Playing phantom is incredibly fun and unique, especially with friends. I love to spook them randomly appearing in front of their eyes out of nowhere with a mob head equipped so that it isn't instantly visible that it's just me :D
As someone who plays a lot with this mod, it's always so fun when you meet someone you're normally unable to. Like, recently in our server we made a Water Protection Armor for our Enderian friend, just so he could meet my Underwater base (i'm a Merling) He still took damage, but way less

I always thought the feline's downside of not being able to mine large stone deposits was unreasonably brutal, to me that would make the game unplayable
eh, it's pretty manageable, you just never go underground. Your two main options for gameplay is to either explore the world far and wide, or become attached to another player, becoming inseparable. So basically, you become a cat.
In single player yeah, it would be pretty tough. But it forces you to try to play some other way instead of the same routine most people have
Yeah, I would never play as something that can’t mine or be underground, most of my time in game is spent deep underground branch mining lol

Ive been playing merm on a server and its fun. Respiration helps slow down the air loss while water breathing potions and conduit power lets me breath on land without needing to go back in the water every so often
Isn't there a glass helmet you can craft to make it so you can breathe on land?

It means bye in a couple of languages (it comes from Italian I think, but it has been adopted by others since long ago)
