I lived in the Netherland, and if you are from a latin country like me, feeling emotions and stuff, be prepared to have your heart a bit scratched by the "coldness" of the dutch women, or the culture in general :D. That's being said, dutch people are very friendly at first, but if you want to connect deeper, they start to be very cautious ;). If you love electronic music, that's the country for you tho. You have to speak nearly fluent Dutch to get into their social circles, it is when they start approaching you, because you are part of their world, then it is easy to date them, you meet their families and distant friends too, get invited to bbqs and dinners. They do not bother with foreigners that leave in 1 year and treat them as a hookup. I grew up there as a foreigner, so I have an inside info :)

the approaching thing got me. even tho I'm Dutch. Looking back 20 years ago, I'd go out with my friends and I think guys used to approach more, or maybe that's just the anecdotal bubble I lived in.
No it’s true, it changed a lot even from like ten or so years ago, dutch men used to approach us girls a lot and then dating apps became a thing and it changed dramatically
lol. I’ve noticed a lot of Dutch people seem to “think” they don’t like traditional gender roles, but really they just mean countries with people who look and act radically different from them, AKA Asians and black people. The obsession with Italians, Spanish, Latin Americans (who are SUPER macho/traditional) etc. that I see in a lot of these vids seem to confirm that. Either they have no idea what people from Latin America are like, or when they say gender roles, they only think of stuff like hijabs and forced marriages.
They simply have no idea, not only them, but pretty much the entire world has little to no knowledge on latin america
@@Wetsand348 I wouldn't say they have no idea being that there are Latin Americans living in the Netherlands and TONS in Spain, so they've encountered them. The fact of the matter is that they probably don't have exposure to the poorest Latin Americans, who more likely move to the US if they emigrate. That means that their exposure won't show the worst of machismo. On the other hand, Americans are biased to see the opposite. That said, on every real account, Latin Americans are still less foreign and very much less traditional than the Africans, West Asians and South Asians that Europeans are talking about
As a 40 year old dutch dude I personally don't care about foreign or not. Met many women from various backgrounds and as long as the attraction and interest is there it'll work. For the past 8 years I've been married to a woman from Paraguay. She traveled around and ended up in the Netherlands and stayed. So I didn't even have to go abroad :D as for cultures I wouldn't date. most likely best too avoid american women. My personal preference is the more "mysterious" looking women with darker hair. So South Americans and Asians works for me. Especially since I also love their cuisine compared to boring dutch. I hit the jackpot there ;) In the northern part of Europe we men do approach women. We are just way more private and we also are more critical on who we want to approach. It isn't just being single so I approach everybody. We got standards and patience.

But Marina, I wish you could tell those girls: won't date Chines guys for height?: I'm a French person whose parents are from Manchuria (NE China bordering Siberia) and have met some guys from Manchuria in my college in the U.S. According to them, in Manchuria, the new generation (ppl born after 2000) most guys are 190+;; lots of girls are 180+. lots of guys in the 6'3 -6'7 range. 2 guys are 7'0. notice how no one said they don't prefer African men? It's perfectly acceptable to say they don't like Asian men, but no one is allowed to say No to African people even though they secretly would like to. The bias against Asians is through the roof. (Also, everyone in Western Europe went out onto the streets for BLM, but hardly anyone did the same for ALM although both personally affect people in Europe minimally to zero.)
Men should learn with the Chads of The Netherlands , even though most of the men are over 6'1 ( 184 cms ) , not approach women is nice behaviour
Waiting for women to approach you is the opposite of a Chad move
@@Onche518 a man approaching women can easily be seen like a needy guy wanting their attention
@@oliverfa08 Well it depends how you do it. In France, Spain, Italy it’s almost always the guys who do it
Nah, Chad culture is much more similar to the Italian "macho" culture. Also, the whole point of approaching your person of interest is to show you're needy and want their attention. They need to know that shit if you want to try to get further with them. Whether it's the man or woman who has to initiate this doesn't change that fact, and it's always uncomfortable to be the one to approach, because approaching is always the vulnerable option which will lead to rejection in most cases. That's a fact, regardless of whether you're a man or woman. After all, most people like less than half of the gender of interest well enough to want a relationship with them. Most people marry near to 1 person, and not the entire gender.
Stop chasing girls and let them chase us, men are the prize ❤️

- The language barrier is real. Being able to communicate through a second language is lightyears behind being comfortable expressing yourself in that language. It's not about being scared people judge your language skills or sth. It's just that there's a gigantic difference between being able to say your thoughts out loud in an instant, or having to translate them first. Even if it's just an extra nanosecond you need to formulate your thoughts in the different language, it makes a heck of a difference. - Stop arguing about whether men or women should approach. In the end, it's best for everyone, regardless of gender, to approach when they are interested. You need to do this to show that you are needy and want their attention. This vulnerability is necessary to find out if the relationship could develop further from there. Anyone who wants to succeed in sth big, including getting into the 1 kind of relationship you want, needs to face a lot of discomfort, vulnerability, failure, and rejection before succeeding. It's the way it is. Regardless of gender. This has never been and will never be easy, regardless of gender. And yes, it's uncomfortable to be approached by someone you don't like, regardless of gender. And yes, when approaching one should always keep in mind how the other feels in order to avoid overstepping boundaries. That's all non-gendered. I could see that women might be more easily intimidated by men (considering men are stronger and could easily take them down and rape them). However, that could as easily be an argument as for why they should be the one approaching as for why men should be the ones approaching. - Stop acting like dating is easier/more difficult in different countries. Every country has their own cultural gives and takes, and in most countries this has come to an equilibrium in which both men and women keep marrying. And yes, relationships take a lot from you. They give you a safety net, but cost you a lot during comfortable/safe times. It's always been like that as well for any gender.
Well said ❤
In most countries you are more attractive to locals as a foreigner, in the Netherlands they extract points from that fact, so it is exact the opposite.
The guy at 2:40 looks like a cross between Matt Damon and Jesse Plemons.
They speak english so well. What language barrier ????
To some people it is wearisome to speak in another language or listen to another language (even if such person is fluent, needless to say when they are not). It is a stress that not many people are up to living on a daily basis. To make friends, the foreigner will need to speak the local language at some point as the spouse's friends might not be willing to speak English when they can speak their language among themselves. They won't speak English just for one person. It doesn't make much sense to do so to be honest. Besides, they can have kids and having them exposed to different languages might be confusing and harmful in the beginning as they are going to live in one country and the official language will matter the most after all.
It's just not the same as your native tongue.
If you want to date Dutch people then speak their language or else go find someone else.

The only remedying quality is being tall and blonde hair, I guess... Even though I have seen plenty of potbelly and unfortunate looking men with blonde hair who are 6'4 in white socks and sandals.
This is your ego throwing a temper tantrum.
@@Ed-xv4sy Where is my ego and how am I throwing a temper tantrum?
@@lindamanuel9073 The only positive qualities you mentioned are physical and thus superficial in itself. Most of the men aren't cheapskates at all, especially during celebration days. Seems like you're wrongly informed. Dutch men seek more than that. I know, because I am one.
@@DeafDemoBA Sorry that you're offended but I am simply stating what is being said.
@@lindamanuel9073 No apologies needed, this is soft by Dutch honesty standards ;-)
So I have Dutch ancestry, but New York (New Amsterdam) Dutch roots, and I have to say I don't like the Dutch. The more I get to know about the Dutch from the Knickerbocker days to modern-day Dutch people, the more I feel like I am eating a stale cabbage soup that pissing me and my stomach off.
When are Americans gonna learn that all Europeans really don't care for the whole I have blah blah european ancestry. You don't know nothing about being from said European country unless you have actually lived there or maybe if your parents are from there, you are just some person from the USA. And therefore, of course you can feel disconnected from actual people living there. You are from a very different cultural background. Your ancestry has nothing to do with it in this case and certainly gives you no credit in the matter of liking a countries culture more or less.
