  • @1:37:50 Unbelievable sportsmanship right there. This is what sports should be. One fighter celebrating the victory of the other like they were brothers. Never seen anything like it.

  • Damn man I was getting mad at Jason In that first fight!! For 10 minutes he beat that dudes ass with ground and pound , nearly 400 unanswered shots from Soto on top, and he STILL had to choke the guy out to get the win, that's CRAZY. the 9ther guy wasn't fighting back, that fight was over well before it was stopped. I know it was a title fight..but damn it was a beatdown.

    • Although, it may not be in the same ball park as the absent-minded, colossal failure of a REF that you mentioned, I didn't see the utility in allowing the fight to continue between Soto and Reyes, from the first match, despite Reyes making a more visibly conscious effort to defend himself because, to me, it seemed clear as day that Reyes wasn't quite prepared and, IMO, received an unnecessarily excess amount blunt force trauma then what's deemed necessary to establish defeat due to the hundreds of unanswered punches from Soto... Is there any rule in these title matches that require the REF to jump in when a fighter doesn't, or can't seem to, reciprocate any strikes or are these matched judged in a more elite type category where consciousness is the end-all deciding factor?

  • 2:53:20 The commentator is right, about letting the REF decide when the fight is over, but I do respect fighters who gravitate towards holding back (as apposed to pelting the opponent endlessly) as it proves that they give a shit about the future of any opposition and it also displays a good example of what respecting MMA, as a sport, can look like for future athletes\artists to follow to keep this fantastic, action packed competition thriving for years to come. That being said, Mckee should "most definitely" work on his observational assessment skills in these extremely important, split-second, game changing situations, but it's always refreshing to see fighters striving to only inflict the damage necessary to reach the goal, despite knowing the possibility of potentially lookin a fool as the opponent gets back up 🤣

    • Agreed. I am not trying to disrespect Jason, as I know he cares about the safety of the fighters, but I also think it was a late stoppage. No matter how much you our point him or knock him down, the judges find a way to lay the win on him. He’s a good fighter but he’s been gifted a lot of his wins and bellator should have a better sanction to avoid most of these
