Demonstrating the different seat combinations of the Vauxhall Zafira. I have not done this for over a year, so rather than doing perfect takes i have shown how easy it is to figure out even after not using for a long time. We have had this car from new and it is the only brand new car I have bought that has not been back for anything, not even a trim clip.

I just bought one of these babies (2002 model) and I wanted it before I even knew it had two seats in the back. Now I was trying to figure out how to get those back two seats down and/or out so I landed here. I am going to try all these tricks later tonight. I am tall too (as well as big in various other respects... :/ ) and this car was just immediately right for me. Very informative video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for that, i could have made this a lot slicker but we wanted to do it in the flesh with me not having moved the seats for a year. As an all round car this is the best we have had by miles. It has saved us van hiring fees loads of times. We bought it new and it is the only new car we have had that has never had to go back to the dealer, not even for a trim clip.
Brilliant video. So useful. Wasn't sure whether to buy a Galaxy or Zafira but watching your video has made me realise how much room it provides.
I must admit we have thought about selling it a few times, but then you ask yourself apart from the car being a few years old now why ?. I guess this answers why there are so many still around when the last one was sold in 2014. We will keep this car until it stops, it is just so useful and has saved us so much money in van hire. It is worth remembering there are many different specs and wheel sizes. The climate control is superb in this model....keep Safe !!!!
@@PaulBriden Thanks for the tip on the spec. Didn't know wheel sizes are different but I have already come across another one that is more expensive than the one I am looking at but older. The spec is better. Its an Exclusiv and I was looking at a Design Nav CDTi. I guess with lockdown being eased there is about to be a lot more choice. Yeah... you stay safe too :)
@@DianeCorriette Ours is an Exclusive Capital One model. What this means is over and above the Exclusive it has, 17 inch wheels, privacy glass, climate, telephone connection, full size spare, parking sensors front and back and electric heated mirrors. It is however a 1.8 petrol. It was sold by dealers that were within a certain distance of the M25, hence the title Capital in the name.

You have such a nice clean car, i purchased a zafira b second hand with low mialege, but the car was filthy as anything and i did my best to clean up the car i bought ..
It is easy when you have owned the car from new, also we do not smoke, no pets in the car and small children very rarely. We try not to eat in the car and when we employ it to take stuff down the tip we always use large towels and old blanket's to protect the interior. We are all different and I guess people do what they want with their cars or whatever else they own. I for one cannot stand sitting in a motorised dust bin...lol...lol

I'll never understand why Holden stopped selling the Zafira in Australia/NZ. It's a bloody brilliant car.
Global market trend towards impractical urbanized SUVs. All the size of an MPV with none of the utility.
The cover can be put back on behind the two folded up seats in the same way you originally had it before you put the seats up

Thanks for the video. I', looking at getting one. Though can you tell me, from the back front passenger seat pulled forward. Do you know the measurement from there to the back door. ( Can't find it anywhere on the internet just as all the other reviews they talk of litres and not cm length.. ) Thanks.
Sorry I do not have a clue. I am 6ft 1 with a size 33 inch inside leg if that gives you an idea of space.

Good vid. How much flat space (length) is there in the back with the back seats down and the middle row pushed forward? I was thinking of buying one of these Zafiras, to replace my Nissan Almera Tino, but am concerned that the middle row seats on the Zafira are not easily removable, unlike with the Tino. In the Tino, with the rear seats removed, there is enough length in the back to lie down (for me, at least), even though it's a shorter MPV, overall.
I do not know but we were able to put a double divan bed in the back, both sections and shut the tailgate.

Over here in Australia it's called the holden zafira. They phased it out after 2005 or so and they tend to be the 2.2 liter engine with many of them being automatic transmission. There's barely ANYTHING if I search for holden zafira but I am glad I tried Vauxhall instead. They're very cheap here, some 160 thousand kms or less for like 1500 pounds. I have been considering one for sleeping in in caravan parks instead of using overpriced motels. No such thing as a cheap motel here. Often 60 or 70 pounds a night even for a crumby one. Honestly if you are going to stay in motels for more than 25 nights, you might as well get a van to sleep in.
We do not sleep in this car, too old for that, but it has saved us a lot of money as far as van hire is concerned. The best all round car we have very owned. This one has parking sensors front and back, climate, full size spare, privacy glass, 19 inch alloys, phone connection, and computer. We are really pleased with it.
I have a 2002 Elegance 2.2 litre model that I was surprised how economical on a long run this car is. You do need to check CV joints and the shocks' and springs on a model of this age.@@PaulBriden

This model is the last of the Zafira B it is a 2014 model. This type ran from 2005-2014. I believe the older model has the same seating arrangement, but it is nowhere as near as nice to drive.

I've got two teenage son's their world is the fridge the food the fridge the food. . . . So un-PC constantly whistling at every piece of passing skirt ( now whose unPC) both 6 footer's. I do not know but I am 6ft 1 and take a size 18.5 shirt so that gives you an idea of perspective. I think the floor is normal height. The seats are low. The very back seats are a bit of a compromise but they would be, its not a full size limousine. At my height I would not like to be in the third row for a 100 miles. However, what you have to take into account is leg lengths for two 6ft 1 males can vary as much as 2-3 inches depending if you have a long body etc etc.
Hi there, can u please tell me where did you buy that rubber boot liner. Actually i am looking for the same one but couldn't find it.
We bought it from a Vauxhall dealer when we bought the car new. If you contact a dealer I am sure they will give you the part number. I have just looked at the brochure the car came with. It was part of an accessory pack called the Protection Pack. It included Velour mats, Mudflaps and Cargo liner. I scanned the QR code in the brochure to try and get a part number for you, however, it no longer works. I suggest this is because the car has not been current for a long time.
Thought I knew everything about the rear seats after two years of ownership.....didn’t realise there was a release button on the rear bucket seat.....😂

Is it possible to get rid completely of the middle seats? Is it difficult? I'm planning to buy zafira and convert it to a minicamper van. I'd leave the rear seats as they fold so neatly!

How is your car so clean most 7 seater cars usually mean kids and kids destroy cars but yours is spotless
Because we have no kids of a destructive age or dogs. When we use the car for carrying rubbish or large items we use old sheets to protect the inside of the car. The hoover it out afterwards.

Paul how did you raise the bak seat base up. Where is the release button for that
There is not one, you just pull the handles in the floor and lift. The handles release the seats as well as acting as a lift for them.
Do all the seats come out ( back seats) use it as a van? camper van?
I guess you could unscrew them and take them out, but as a quick release feature, to the best of my knowledge, No.
My sisters borrowed my Volvo XC90 and I was trying to figure out how to fold up the seats. So I could take some waste to the city tip. Btw the 1.9 diesel is slow a hell. This 60 reg has only cover 38k. Thanks
There not designed to go fast, saying this, they did do the VXR 2.0 turbo with 237 bhp which was a fast way of getting to the tip.

Hi friend, your video is very helpful. But mine middle seat is not sliding. It seems to have stuck. Can you please help with any idea?
Without seeing the seat it is difficult to diagnose. I would get someone to operate the lever and you look under the seat to check the mechanism is working. There mayby something just stuck under the seat like an old coke can. If the mechanism is okay then spray some silicon lubricant on the rails to free the seat.

My rear seat handles have been literally torn out of the seats due to their regular usage. The same thing happened to sun shades, the hand brake handle and the ashtray. That's how crappy Opel is.
You must have yanked them up with brute force because as you can see they are easy to erect.

It can only be the way you treat the car, we have never had a problem, we have a friend with 3 kids, yes the seats are stained and the car is how you would expect with small children, but nothing has broken.
They are actually good cars especially the old model with a 2.0 diesel chain cam engine I once saw a taxi man with 325k on the clock
Agreed, one of the best cars they have ever done. Shame they have removed the Zafira Tourer from the line up. The trouble is now that Vauxhall is French and not American they are streamlining the range to fit in with the corporate branding.

@@cassk9999 I spend a lot of time in the states and always drive Chevrolet Tahoe's or Suburban's. Never let me down. I have 3 Vauxhall cars and none have ever had to go back for anything except the Antara which had a heater problem, but fixed with no cost or hassle.

Just collapsed. You could of course remove them with the correct tools, but as part of the package, no.

What does double divan split in half mean?
The base of a bed is normally made up of two parts in the UK. So splitting it in half means just that.

@@andrewspires2730 Nope you can take the two parts of a bed down to the tip one on top of the other in the back. I do not think it is adequate as a camper, however, what you do is entirely your affair.

Yes, I bought one recently (an 04 Zafira) and it's exactly like this.
I do believe it does, not quite as slick but i do believe they are very similar, the main improvement on the newer model is the ride and handling. Just to make sure, if you go and look at one just ask them to demonstrate the seating to you. At the end of the day if it does not offer what you want you do not have to buy it.
