  • Shocking brushing over of Holmes' contribution. A true pioneering legend of British rowing who has been airbrushed out of history. Shows you what power Redgrave has.

  • 1984 was an excellent year for 🇬🇧. Torvill & Dean in Sarajevo. And then Redgrave & Co, Sanderson, Thompson and Coe in LA.

    • It has to be Richard Budget because he has a doctorate in history and Martin Cross and Sir Steve Redgrave both do other things to do with rowing still

    • Could be Martin Cross, he is / was a teacher at Hampton School, taught many great rowers!

  • Mike Spracklen has such a distinctive voice. I'd recognise it without seeing him.

  • I remember it like it was yesterday. Do your victories define your life, or does your life define your victories?

    • +Adrian Ellison You're in danger here of sounding a bit like a certain (other) commentator / cox with his "If not now then who? If not you then when?" call to the Searle brothers! ;-)

  • I don't know about giving a gold to the "bow position" guy. He is like a coach on the boat in a sense.

    • without a cox it would be infinetly harder to steer the boat and row due to the lack of motivation and without distance gauges you cannot have a race plan because you dont know where you are on the track.
