  • Great guests. It would be sick if you guys could interview rink managers/operations guys or social media managers for teams to talk about game day prep and what goes into planning for a season

  • Oil fan here. Yes I love when Mcdavid pots one in, he got one last night in LA. Although I don't mind his playmaking style, he has a total of 9 points in 3 games (8 assists, 1 goal). The is one factor, along with many others, why the oil couldn't run the distance in the playoffs in the last two years, because everyone on Oils line is reliant on just feeding Mcdavid or Drai. Theres a lot more goals that can be scored from the other players when he's averaging 2.67 assists a night in the last three games. Not only does that put us up further on the scoreboard but in gives the other 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th line players a huge boost of confidence surmountable to go the distance in the playoffs, confidence is a huge X-factor, you could be a top point leader in the regular season and come playoffs just be a ghost if you don't have that motivation, look at Elias Petterson for example right now for the Nucks. I feel like Mcdavid knows he can go end to end and score if he really wanted to when ever the opportunity arised or in the situation where the oil was in desperate need of a goal, or whatever it may be, but as a leader, much like Mackinnon and Crosby he's thinking more outside of the box than thinking about a goal, he is thinking how can I help motivate and improve my team in order to make them a wagon of a team. I think Skinner plays on the teams confidence too, just take last night for an example, the oil shut down LA and dominated the whole night and didn't let them have a peep of a chance, and I think that only helps Skinner. Yes he was shaky game one and two, but honestly I could say the same about the vezina favourite Hellebuyck, I love the Jets too and want them to go far too, but I don't think he's been playing to the best of his abilities. I think its a new atmosphere, that skinner is fairly new too (I know he played a couple games last year) but I don't think it'll be long before he is solid for the Oil between the pipes, but he needs his D-man to keep on doing what they did last night and game one, not giving anything to LA to take advantage of. Thanks love the podcast!!

  • I think the most underrated thing is how competitive the series is between Florida vs Lightning, thats how Devils got eliminated for spending so much energy in the first round. Rangers getting the rest they need facing the Caps so they have the energy to go far(I hope). Im just hoping they don’t get surprised if they make it to the second round, by the difference of talent to the Caps team versus Carolina. One things for sure, Rangers have a different level of confidence in themselves because of Laviolette

    • I’m going to have to disagree here only because Florida went through an absolute gauntlet last year with the bruins. Even the canes with that quad OT game. I think they’re going to learn from last year and be more conditioned for another run, But then again what do I know lol

  • I just recently started to watch/listen to the show, wanted to say I love the content but I am surprised by the names yall get onto the pod. Like where did yall come from, how are you working with the NHL and why doesn’t your show have more subs or views?

    @Usiris23@Usiris2315 күн бұрын
    • The low subs blows my mind also. Been watching since last year, and they're growing, getting sponsors, getting better guests, but the subs are just lagging, then again, the most popular, Chiclets, only has around 400k, which is also bonkers.

    • In terms of their contacts and connections - I think it has to do with the fact that these guys came up in Maine around a lot of the Boston metro area guys who ended up in the NHL. They know a lot of guys personally and show a lot of professionalism so people want to be on the show.

  • Re: The Goalie Sitch- change the paradigm of “RIDING the hot hand,” into “FAVORING the slightly hotter hand.” Don’t give either of these two guys more than 2 games in a row- it will undermine their ability to stay hot. It’s not about being a “real competitor who needs the net every night just to live.” It’s about keeping two equally great goalies on the cusp of peak performance.
