1934 Kingsbury Chrysler Airflow Light Up Sedan Restoration
I purchased this 1934 Kingsbury Chrysler Airflow Light Up Sedan off eBay July of 2020. The wheels were ready to fall off this one, the wind up mechanism did not work, nor did the headlights and tail lights. It was missing the battery retainer otherwise was all there. This one fought me in numerous ways. When I stripped the old coating off the parts, the factory grille dissolved in a matter of seconds, evidently I should not have tried stripping the coating. I ordered a factory one for replacement when it comes in, however to make the video for this weekend I made a custom one just for now. The factory spring clip for the drive assembly snapped during reassembly and I had to improvise with a short spring and push clip. It worked well, however I was still saddened that It was not the correct parts, I will continue to look for a replacement clip to fix this correctly in the future. While reassembling, I missed installing the insulators under the light bulb contactors at first and had to remove and reinstall them after. Other than the slight mishaps, I am extremely thrilled with how this little car works. It drives well, and I love the clicking sound as you wind up the spring. The tail light is my favorite part of this hole car. Thank you for watching!

Those sheep of yours crack me up and I like Beaker’s cameos at the end of every video. You do such a fantastic job on every restoration! My favorite parts are the sandblasting bit and when the paint powder in the baking process turns shiny. Those are ASMR for me.
I guess the grill is in my eyes not good, and you forgot the iso paper, greetings from germany, dont forget to feed the sheeps
My son Lucas is 4 and we watch one of your videos every night at bedtime. He was laughing his butt off for a solid 10 minutes over the sheep getting sucked out of the car at the beginning. He gives you a literal thumbs up every time you tap the subscribe on the sand blaster. Thank you for these videos. He now wants to."rescue" toys from the garbage himself, lol From one of your littlest fans, "Hi! More sheeps please!"
Very classy! With real lights from 1934! Who knew!
Just undoing everything, shows the care and effort made years ago when companies cared about manufacturing even toys! Nowadays, forget it.
I like the makeshift grill, shows creativity and resourcefulness. I thought it added character.
The hate can’t outweigh the talent of this person.haters never win.
I mean it's not just that the table is crowded but that you can't really appreciate all the beautiful work because they're all smooshed together
Excellent restoration, but oh, the poor cyclopeep..... His one staring roll.... Thanks for another great vid.
даришь вторую жизнь машинкам. круто. успеха тебе.
What an incredible restoration project. With all the bits and pieces, it seemed more involved than ever. I really enjoyed watching you work on it. Beautiful!
جذ
The tow truck start up for every video just kills me. So adorable.
The design of this car is really beautiful and sublimated by your restoration, we knew how to make stylish toys at that time
Yup; back when old-school cars only needed one taillight
Another great video! I am sure that I am not the only one that would appreciate a tour of your shop layout and the tools you use to work your magic. Thank you
Congratulation chip Channel the Fábio and Rafael from Brazil. The best restauration of Chrysler Airflow 1934. Long life the Channel.
Вы просто мастер с большой буквы. Браво.
Securing the spring with zip ties was brilliant
I agree! Hopefully I will remember that the next time I have to deal with a spring.
As soon as I saw him holding the spring I said "Well you're about to have a mess". I should have known better. This guy is one of the best, for sure.
I was impressed with that as well.
yeah i caught that too ... what a way round eh ?
You’re one of the reasons why I watch restoration videos. Thanks for sharing your talent. This little car was well loved and you made sure someone can continue doing so. Keep doing you 🏆
Good job securing the coil!!
Great to watch. Your cheeky, sheepish humor 👌 😀😀 🐑 Even towing from the junk pile to the work area. The tools and craftsmanship are very good 😌 Thanks.
I am Laughing while screaming at the TV, " You forgot the insulating paper for the electrical parts". I enjoy this channel. I'm a big Cyclops fan, always look for him...!
I wonder when he realised he hadn't put them in?
🎖🏆Excelente... Genial... Saludos desde Viña del Mar Chile🇨🇱
Amazing work here Chip! That is one COOL toy!!!
This not just amazing talent with comprehensive knowledge and ingenuity, also great sense of humor and showmanship combined that makes your videos such a wholesome experience. Please continue this wonderful journey
I love watching the sand blasting, the powder coating and cleaning parts with a brush. Amazing!!! He is so talented!!!

Love it! Especially cause green is my favorite color
Amazing work. I am new to the channel and spent the last week catching up. Watching these transformation restoration videos is addictive and very soothing. Good for the soul.
Omg Cyclops is behind the wheel 😂🤣😂 I love these videos and the sheep are too cute. Sandblasting is my favorite part of your videos. Tonka toys were the best back in the day.
5:45 "Made in the USA" aw the good old days when things were built at "home" to last and entertain several generations of children. 😊 9:43 wow thats a lot of pieces, the manufacturing from back in the day is so under appreciated! 😮 I think I would have cried when the OG grille disappeared before my eyes, but you hung in there hopefully somehow you find a replacement.
Sand blasting would get rid of all the rest off of that 1934 car you do a great job with your restoration it looks so good much better after you’ve done all your work to it.I in joy your videos and your cat at the end when you pet him or her they like that
Watching a toy auto get restored is just like watching the real automobile get restored, but on a smaller scale with less parts. Cute cat, and oh those little cotton ball sheep!
Oh Chip, I really don't think you should let the one eyed sheep drive anymore! Glad to see 👀 the stitches are out! Great job!
I’m more concerned about the ones with the bandaids. 😥
Why not let the one eyed sheep drive? At least he keeps his eye on the road.
I come for the restorations but I stay for the sheep and the kitty! Superb work!
This is total ASMR for any/all restoration junkies! 😴
Really neat how a few minutes in a media blaster can change something faded and worn into something almost new looking.
nice work. I am not crazy about the grill rebuild. Somehow it looks off to me, the rest of the car is fantastic
I try to count the sheep, but always fall asleep.
What's also taking place with me 🤠 😉 is that; I'm also on the 💺 ⛵ 🔎🔍 search for, 1/24th plastic ⚖️ scale 📳 model RVs. Such as like the 🗝️ old ⏳⌛ timer 1960s, 70s and 80s 🏆 Winnebagos.

@@jimenarubio766 Restoring these iron toy trucks have a lot in common; it all depends on what the engineer restores, I've seen the old timer Mattel Electronics Intellevision VG (Video Game) console, get restored. This is in the case of; how to restore anything, that anyonewants restored.😳 😀 😄 😬 😉 🙄 😳
I got 12...
Another outstanding restoration
Great toy and a nice restoration. Glad the metal was in such good shape when the paint was removed.
Wow that turned out so good. I love it when you are able to fix broken and create missing parts. That one terrific looking showroom model.
Something about this toy being rwd amuses me greatly
Wow! What a fabulous restoration. That car is absolutely Incredible. I love that you wind it up and off it goes. The flock seem to love it too Wee.
Awesome Chip. Now the Airflow is my new favorite after the searchlight truck!😇😃
This was a luxury toy for 1934. Glad to see it properly restored.
Hello its 1AM in Indonesia, i like your channel so satyfied, i always watch your video before going to sleep 😅
Очень люблю Ваши видео! Они очень уютные и домашние 😍😍😍 Всегда переживаю за барашков. Милейшие существа ☺️☺️☺️
Thank God you're changing that grill at a later date, but otherwise a nice restoration. Peace
Li
I like Your work an enjoy every second. You're a very kind and nice man - Your animal tells me. 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑 As I wrote, I like You but love Your cat. 🐈⬛👌🏻
What a great job, congrats and thank's for share.
It's definitely a beauty and my favorite one yet. Glad it's getting a replacement grill later. Too bad about the original one.
That's more fine work from you. Thanks for the video.
Another great restoration.I enjoy your channel very much you do fantastic work!
Enjoyed the restoration. I hope that the temporary grille is replaced with one that looks more original. Great job!
I can't understand, because there are so many dislike. The work was absolutely perfect!
Thank you for teaching me that zip tie lesson with the spring. I would have learned that the hard way. I am sure I will use that skill when restoring my own cars for my KZhead channel. I have a bunch of Matchbox and Hot Wheels done, and a Tonka. I am looking for more cars like that one to restore. Thanks again for the time you take to make these great videos.
This new video is so fun and educational for children, and the children watch it with great attention👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's a shame about the grille but I like the new one. Thanks for posting.
The disappearing grill in the acid trick KAOS would be proud
Since I've just mentioned the Graymark Robot 🤖 Kits; earlier on before, I didn't think 🤔 that George Plimpton 🎲 died 18 years ago. Duane G. Shelton; best remembers George Plimpton as, the spokesperson for Mattel ⚡💡 Electronics Intelevision VG (video game) 🎯🎮 console.
Cool!👍🏻
"I think Lola Pagola was in on it, Chief!"

You could say...*rips off sunglasses*...he missed it, by that much. HEEEEYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
Awesomeness! My fav part of the week, new video from Chip Channel!
I would never dream of correcting anything you do, but when using the bluing solution, it is best to pour some out of the bottle into a small container, so that you don't dip the "contaminated" brush back into the bottle. Outstanding work on all of your projects.
Amazing work buddy! I restored a Jeep Wagoneer on my channel!
That looks like something Bonnie and Clyde would drive in the Bonnie and Clyde movies 1934 and something million Airhart drove.
I love this! Great job!
I like your restoration process because it is of high quality, you are really an expert restorer well done Bro and keep it going
i watch your clips as soon as they come out. i really like seeing what you have to do to restore these toys. But i LOVE THE SHEEP. it's like the early movie serials "the perils of Pauline".
This must have been a top end expensive toy when new.
I'm so impressed and inspired!
You should work on more 1930s era vehicles. I love the deco art style of those.
Hey Chip Another fine automobile to add to the fleet, she looks great! Take care 🙂
"Acid dissolved the grille" struck me as surprising and funny!
Most excellent restore job as usual. The one tail light is unique.
I love watching this channel...the process of watching something old become new again is soothing and satisfying...and the tow truck and sheep add a funny, entertaining touch...this channel never gets old!!
Your videos are very relaxing. I really enjouy your work!
Wow! I love the way that turned out. Now that the sheep has her licence, they can go cruising! Love it!
Wow those parts prices are crazy!! Great job, watching sand blasting is strangely theraputic..
What a beautiful restoration! Thanks for sharing!
MASTERFUL, BEAUTIFUL restoration! Love the radiator you fabricated and dig those groovy, full whitewall tires!
Otra gran restauracion con un resultado asombroso, la lograda en este Kingsbury Chrysler Airflow Light Up Sedan 1934 💯👍💯👍👍🤘
I only recently found your channel, and enjoy your work very much. Also, the sheep are freakin hysterical!!!! Please keep up the awesome work!!
Purring kitty and a Bentley. Great day and video 👏👏👏👏
skillful hands make great work.
What a super cool old toy and great restoration! They don't make them like that anymore!
As always Awesome Restoration! Well Done Mate!
I would rather have seen your PERFECT remade grill to match the original one. Stunning restoration
love the working headlights great job as always.
Very nice restoration on this fine gem... please keep the projects coming....
outstanding restoration.
So glad cyclops got his ride. Great work! I wonder what kitty would do with the sheep!
The cat will play with them, and then think they are mice (prey that it has killed) and try to eat them - if the fluff balls are artificial = risk of sick cat/if natural cotton = cat might throw them up with fur balls
Beautiful and even runs. Fantastic job young man. God bless
My Grandfather had a 1938 or 9 Plymouth. Can't remember the model but his only came with one tail light. Wonder when manufacturers started with double tail lights. But anyway....Great job!👍
1:10 love it how the Cyclops Shoop gets sucked out of the car at the beginning :))
Nicely done.
Great resto. The wee sheep rock ! 😁
Was so surprised that you managed to find replacement tyres. Wasn’t so keen on the grill situation. The original grill was brilliant. It’s a shame that the acid burned it up. Hope you can score a good replacement because the temporary grill has much to be desired. Also wasn’t too enthusiastic about gluing the tyres to the axel bar. There must be a more elegant way to secure them which is reversible? Although I cannot think of a more elegant solution off the top of my head, I am confident you’ll come up with one eventually Chip. Cheers!
Love your collection!
I feel vindicated I saw a green car in your pile o! cars and trucks and it looked like a Chrysler Airflow, and it is! Glad to see it restored, too bad the grill self destructed.. I hope you get a replacement soon, the grill gave it the Airflow 'personality'. Another great restoration.
Been waiting to see the Airflow fixed. Worth the wait
I really like your channel. You're very talented. I watch other restoration channels and criticize how they do things. "Well, CCR wouldn't do it like that". Some people! I love the little sheep and always look for the cyclops one!
AWESOME JOB!
First off i think ur grill looks better. This has got to be one of the coolest restores youve done great stufff dude!
