Today I will be going through every NHL Player at every position and ranking the Top 25 that are currently playing in the league. This may be the most challenging list that I have ever made on this channel since there are so many good players to choose from in todays game. This is based on a career sample size not just this season so just because one player is having a good year doesn't mean they are now a top 25 player all of the sudden. i feel like barzal has a case to be on this list. I also think that sorokin is better than shesterkin and hellebuyck. Also, Barkov is very underrated, could easily be on this list

Good list, but to me Rantanen is a top 10 player, having him that low is wild

Good list. It's too bad Quinn Hughes will lose the Norris to Makar despite clearly being the better defender this season. Some awards are just popularity contests. Also have to say that Hughes is the franchise player on Vancouver, with all due respect to Pettersson. I believe that barring injury/trade, Hughes will go down as the best player in Canucks history.
I wouldn't put Pettersson on the top 25 list...and move JT into the top 20. I'd put Hughes ahead of Makar now...yes he is that good

It’s a very short list and the league has a lot of players if I could swap one though Crosby deserves to be on it more than JT miller
@@jimmyhockey Bruh 19 Seasons PPG - 3 Cups - Lived up to everyone's expectations and still terrorizes nearly every young talent on this list. I am shocked at your perspective of swapping him out with J.T Miller. J.T Miller is not even in the same contention as Crosby, you cannot tie a few good seasons (Without the Cup) against someone who has been consistent for his entire career.
My only thing is this list probably should have Eichel, Crosby and Hedmen. None the less really nice video!
Added goalies definitely makes the list right but I agree with most of the picks
You could say it’s because I’m a preds fan or I’m not looking at the bigger picture but not including Forsberg is questionable I feel like. He has 89 points in 79 games and the preds would not be where they are without him.

Shesterkin over Hellebuyck is just wrong, Hellebuyck has over double the games played with essentially the same stats, playing with a worse team for most of that time as well. Not to mention Matthews over Pastrnak, Draisaitl, Panarin and Kucherov is a joke.

If you do a "career sample" you should also include Crosby, Ovi, Malkin, Kane, Kopitar, etc. Few of the players you listed will even come close to them in terms of stats. If your list is based on the last two seasons or so, I partially agree.
Great list… I think Drysitle and Ratunen are the exact same players for the exact same reason
hellebuyck is better than sherterkin bc shesterkin gives 10 times more rebounds than hellebuyck. Shesterkin would be by far the best goalie if he knew how to shut down offenses by keeping the pucks on initial shots, which hellebuyck does way better.
They are all great I just prefer Shesterkin

No way Barkov is not on this list... Guy is the main reason for Florida Panthers success lately. Pretty much the best 2 way forward in the league scores alot of points and he has such a big effect to his team on and off the ice...
rantanen should be higher, I think mack should be #1 for this season, and cale should be over matthews (im totally not biased at all)

If goalies are on this list then where is Demko? If you ever watch Vancouver then you'd know there success this season is largely di to him, hence this bit of a slump they have been in since he has been hurt

I am a leafs fan so there is bias but on what planet is Robertson better than Marner. Marner has 4 more points than him all while having way better defensive numbers and playing 14 less games than him this season.
The fact that Crosby is not on the list makes it insane. He’s still easily a top 10 player and I’m leafs fan

Putting Makar at 4 and Hughes at 11 is absolutely laughable. Makar would barely exist without Mackinnon, and even when together, Makar's stats are worse than Hughes by almost every metric. I'm making sure to mute your channel.
Kuch is actually underrated, he's the second best player in the league for me behind mcdavid, idk if that's crazy to say. I'm a leafs fan and i don't even thing Matthews is top 5, top 10 for sure, but the lack of assists and past playoff performances bump him down for me.
Just left Sid off top 25. Downvote.

Putting Matthews ahead of Draisaitl, Makar, Kucherov at any time, but especially when you're looking at career is wild. Matthews is a one dimensional player that while he scores lots of goals, he otherwise does not contribute to a lot of goals, whereas all the others I mentioned can score, but also drive play and set up others. All this also ignores that all these players are so far beyond Matthews when it comes to playoff performance that it's embarrassing.
Draisaitl is only relevant because of McDavid. Look at Hyman he has 50 why? Because he plays with McDavid. You could play on McDavids line and score 30. To even consider Leon being ranked higher than Mathews is a joke. Give your head a shake
@@kylekerr3910 To use your logic, Matthews is only relevant because he has Nylander or Marner setting him up. Draisaitl consistently produces points with or without McDavid, and I mean if you just look at the playoff numbers, especially considering Drai was on one leg for a good part of it, the race between Drai and Matthews isn't even close.
Matthews is a perennial selke candidate. He gets overlooked because of his goal totals but he is genuinely one of the best defensive forwards in the game. To say he's one dimensional either means you don't watch him play, or you do watch him play and no nothing about hockey. Either way you're wrong.
@@pete4ism You've offered no actual evidence to show that he's strong defensively. He plays against weaker offensive threats consistently, all the tougher matchups go to either Tavares or Kampf. Even in the game just recently, he wasn't on the ice for an empty net goal late, because he's not a guy that can be put in the game when it's 4 on 6 with the game on the line, they wanted to wait until it was 5 on 6 to ease the matchup. It's fine that you like the player on your team, but to say he should be a perennial Selke candidate is just ignorant of actual strong defensive forwards.
@@Marixa1979 5th best plus/minus in the league. Constantly ending plays in the D zone, constantly moving the puck out, never a liability. They've used him on the PK to great effect but tend to save his legs for offensive minutes (gasp). Whenever he battles for the puck its just understood that he's coming out with it and tilting the ice back Toronto's way. He just is a selke caliber defender. There are others more deserving, but to pretend he's one dimensional is, respectfully, very silly.
The argument for Matthews is goal scoring and defense, but it's really tough to quantify defense numbers. Even still, the overall production of other forwards has been better and more consistently. For this season, there is a small argument for Matthews being number 3, but Kucherov has gapped the scoring production of Matthews. Goals are harder to come by (and Matthews has 30 more), but when you help your team to getting 40 more goals via assist, it's realistically not close. My top 10 this season is: McDavid, MacKinnon, Kucherov, Pastrnak, Panarin, Makar, Draisaitl, Matthews, Q.Hughes, Fox

I would replace JT Miller with Crosby now that I reflect on the list but it just shows you how many good players are in the NHL
