For all the rowers out there that don't think they are tall enough for the sport, just remember that 1 seat in the USA boat was 6'0.
what if you aren't 6'0
@@johnnyhart6801consider coxing
@@samcaplan4646 Or Lightweight rowing.
😭😭at first glance I was inspired until I realized I'm still 3 inches down
i'm 6'0 at 15 but i think i wont be growing much more. thx!
I love when the American goes and hugs the Netherland rowers. It really shows what rowing and the Olympics is about
if you look closely its actually a dutch supporter that started swimming from the side when they finished. its a dutch tradition.
Yea that's when people loved sport and didn't kneel or wear pig socks and become national heroes.
Umm yeah my dad (Canada) would intimidate the other teams mainly the us lmao so
They were very dominant throughout the whole race. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
My coach was in that boat
What seat was he in or the Coxswain?
40 years later Team USA Men's Rowing getting their gold medal in Athens 2004 Summer Olympic Games.
The coxswain looks like the ‘mini me’ of stroke seat 😂😂
My grandpa won that
We all LOVE(d) ted,......Will forever.
USA 🇺🇸
Cool vids, I subbed!
That's a fast time, but there didn't seem to be any tailwind. I heard some of the 1964 gold medal eight (USA, Vesper BC) were there to watch--true?
It would be more than fair to they were there.Blessing to them ALL forever,......"ALL TOGETHER".
A belted thank you boys in the boat, awesome
Even spacing at 38? Incredible!
What do you mean?
@@hamishgamble3870 38 strokes per minute
@@prestomagic2356 yeah, I row, I could work that bit out, but what does the even spacing bit mean
@@hamishgamble3870Even spacing is when the puddles from bow and 2 make it past stroke and 7 before they take their stroke. It gives 7+8 the best lock on. It takes immense power to do it a high rates.
@@-ace-4067 thanks
My dad and uncle rowed for Canada
anyone know where there is video of the heat?
This sport is a calling
"First US rowing gold since '64?" What about Lewis and Enquist in '84? Just referring to sweep and not sculls?
Probably just the men's eight
🇺🇸 USA 🇺🇸 ♥
Wow, USA was so strong in the middle, really surprised Dutch were even able to make it a race
Which crew is the one that is screaming and grunting at the start?
+Harryofsol Probably all of them
The us dominated every body else
nice
seems like Netherlands could have won, if they would have started with the sprint earlier.
That’s like saying yeah they would’ve won if they were faster
I wished canada would have gotten into medals in here?
USA! USA! USA! USA!🇺🇸🇺🇲🇺🇸🇺🇲
USA = 💩

Merci, Jean Pierre.
I love rowing and want to get into the sport and get to the olympics eventually but I am not a showy, masculine bro type guy at ALL - that's my main worry 🤣
That will come with rowing, if you eat enough too!
Don’t worry about it. We had a couple of six foot four nerds in our boat and no one cared. All kinds of personalities too.
That’s not the personality of rowers. You must be thinking about other sports
They win their first gold for forty years? How exactly do you know they won’t win gold in the next forty years?
that means they hadn't won a gold in 40 years until this race...
@@isaacbassett4390 I'd ready that as 40 years in the future, English is a strange language. For 40 years in the past it should be "first gold in 40 years". Easy to understand what they meant though

Yes! Well done! It's like a gold medal of your own. Your parents must be so proud.
