she makes the guilty guy cry, asks those around her to have empathy-to remember that they’ve been there before and would have wanted a second chance-and *succesfully* gets them to abandon killing the snake. And because of that, the snake get the chance to apologize and start the road to redemption. She has the characteristics of a leader, and the kindness of heart to change those around her for the better. Like it’s actually so cool how good the songs are at storytelling. I haven’t seen all the songs, but when there’s singing, it’s rarely wasted. The song and the visuals always tell something.
Wanna know the funny part? IT STARTS WITH SORRY ISN'T EVEN THE BEST SOMG IN THE SHOW!!! there have been many places where the songs were ranked, it starts with sorry usually doesn't even get that high of a ranking, yet it still tells the story perfectly for someone who hasn't even watched the show yet GODDAMN!!! That’s the best kind of musical (where the songs move the plot along) and I think the ones that AREN’T like that are the ones that make ppl say they hate musicals. Where they STOP the story so the characters can sing about something happening right in front of them that the audience already knows. And the song has no important character moments/new info in it, just a rehash of everything we already know which makes the audience wish they’d just shut up and keep going. It’s like if someone was reading you a book and every time you got to a good part they closed the book and made you listen to a 3 minute song before continuing

I'd say Hazbin Hotel has pretty accepted morals about redemption and if you look over the swearings and violence, its message is to me very consensual. The form is what makes it interesting and new but the message is overplayed. You don't need to go on trying to "trigger" anyone to get attention, you just need to make something worth watching.
The Animated Musical: Wish The Better Animated Musical: Hazbin Hotel
6:31 Alastor ALMOST beat Vox, not actually beat him. So whatever happened scarred Vox enough to react that way.
You hit the nail on the head - Disney has forgotten how to make a musical and relies heavily on nostalgia for past films to fill seats! Meanwhile Vivzie had to cultivate a fan base for a brand new IP and pay close attention to the quality of her product: as a result, she wound up creating a classic Disneyesque musical better than anything Disney has made in recent years!
Keith David had one of my favorite Disney villain songs with “Friends on the other side” and then he had an amazing song in Hazbin Hotel with “Loser baby”. Do find it interesting that in Princess and the Frog Keith’s character was a guy that used voodoo, shadows, and was from New Orleans. And now his character Husk in Hazbin Hotel is controlled by Alastor who seems to use shadow magic, has little voodoo looking shadow puppets, and is from New Orleans.

She acknowledges this and apologizes to Angel Dust for not realizing the severity of his situation. She is flawed, yes, and keeps trying to fix everyone else's problems except her own like husk said. The way she sees the world is different but her intentions are noble. Imagine being born in literal hell and staying kind and happy? We all could never
Totally agree. The reason no one likes Asha as a character coz she has no personality or flaws. The only personality that Asha has is her quirkiness. And her other flaw that “she cares too much.” Yeah sure Charlie does the same thing but it’s not annoying.
Right, I agree. My only issue with Charlie is that the show (and herself) both try to imply and *actively say* it is Charlie's destiny to be the leader of hell. Which it is, in a nepotistic take, but I found embarrassing that the MC proclaimed it was their role to be leaders when never did they show the ability to lead (literally every character got comforted by someone else) and didn't even learn anything to truly lead. Cannibal Town didn't even count because it wasn't about Charlie learning to convince people, but actually trying the same proved mostly useless singing method that "It never works" "But it'll work here", which is the only reinforcement that it is her destiny to lead others... Felt quite off that the season ended like that, but Charlie still has a lot of room to learn more things through next seasons while Asha will never learn anything.
@@Anonymous__S I think part of what makes Charlie's situation work though is that she clearly *isn't* ready to be a leader by S1's end. I saw the last two episodes as more building the foundations with her realizing and accepting that she's been forced into a leadership role (ready or not). Rallying Cannibal Town behind her is more a lesson of self-confidence and accepting responsibility than learning to lead or persuade. Corny as it is, both are fundamental to good leadership.
i think she sees in NOT in black and white
Yeah. Charlie is a woman with naive soul and doesn't understand her true strength. During the S1, the reality caught up to her; she has been forced awake from the cute protected sunlit garden. Now, she has to walk the path with mud puddles, broken glasses and deadly traps, on her own feet, if she wants to continue her dream. She's finally standing on the doorway of becoming a true powerful leader. But I don't see anything like this is Asha, she does now grow up. Rather, her childish motives are enhansed by the Star and are used like a puppet. You can see it the most when the Star comes down. It's really scary. The event at the Cannibal Town was, I think, done to teach her that people are different and require different ways to reach. Her singing didn't work for others, so she gave it up altogether. But Madam knew the residents likes singing ...impling that Charlie is careless about gathering information, the very first thing you need to do to convince someone. She kinda learned this with Angel but are still less careful and still isn't as much as she should be. Maybe it will come back to haunt her in later seasons hehehe. Also agree on the "lesson of self-confidence and accepting responsibility" part. She's a princess of hell, she's been saying that and she wants to act like it. So she needs to act like one when the time comes, and her preference won't matter then. The worst part of her is that she sees everything in rainbows with a twist of unicorns and candy rains. But in any case, very good show. I wish Alastor would step on me.
This is why i love indies, they show the passion of certain individuals that big companies like disney or pixar just doesnt have anymore. Say what you want about VivziePop but she really cares about her work and it shows
It's always the "upstarts" who do experimental stuff. Like walt disney himself. But the legacy, when it settles often become stagnant.
I have full respect for indie animation. There are so many good ones: Murder drones Helluva boss The amazing digital circus Ramshackle And more. Corporate companies…………😑😑😑😑😑
I cannot express how much I love hazbin hotel. The lore, the fandom, the art style, the music, the details of little Easter eggs of past scrapped characters. Of course there’s flaws but i haven’t seen something that can pull so many things off
7:48. I think, Alastor is ALWAYS smiling.
That's the point.
Disney is being dunked on more than a undertale player trying to no hit sans while blindfolded
46 seconds and this comment ALREADY GOT A LIKE?!?
Another undertale fan here. Love this!
Merg could do it.
Suddenly I'm reminded of that guy who beat Hollow Knight blindfolded
The muscle memory gained from that experience will turn you into Frisk.
In fact some songs on Hazbin Hotel, especially Charlie's ones give me those vibes of Disney songs like Happy Day in Hell.
I would say that most of the characters have their own style in their songs. Like jazz for Alastor, slut pop for Angel, disney princess songs for charlie, rock for Adam etc.
@@miafiolekova5817Wtf is slut pop?
@miafiolekova5817 I like how each song fits the characters' personality and how they portrays it. It's honestly a great show with really good music.
Happy Day in Hell reminds of me of Belle. Disney couldn’t do that.
@@miafiolekova5817 today I learned that “slut pop” is a musical genre
also hazbin doesn't go "look at me, i've got gay characters, i'm so progressive you should love my conglomerate" like disney does nowadays
Gotta use this Hazbin ep 2 quote bc it fits better than it should 😂: The audience while watching Wish (and maybe the actors while recording): wow... WHO WROTE THIS?? 🤨 The writers at Disney: it's great right?? Keep going! 😁
I love how Stayed Gone is, like, mirrored. the second half of the song is like the first half just reversed, the only difference is the first half is vox's perspective and the second is alastor's, and I'm not sure I've ever seen a song structured like that so specifically.
I'd rather watch a show with a million flaws that people actually care about than a perfect story created as a cash grab by a company. Heart in a project means so much, and Hazbin Hotel is so important to me in that way
🗿👍🏻✨
even though I have not watched the wish one think I understand about a musical is when its on screen people can connect with the person singing something hazbin hotel delivers while wish fails at doing so.
Fun thing about hazbin, everything happening during the songs is actually happening. I don't think words are actually appearing on the mirrors in wish
The worst part is that Be careful what you wish for is also the tag line of Coraline
and 'Into the Woods'.
"Be careful what you wish for" has been a common proverb for a long long time. The full phrase is "Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it", meaning that our immediate desires may not be what's best for us.
Disney literally did the opposite of what they’re doing.
Man it is sad that Coraline has the same tag line of that mid movie.
It's not because of nothing that most of the fandom has internally labeled Charlie as a Disney Princess in Hell.😊
Am I the only one who looks at Magnifico and the art about Starboy and see similarities? Magnifico even has this dim light surrounding him in certain scenes. It would have been so cool to find out that Magnifico was a star originally, who came down to grant wishes, but got bitter because people asked selfish and stupid things from him. And his bitterness took away most of his magic so that’s why he is unable to go back into the sky. That’s why he wants to consume Starboy’s magic. I just think this would have been cool and would have given a nice motivation to his character.
I think Charlie is also really similar to Rapunzel from Tangled, both from the hair and personality. Both are really kind and naive, wanting to see the good in everyone. They even both sing about having a dream lol.
Admittedly a wish sequel would be interesting. Show the consequences of granting everyone’s wishes and it would get interesting
I know that Hazbin Hotel had better songs than Wish
The only song I remembered in wish is At All Cost. It’s a love song. They couldn’t even allow that.
The only songs on the soundtrack that I liked enough to buy on iTunes are “This Is the Thanks I Get?!” and “At All Costs”.
@@Muna-Jlore0997 and the sad thing is that Hazbin still tops that with More Than Anything. Used in two types of love songs. First is between father and daughter. And later between a couple. Wish used it with people and their own wishes.
The hotel is the goat
Yes, yes it is
Disney has forgotten why music exists in musicals. It's not supposed to be a narration, it's supposed to be when words fail, music helps you express those feelings, and when they become to big you dance. There are plenty of ways to convey narcissism without having him sing about his genetics 😅
Vizie putted effort in her show because she was passionate about those characters, about the story and she spent the last of decade sharing this love with us,promoting it and she knows that we waited a lot of time for watching this show, and she busted her ass to make this show wonderful. Disney doesn't give a fuck about it's viewers, they already know that with every movie,no matter how much it's shit, they already know they are gonna get a certain amount of money.
Yeah despite some flaws with her shows she shows passion with her work which is what I love about her shows
👍🏻✨
Vivzie has my full respect. 😄👍 Disney…. 😑😑 what about them??
Really hope success of hazbin hotel & helluva boss gets more adult animation projects green lit. Wish felt so G rated made the Snow White running thru spooky forest scene look more intense.
Luffy training with giant bears lions, tigers, and apes had way more intense natural scenes than Wish too.
If you want a tip for a good adult animation i would check out The legend of Vox Machina. That is a good one.
What i love about stayed gone is that you can actually hear Vox voice trembling while Alastor was confident
6:31 Vox was ALMOST beaten by Alastor. Before the song started Valentino just said "Still pissed he almost beat you that time." As a non-native English speaker it surprises me that a lot of people get this wrong. I would have loved if you had also analized Hell Is Forever too since it is more similar to This Is The Thanks I Get!? in - as you said it - being catchy and less serious. Anyway, I really enjoyed the video and I agree with you (even though I have never watched Wish before).
The thing that hurts me the most about is not that It was effortless...It wasn't the first time Disney did something without putting heart in It, and the amount of live action movies they made proves it. What hurts the most is this: this movie was made as a commemoration of Disney's anniversay, 100th anniversary. Very few companies could say to have reached a century of activity, and the film that has to resume Disney's career in all of it's glory... Is this. And this is the thanks we get
I cannot stand live action movies. There is no heart in to it. Almost every live action is basically the same plot: girl boss trope. Bland villain story and so much more. And making wish may be their wasteful potential.
It's amazing how Hazbin Hotel has such good songs that I can't decide my top 3 and that's why the fandom went BOOM!
honestly, it makes a lot of sense for them to be so good. Because the living tombstone write most of them
@@Someduudeit’s honestly weird how they went from oh we just a channel who makes fan songs for games to we are known throughout the world because of our banger songs and we got a song into a theatrical release and we got hired by Amazon to write songs for their new show
as a Hazbin hotel fan I feel so happy that the music was recorded as amazing
4:09 made me laugh as a person who is familiar with ussr and communism itself (my parents lived at that time and told me a lot about it)
Hazbin is a Broadway musical. A lot of the cast have Broadway or theater backgrounds and it shows in how the songs are meant to move the plot forward. Wish's songs were written by pop writers. They're not concerned with plot. Wish is not quite a jukebox musical but it really feels like it is getting close
I’m a huge fan of musical broadways. Wish on the other hand… why?? Yes, there are a few modern pop music in Hazbin hotel but it’s not out of place.
I feel sorry for the song writer. They didn't even let her see the movie beforehand and now all the internet is laughing at her. Yes the songs are hot garbage but what potential she might have had to make them better, disney took away
Usually I can't deal with musicals, but Hazbin Hotel is just so great that I honestly didn't mind any of the song. Actually Stayed Gone is just such a great song I listened to it ON PURPOUSE, that's bassically unheard of!
My boyfriend saw it and thought I would like it, and I was like 'eeeeeeeh, a musical?' But I did watch it and I absolutely loved it - its got characters, story telling, and pulls on actual mythologies- and real villians/antagonists. Plus I just love 2D animation 😍
I play Stayed Gone to start my work day. It really helps.
9:01 Perfect sync
3:58 this it the best part it made me laugh so hard lol everyone talking about how Hazbin hotel is finally complimented but let me talk about how I loved the way Wish is roasted here.
For real Hazbin Hotel is a better celebration of Disney's legacy than Wish is supposed to be. There's a bunch like all the ones you mentioned but the one that's especially ironic is Lucifer. Disney scrapped all the creative team's ideas for the star to be an actual talking character in Wish for fear of him being too similar to the Genie in Aladdin. Meanwhile Jeremy Jordan said he used the Genie as his inspiration while voicing Lucifer, and the animators for his solo in Hell's Greatest Dad make nods to him too which, I didn't even notice ANY of that because of how unique Lucifer is even while directly referencing Genie. Seriously, I thought nah the Hell's Greatest Dad similarities are probs just surface level reaching till I saw side by side Genie and Lucifer use puppets, slot machines, and magically serve food while singing in a fake French accent. Like what a perfect example of paying tribute to something, and I already knew the golden fiddle was a reference to The Devil Went Down to Georgia too so it's fitting if Lucifer made other references
Now that you bring it up, it becomes the perfect way to properly put a nod to Robin Williams, who was a great Comedian, Singer, Actor and VA around. And a stand-up guy even at the end.
@@BrokensoulRiderTen years later, and Robin Williams’ death still hurts.
Robin Williams must be very proud.
Human Vs Ai and the Humans win because what the wish was that monstrosity
AI can only do what it is programmed to, humans have boundless creativity
the fact that in stayed gone, the part where alastor could actually hear vox is when he starts talking fast
Dreamworks: evolved. Illumination: evolved. Netflix originals: evolved. Vizviepop: evolved GLITCH PRODUCTIONS: evolved. I swear everyone evovled instead of disney🗿💀💀
the fact that this isn't even the first video i've seen that uses hazbin hotel as a herald of the rise of indie animation taking over the entertainment landscape... i'm also surprised that the sheer quality of the music didn't come into play, like idk wtf that magnifico "song" was supposed to be but it was grating and didn't have a cohesive melody, whereas the hazbin songs are very much in the disney _tradition._ especially "happy day in hell" and "you didn't know," they feel like traditional musical fare (and it probably helps that they got broadway musical alums to do the voice acting instead of just throwing big celebrity names like chris pine at the audience). there's a couple of clunkers in there - i'm not a fan of anything carmilla sings - but the overwhelming majority of the soundtrack is just banger after banger, they've got middle school kids who aren't even allowed to watch the show singing the songs. this adult animation literally stole disney's audience on music quality alone.
Exactly! Also, Hazbin has big names on it but they dont use it as a pushing point to get people to watch. It's more of a "holy shit i recognize that voice" when watching
@@Si1vercherryIt's the same as with Hazbin's sister animation Helluva Boss. As the series has progressed the production value has gone steadily up and they don't skimp on the voice actors. The season 1 finale had to be delayed quite a while because Ke$ha was voicing Beelzebub. The season two mid-season musical has several songs, one of them is a love song between Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice from Beetlejuice the musical) and James Monroe Iglehart (who played Genie in the Broadway production of Aladdin). It's absolutely delightful.
@@helenanilsson5666 yup! Alex Brightman is definitely one of my favorite stage/voice actors
its me,im the middle school kid
@@helenanilsson5666 Alex Brightman is also the voice of Adam in HH
My biggest flaw is that Wish's protagonist is just generally unlikeable. Charlie has her own flaws, she's too naive and she acts on impulse, but these are flaws that work, and her drive is a good cause. She's trying to do good, and having genuine character development. Wish's protagonist which I have no clue what her name is because she just sucks acts like a jerk to the main cast, her singing is awful, and she's actively trying to ruin a village because "make all wish come true, me no understand how horrible of an idea is thisbbecause stupid princess girl."
She is Asha, i like magnifico more
Asha has no personality or flaws. Her being quirky doesn’t make her any less of a character. Sure Charlie has the same trait but not annoying.
9:56 i can tell, yep i can tell
0:09 i feel you dude
King Magnifico - Charismatic, yet awful king Alastor - Horrifying, yet fascinating radio host
The pacing of this video is amazing! Honestly I was shocked when I realized this had under 1k views! Great video :D!!
Thank you so much!
I wish the Hazbin Hotel composers would write songs for Disney. They would absolutely crush it!
So true.
Stayed gone is in my top 3 Songs of the First season, Hell it might even be #1 with how much I love it.
Greetings! I’m a musical theatre actor who has been training since I was 14 years old to become professional. I’m currently in numerous productions and conservatory (aka professional theatre college) I appreciate videos like this which point out a few things about how the musical genre works. Musicals are a story told through music and acting and ironically a lot of people forget that. Songs have a purpose otherwise they aren’t included because of time. Every song either is supposed to be a character driven song aka a song where we hear a characters personality/wishes and desires and goals, or a plot driven song, a song that drives the plot forwards and established key details or motifs. Only rarely do you have songs like “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast which is a showstopper fun number. I haven’t seen Wish but I definitely have checked out the music, and I genuinely feel disappointed. Magnifico genuinely in his song depressed me so much I had to take a moment to sit in silence to process what was really being projected into my eardrums. Villains typically get “I Am” songs, songs that establish them as a villain without diving deep too much into their wants or desires because that makes them more 2D and therefore harder to relate to. It helps flesh out the protagonist in comparison. But Magnifico’s song is so entirely bland and establishes what we supposedly already know and repeats so many times that it’s not innovative enough to actually establish his character all that well. It also doesn’t show off what he’s like as a threat. If we look at Poor Unfortunate Souls for an example, we get that Ursula is evil. We see that. And we generally know her deal before the song. However, the song illustrates how dangerous she is, how cunning she is, her mastery of manipulation which is a common thread from that moment onwards in the story and is key to the climax where we have the final fight. Magnifico just seems like some guy…almost as if they wanted him to be quirky like Asha but terrifying and imposing and couldn’t seem to pick so they waffled back and forth. What we’re left with is nothing because it doesn’t enhance anything so we’re right back where we started. You could cut the song entirely and you’d still be left with knowing what kind of person Magnifico is and what “threat” he poses. 😂😭
This comment is pure facts. King Magnifico's villain song's only purpose is to tell you how soulless and badly written the villain is. Where did the budget even go?
