While I agree that she is OP, duchess is one of the rare cards that managed to break a boring meta into a more diverse one. It's baffling how beatdown made a come back after months of repetetive cycle decks
It’s a worse meta in my opinion hog decks and cycle decks were easy to counter since we were used to it now we have to deal with pump and evo bomber and evo zap with the little prince every game it’s just a new era of repetitive cards

This may or may not be a hot take, but I'm happy that the dagger duchess started off broken because she single handedly brought beatdown decks back and have reduced the popularity of cycle decks which, I'm sure we can all admit, have been dominating the meta for a LONG time.
I'm happy to see someone else of the same mind it's fresh to see beatdown again, and I don't even play beatdown
Understandable... but the only problem is when cycle decks were dominating it was not like a total blowout if you were playing beatdown. You could easily win if you knew what were you doing. Dagger duchess has flat out killed the cycle decks to the point where its almost a guaranteed win if the opponent has duchess and you're playing a cycle deck with the princess tower.

I honestly think tower troops were added just to prove a point that the princess tower will always be the most balanced and well rounded. Think about it, both the cannoneer and dagger duchess have a different mechanic that comes with a detrimental weakness meanwhile the princess doesn’t really have a weakness that can be exploited
Princess Tower is a generalist, the others are specialists. Average at everything, or really good at something and really bad at something
There’s plenty of cards that can abuse a princess tower tho, stuff that you absolutely have to defend against if you are using a princess tower

@@White-dj2go You are much more likely to win because the princess is stronger than the fatigued duchess (whose daggers are all burned down in the golem). It's not exactly the tank that's the problem, more so the troops behind it, since after dealing with the main tank, the duchess would have a harder time dealing with the other troops compared to the princess tower. On the other hand, the tank would die faster since it would consume all of the daggers in one go. This isn't strictly for beatdown, any deck that could spam a huge push (maybe after 2x elixir) is a threat to dagger duchess since her fatigued state is much slower and weaker than the princess tower and the longer the attack, the more value the princess tower will get over the dagger duchess. I still personally consider the duchess as stronger since she can easily defend herself against small groups that otherwise can't be ignored (extremely op in 1x elixir), which often is more than enough to compensate for the weakness against large pushes. That said, cannoneer is still the best tower troop against beatdown who does not often rely on swarms. That's why the princess tower is considered the middle ground, she has no weaknesses but also no strengths.
I mean the whole game was developed around the Princess Tower for 8 years. Of course she is the most well rounded
For me, the duchess real problem is that she allows you to avoid defending so many cards in the game when she is at maximum ammo and recharges way too quickly that before x2 elixir, it is very hard to break through the duchess against most players. Nerf the recharge time might work

I was a firm believer the Duchess would be the opposite of cannoneer; Shoots low damage but super damn fast, so better against swarm worse against tanks, while cannoneer is worse against swarm better against tanks

At its core, this game and the concept are amazing. Many cards, real time battle, ANYTHING is possible. The fact that they handle it so poorly and refuse to balance the game is what ruins it

The road to get maxed is almost impossible so it's a long ride. The only good offer was buying the pass royale, but since a year even that isn't worth it anymore. The prices are now much more then it used to be. I mean you can buy passes and offers and so on if you want, but for me it's too much. It's really to much man. I advice you to spent not to much on the game. There are a lot of things to do in life.

I really like the idea of tower troops, it enables and balances the difference between archetypes (not decks). For instance, in a match-up between e-giant and miner poison, miner poison was likely to win. However, with Dugger duchess, now egiant players at least stand a chance. That being said, I wish they didn't block everything they release behind a paywall

I think it’s a cause and effect thing: evo’s encourage people to cycle a lot. Duchess completely changes the interactions with cycle cards. For now, she needs to be nerfed, but later on, once we find a way to nerf cycle a bit, she can be set back to where she is now.

Watching boss for 3 years at this point, doubt i ever missed any video after I started watching him.
I remember before she came out, me and my friends speculated that she would be a multi targeting tower troop but the shots would be much weaker in order to be balanced out. She’d be good vs swarms and not big tanks making her like a counterpart to the cannoneer. Could be a neat idea maybe. Having a slower hit speed than the regular tower troop and only enough damage per shot to take out a skeleton/bat
Each of her daggers do too much damage, I agree. She should be good against Swarm, but melting a hog seems unfair
She’s really not that bad as a concept, but she nullifies like half the decks because unless you have something tanking for another medium troop or swarm, you’re gonna lose the war trying to chip away at her tower. Maybe nerf her dagger regen rate over nerfing the damage 🤷🏽♂️
To be honest I love the fact that we finally got a beatdown meta for once, we had cycle decks (especially miner) being dominant for like years in a roll, and beatdown was never at the top.
Just to heads up, evo skeleton got a nerf where they don't respawn after hitting enemy troops. There are now a delay after hitting enemy troop
As if Clash royale listens to their community feedback....All they do is ban their creators for abusing a bug (which is their fault first of all) for stealing their precious 5 dollars🤡🤡
For just being a content creator, it doesn't mean you have a perk to not get banned for abusing unintended bugs that gives an unfair advantage towards the average player. Just saying you need an MRI Scan

Of course what they did was wrong but the so said bug didn't give them any added advantage like other bugs did... Eg. There have been countless clone bugs where the troops are literally full hp... These bugs give an unfair advantage like u said.... But Supercell didn't care or didn't ban the one's who abused them as it didn't involve their precious money 3. If they wanna be consistent then they should also ban others who are win trading in top ladder and so on... There was bug which literally locked people in entire clans from logging on to the game... They didn't care about those bugs....

Like the other guy said, game bug abusing is far worse, because it affects the people who actually consume the game, which is what your company should usually care for. One thing I gotta say, that riot games is actually doing good at, punishing bug and third party program abusers, while also being fine with messing up something in their client like lootboxes.
I like the ideas of either slower recharge or make her have princess tower hp, not every tower troop needs to have different hp than the regular princess tower, but having even 85-90% of the princess tower hp would be a good starting point for nerfing her, what I would do is make her throw her daggers slower so troops like Ewiz, musk, and hunter actually have a chance to do something against her instead of getting decimated after just being logged arrowed or even zapped in some interactions, I’ll be sad when it gets a nerf because it just pairs so well with pekka bs but it’s 100% necessary, I don’t even remember the last time I faced against cannoneer since the season started 💀
I‘m tower level 14. my dagger duchess is lvl 13. I’m in arena 23, meaning I verse enemies that are tower level 15 every round, as well as completely lvl 15 decks. My tower is two levels below the standard at the trophy range, yet it still performs way better then my princess tower, like I’m talking it saved me so many games where if I had the princess I probably would have lost.
I love dagger dutchess in the meta because there's way too much cycle usually it's nice to see beatdown again

Yeah. Since evo's cycle decks have been too OP. I agree with you I know dagger dutchess is broken but at least it shifted up the meta. I know beatdown is more low skill but it's new seeing everyone use beatdown instead of facing cycle decks every game.
I didn't watch Evo Bats much this season, but I saw Evo Tesla and Evo Valk better, especially Evo Tesla.

I think the overall problem with the duchess is when she is fully charged. She is pretty weak when not but definitely too strong when she is, like there are almost no troops that can survive her burst. Cannoner was the first one getting into this, but when a win condition gets completely countered just by the tower I think we have an issue. Wall breakers don't need to be answered, gbarrel, hog rider, and the list goes on. Making her recharge shower will just make her weakness even more of a weakness which depending on the nerf will just make it useless, instead nerfing overall damage will affect the issues of the burst damage and if is to much they can just adjust the recharge time to make the weakness not that punishable
I love using her mainly cuz she hard counters swarm decks which other tower troops are weak to

That is the big problems. Most troops in clash roayle are design around princess tower and spell. like wb, goblin gang, ... Now SC removed it, making wb can't connect to the tower, disable some troops ability, creating more unabalance game state.
Dagger Duchess gives beat down decks the burst damage they need to fend off low elixir spam- but she also needs protection or else cards that are normally picked off by the princess get 2 to 3 extra hits in on her if left alone- she's awful against swarm and that's intentional, it gives minions and bats more room to shine. I do think that she should have less HP than the princess tower though, it just makes sense for her character.
Even though I really like her attack speed being 1.55s when out of daggers,because it's almost exactly in the middle of Princess and Cannoneer,she should definitely get it nerfed to 1.5,maybe even 1.6s. Also,she should have some where around 2700-2800 HP
Dagger Dutches is so OP it’s maddening. I’m someone who’s never been able to get into top ladder but I do decent is ultimate champion usually ending my seasons around 2k trophies or so. Everyone is playing lvl 15 dagger dutches and I refuse to pay $40 to lvl mine up and I literally cannot compete it sucks 😂
Btw, I tried really hard to find a deck who doesn't use the evolved bomber or the evolved zap. I just counted 2!
If they rework her I hope they make her hit multiple troops at once like maybe 3 or something but of course do less damage because that's what I was thinking the next tower troop would be like
Just into a fight with 5 of em, I beat only one. The strategy is difficult to get but once you do, you got it- Cause it’s not just “blonde princess” you have to deal with, it’s the other cards as well. My main problem is Inferno Tower because of my tanks, so I gotta use Monk to protect and stack ranged units like Archers or Firecracker around him so they’re also protected from Arrows and Logs •3•
Yeah, it's a situation where Duchess is just weak on her own, but when your opponent starts to actually counter push, well, you're screwed.

Funny thing about this (very valid) complaint... when shiwing Dagger Debbie in the top 14 decks you showed that all 14 have evo bomber, evo zap or both. And was little prince ever stomoed on? They used to be naughty, pumping sales of an intentionally broken card for a week or two. it is now a full-tine scam with an entire P2W meta.
Balance changes need to come ASAP. Evo bomber and evo zap are crazy good. I don't get how bomber is a 1 cycle evolution. Such a cheap card should be 2 cycles atleast.
I do definitely like having a more diverse meta but dagger duchess is really annoying for F2P players or players who don't have maxed decks yet. I can't progress on PoL anymore because dagger duchess is everywhere and easily counters my only maxed deck which is a hog rider deck (the 2.8 one with mighty miner and firecracker), my best bet is a mortar deck which isn't fully maxed

This is really one of the first times I’ve refrained from playing ranked. Sure I have some bad games here and there, but against the dagger duchess every game I just can’t compete.
I would like it to recharge at a slower pace, making the window for attacking larger.
There are three tower troops. One will always be best. It isn't like a troop where one chooses between over 100.
It's weird. I'm hearing and seeing what youre saying about its professional usage rate, but at the same time it doesn't seem that bad when youre playing against it. It's not as though she's unbeatable. But I do feel like less health would make her more fair. She's a strong tower card because of her core principle, killing something really fast, but at the expense of waiting to reload. It works in a game like this because opponents (usually) can't constantly beseige tower with a constant onslaught of troops. Theres a lot of waiting time between plays. Her upfront damage makes her appealing because of how this game works. So being able to do more meaningful damage to her when she is vulnerable makes a lot of sense.
Deffo needs a rework, maybe stop the recharge over time and have it recharge closest tower when 1 dagger for each elixir spent?
I think it's fine. It's just that they gave her for free to everyone boosting her usage rate. And it counters the mid ladder nightmare that is hog cycle decks
For a nerf i would say maybe just lower the health of the tower or just decrease her initial 8 dagger speed and keep the recharge time

I was so skeptical of her when she first came out, but she’s won me over too
in my opinion nerfing the reload speed of the duchess would be the worst possible nerf. it would only further encourage spamming at the bridge especially with heavy decks which isn't fun to play against nor is it really fun to be the one playing it. it just creates further divide and makes rock-paper-scissors more apparent against beatdown decks

I maxed her out 3 days after release as a F2P becuase i was saving 20/20 legendery wild cards and book from this christmass (and had EWC from gettinn ult champ previous seasons) so i dont think she is that p2w - a lot of people as i see have done the same and that is why you see her in ladder too

I knew this would end up being a possibility, since I knew we would get a point where Tower Troops will become p2w and broken. Although the cannoneer was not that broken on release, it was still hard to get. But the Dagger Duchess is a different story, its just annoying and OP, although I stopped caring about the game long time ago I also think as harsh as it is, Supercell just has to stop giving us free stuff and act surprised when the use rate is insanely high. The exact thing happened with The Little Prince and it has tortured the meta for months now and only has a high Use Rate on release because they decided to make it for free for players even below the Champion arenas, and it makes it unfair for people who don't have it. We DO NOT need a Tower Troop meta

I must be so bad at the game (even tho I use to reach 1800/1900 ultimate champion trophies every season) that I think the Dagger duchess so little reliable. I keep using Canonneer as my main TT even tho I think it needs a bit of an HP buff.

She probably needs smth like being worse than cannoneer in 5 sec and worse than princess in 12 sec. Extreme early dps but all long term defense has to happen through cards. Double down on her identity as an unsupported push destroyer.

Damage was she isnt to bad but she either need less amo or a longer reload time cuz u literally cant punish anymore and always havw to wait for 2x or even 3x lixer to actually push threw
only thing that makes sense is to release the evo dagger duch and make the usage rate 101%

i still use the princess tower since i have her lvl 14 and the duchess lvl 11, and canoneer on lvl 12.

I've documented over 300 2v2 games, and the firecracker has appeared in ~91% of those games.
Feel like the best way to nerf her is to make her have 1 less ammo and her reload slowed down. Don't know how much but enough to make princess a good option.
Thankfully they gave it for free and we cam easily upgrade it thanks to the wild cards in the season shop.

Duchess ngl needs a nerf and I feel like the ammo she has is quite generous as a defense so I will say rework her and the balance change might be: make her use her ammo much more quickly by making her attack much quicker and making her reload a lil bit quicker in compensation by nerfing how much ammo she can hold

I dont get why her DPS is pretty simiular to the one of the princess while having the 8 Initial attacks and more HP Just increase her reload by maybe 0.4 or make her Deal the Same damage Like princess does

Question, why evolved tesla over the knight or skeletons? It is much weaker, is it for more defensive potential against win conditions for the extra health and stun? It would seem the offensive potential of knight and defense of skeletons would be better, so I would appreciate it if you explained the reasoning behind it.
Evo skeletons are so very easy to counter, if you have a splash unit and/or spell and you react quickly, you'll counter them easily. Knight is a tanky boy, yes, but he doesn't really have much going for him with airborne troops. Tesla, meanwhile, is already a strong defense option without the evo, and their evo pop out electric thing can just wipe swarms, fully counter ram rider/hog rider, attacks airborne, etc etc.

I played clash Royale for like 3 or 4 years consistently and I stopped playing the last year or two and I've recently come back to the game. Wow just way too much, they just add for money. I will say the cannonball Tower one is terrible for small troops. I get destroyed by gallblins and skeletons. But light troops against the duchess is terrible
Prob just a skill issue take but every time i see a tower troop other than princess tower i just give up the other 2 towers just hard counter my deck too hard that it isnt even worth trying

@@eternallife8898 the point is that she is made for cycle so regardless if it is hog rider or miner cycle that's the purpose of the duchess
I play Princess just because my Dagger Duchess is only lvl 10 and my princess is lvl 14. I will equip it when it reaches lvl 12 but this is hard for F2P
Why should it get a rework or nerf because it is actually reliable and not trash like the cannoneer launch?
one of my friends is 9000 trophies but is f2p and can’t use a level 10 dagger dutchess, obviously. and it really sucks
