How to Remove Visceral Fat Using Spices in Your Kitchen | Dr. Mandell

2021 ж. 14 Қар.
1 605 391 Рет қаралды

Visceral fat is body fat that is stored within the abdominal cavity and is therefore stored around a number of important internal organs such as the liver, pancreas and intestines.
Visceral fat is sometimes referred to as ‘active fat’ because research has shown that this type of fat plays a distinctive and potentially dangerous role affecting how our hormones function.
Storing higher amounts of visceral fat is associated with increased risks of a number of health problems.

    • You've said a mouthful, I also thank God for doctors that care. You were clearly understood here, nobody's saying that he's not making money, your point is money isn't his main focus, health is, he has to make an income Just as anyone else who works. This doctor uses his gift well. The word of God (Proverbs 18:16) let us know that your gift will make room for you meaning if you use it wisely, not in a manipulative manner and for those that might say, what about those who scam and they have massive following? Well, they still have a gift that God gave them yet are not using the gift in the power of God, but by their own motives and soon will crash as they are already walking a failing path. It may look like they're winning, but they're not.

  • In Greece we follow the Mediterranean diet. Every family buys their olive oil for the year rough estimate for cooking and salad preparation around a litre per week for family of 3. Olives are collected early winter in Nov Dec. Mediterranean diet consists of fatty fish once or twice a week like sardines red mullet mackerel bogue all types of lentils and beans greens like endives chicory notchweeds boiled in salted water and served adding olive oil lemon sakt pepper all the above apart from the fish are either cooked or served in olive oil. Walnuts or almonds just a few like in your palm for the day is enough. Consumption of olives is accompanied with daily food. Meat is preferred once a week. Dairy products: goat or sheep yogurt ( full of prebiotics) not cow's yoghurt, seasonal fruit only not greenhouse grown. Herbal teas of any kind served with a teaspoon of honey pinch of the following cinnamon curcum and powdered cloves as antioxidants. Greek tahini a paste similar to peanut butter in taste made of sesame seeds full of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. The perfect snack is a tablespoon or two of olive oil mixed with drops of lemon juice and little bit of salt pepper and Oregano ( which is an antioxidant) and dip a rusk or slice of wholewheat bread. A SMALL glass of red wine accompanying one meal. Walking and in summer swimming and basking in the sun for vitamin d. If you can and you're not working or even during the weekends if possible take a nap 30 min in the afternoon Just some tips from a Greek 😊 For longevity also check Ikaria island Greece they live past their 90's and 100's.

  • For folks looking for help with portion control: 1. Buy some children's dishes from the toddler section at Walmart or your local dollar store. They're smaller serving sizes and usually sectioned. You can always get a second serving but you're going to feel like you have eaten more than you actually have because the smaller plates and bowls look more full. 2. Portion out snacks ahead of time into small baggies/ziplocks and place these back into the box or bag of the snack container. This way, you can open the box or bag, grab your snack pack and enjoy without the added stress of counting your portion or giving in to overeating then beating yourself up about it. 3. Prepare your larger meals ahead of time and store them in your fridge or freezer in smaller containers. This way, your meal is already portioned out and you can just enjoy it without those nagging voices in your head making you feel guilty. Hope this gives folks a couple ideas to try out.

    • Get rid of the snacks! Every time food goes into the mouth the insulin spikes! You don't want your blood sugar and insulin on a roller coaster, going up and down multiple times each day. Eat 1-2 times a day, with 16 hours between the last and first meal of the day. And eat foods that keep insulin steady! Very low carb, higher protein, and adequate amounts of healthy fats to be satiated.

And it’s sad seeing obese and out of shape sickly looking Drs and seeing nurses and Drs outside of hospital doors, smoking like chimneys. I don’t look to Drs for health… if I have a broken bone or bleeding from a bad wound… I’ll go see a Dr. I’ve found more chiropractors, physical therapists and overall health “nuts” are the best people to get nutrition and health advice. This “doc” is good. All healthy great advice. I Drs make their money prescribing pills. I have a good friend who was my GP for many years when I lived in a different state.

I was back to my orginal size which was a 7. My whole entire body was proportioned. I didn't realize Fedex, Ups, Amazon and etc. worked like that until I was in their shoes. However, once I slowed up on working with them. I got a personal trainer bc that gave me the motivation to do more for myself . Sometimes we tend to forget about ourselves and take care of others. And that's exactly what I did, keep up the good work. 💛

    • I was on a liquid diet when I learned about the keto diet. I didn't want to stop the liquid diet... so I decided to categorize whipping cream as a liquid, and I whipped it up using stevia to sweeten it. This helped me drop more weight than I ever thought possible. I had been very healthy and active most of my life, and my weight was usually around 120 pounds on a 5'4" frame. Pregnancy got me up to 145. My goal was usually to get down to 115, which was possible with a lot of exercise, but hard to maintain. However, when I went on keto, and specifically a liquid keto diet high in whipped cream (stevia sweetened) the pounds just kept coming off. I didn't even exercise. Anything under 111 pounds is considered underweight for me, but I wanted to see if I could get lower, and pushed it down to 105 pounds. Of course, whipped cream lost it's appeal for awhile! Currently I'm at 128, and considering the whipped cream diet again. Definitely take a green drink if you do this, as their aren't any nutrients in whipped cream.

  • Thank you Dr.Mandell, for being so Kind and thoughtful to share your wealth of knowledge with those of us that need to lose weight. I am listening to you and following your advice, since I need to lose weight. After I watched this video today, I went food shopping and bought chia seeds, apple cider vinegar and whole foods, such as eggs, steel cut oatmeal, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, fresh fruit, almonds, walnuts, and unsweetened almond milk, for smoothies. I always have Extra Virgin Olive Oil, since I'm Italian, and I always buy Lemons weekly, since when I was a child my grandparents had Lemon Trees in their backyard, I used to love picking fresh lemons off the trees and eating the whole lemon, plain, without sugar. I've always loved them and still do! Certain items are a staple in my home, like Cinnamon, Paprika, Cayenne Pepper, Assorted Black and Green Teas, Honey. Unfortunately I suffered a tragic loss 2 years ago. My partner Rob unexpectedly passed away in his sleep from an aneurysm in our bed. I was so devastated and consumed with grief the first year that I completely stopped eating the Mediterranean Diet, as I have my entire life. All I did was Only Eat Sugar Products. I completely cut out regular meals and replaced them with sugar, like a Pint of Ice Cream, cause I knew if I ate sugar, I'd go to sleep and I just didn't want to continuously think about Rob and cry. I had to keep my emotions in check for the sake of my dear only child, my 15year old daughter, who was also grieving the loss of Rob., and was watching me very closely and if she saw me upset and crying, it upset her very much. I've never had to lose weight before, with the exception of after my daughter was born, but fortunately between hourly feedings and lack of sleep, the weight rapidly dropped off without any effort on my part. So I truly did not even know how to begin losing weight. 6 Thanks to God and You, now I do. God Bless You 🙏🏾

    • What Is the Gospel of Jesus Christ? The teachings and Atonement of Jesus Christ are central to His gospel. The gospel of Jesus Christ is our Heavenly Father's plan for the happiness and salvation* of His children. It is called the gospel of Jesus Christ because the Atonement of Jesus Christ is central to this plan. Ephesians 2:8-9 New International Version 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. Romans 10:9-10 New International Version (NIV) If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.😊

  • Dr. Mandel, may God bless you beyond words. This is one of my favorite videos of yours. As a youth, my parents used to have me drink warm lemon water every morning. I thought it was a form of punishment. As soon as I got older and moved away; I stopped. Years later, after I had my children and was trying to lose my belly fat, I was speaking with one of my brothers when he bought up the warm lemon juice again. I cut the conversation short. No one had ever taken the time, or me for that matter to understand the benefits of that concoction. I used to take two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in four teaspoons of water. Horrible tasting. Of course because I was told to drink it wrong. Once again you’ve given me a wealth of information. Also, your comment section is liberating. Thank you so much for being you. Bless you and your family ❤❤❤

  • I drink ACV and lemon water every morning. Two tricks I've found. Squeeze the lemons all at one time and freeze in an ice tray. One cube is equivalent to half a lemon. Trick two: warm up the water to body temp (lemon a little more because it will cool down with ice). Put lemon cube in 6 oz water in one cup. Put ACV in 6 oz in another cup. Without the cups right under your nose, take a deep breath and hold it. Chug down the ACV first and immediately the lemon. If you don't smell it, you won't taste the ACV. Likewise if you don't take a breath right after. The lemon water after washes it out of your mouth so you will only taste the lemon water.

  • Great videos! Perhaps you could make a video about Alzheimer’s being ultimately about Sugar resistance in the brain. Also, if I’m not wrong that the development of the “goop” in the brain that simply put causes Alzheimer’s in the brain later on, begins collecting in our 40’s and 50’s. For those of us who are dealing with the horror of seeing a beloved parent suffering from Alzheimer’s / Dementia, this should scare you enough to drop whatever you’re eating right now and getting a salad made with Olive Oil and Apple Cider vinegar. I make a beautiful salad with Spring Mix Greens, Cucumber, Muliticolor Cherry Tomatoes, Shaved Carrot, Finely Minced Kale (easier to chew) kept on hand, I keep Broccoli Slaw handy and throw it all into a big beautiful bowl. I toss in a few tbsp. of Sunflower seeds, shaved Almonds, Pumpkin seeds and of course CHIA seeds! (Warning denture wearers……they will may get stuck underneath and it’s akin to having “rocks in your shoes.” (you get my drift…….)……..tiny seeds under your dentures hurts like a ***** I then make a basic vinegrette (1 part Vinegar to 3 or 4 parts Oil) A bit of Dijon, Minced Garlic, Salt and Pepper to taste. Play around with Apple cider vinegar and maybe add a bit of seasoned Rice Wine vinegar to sweeten, or honey with your Olive Oil. I sometimes crush (not to powder, but smaller pieces) croutons to the finished salad for extra flavor, as they will soak up the vinaigrette. We eat with our eyes and there is nothing easier and more appetizing than a gorgeous salad. I also alternatively use Balsamic Vinegar for a sweeter version. I use the spring Mix, same Broccoli slaw, Kale, but also add Quinoa. Then strawberries if available, and add Dried Cranberries and Pumpkin seeds and Sunflower seeds with the sweeter vinaigrette. Make your own so that you can control the purity and even a novice can Google a basic vinaigrette and I guarantee that it will be better than a store bought version any day. * I advise you to make small batches at first with maybe a 1/4 of oil, but MAKE NOTE to the amounts you are using of everything. I STILL haven’t made the most perfect version that I made on my 1st try. Pretty great versions trying to re-create it, but WHY can I not replicate it exactly? MY BAD for not making notes…:( I am disabled and can’t stand very long, but having pre-cut, pre-washed stuff ahead of time makes quick work of a dreamy salad at any time. I have to say that storing your vinaigrette in a clean plastic water bottle (bottled drinking water) if you don’t have a glass jar handy makes it easy to store, Pre-shake before every use to get oil and vinegar to re-emulsify and the smaller Opening of the water bottle is easier to pour perfect amount over salad. I also use one of the 1/2 size (looks like child size) bottled water made by Nestle. I try to avoid the plastic waste of drinking bottles, and keep only for guests in need of cold water and when traveling out for the day to save money on buying Drinks. I only just recently found the small size bottles. They are also handy to keep different vinaigrette’s and no need to necessarily label them, as you can see through the bottle. The Nestle brand water actually has an open spot to write your name on the bottle. Smart with kids and at parties! GOD BLESS you Dr.Mandell for your info and taking the time to make these videos.

  • I remember 30+ years ago when my grandma use to put lethicin powders to a banana smoothie. I eat a lot of yams in place of potato and add either my cinnamon and or organic pumpkin spice to them and it’s delicious. I bought some milk thistle too at my old co-op i use to volunteer at and put it in my morning smoothies. Thank you for the reminders on adding apple cider vinegar, lemon, and lime to my water as well as consuming chia seeds. I actually have an un-opened #10 can of chia seeds as well as an organic bag of them in the freezer. I’m going to start adding these into my smoothies too. Thank you for all these great motivating tips doc, your de 💣. 😃

  • Great videos! Thank You Dr Mandel. This should be taught in all schools and Home Economics. They have cooking and baking shows now for kids why not teach and include cooking classes where the kids make meals with only healthy ingredients. If only we were all taught this in school 40/50 years ago Imagine how healthy the U.S. population would be now? Thank You for your videos Dr Mandel, they are very educational and love watching them.

    • years ago when i went for my annual physical, the nurse practitioner told me i had hyper(or hypo)thyroidism and gave me a prescription for meds that she said i’d have to take for the rest of my life.. i had always been healthy, so this came out of left field… i just couldn’t believe it… i took the rx, left the office and never filled the prescription and then forgot about it until the next annual… i asked her the following year “how’s my thyroid?”… she looked at the blood test results and said “oh, it’s normal”… ☹️ i never took the rx she told me to take… never had any thyroid issues since then… i felt like had i taken the rx, it could have messed me up… i didn’t even change my diet that year… always get a second opinion… 😕

  • Awesome, TY! Other part of this is what you put in your body reflects on the outside. Your skin will become more radiant. Sugar is the enemy - our FDA needs to stop the GOOD RO GO STAMP on foods and also make the manufacturers make the dietary labels more readable. So much is hidden and people fall for it or don’t not read into it. Be careful when purchasing food. Good luck to everyone with their path to a healthier lifestyle!

  • I love this Doctor, iv learned more in the last 2 weeks from him on weight loss. I haven't got that much to lose really but I do have Angina and my cholesterol was so high after lockdown and me eating fats like chips and just plan rubbish. Iv stopped now. I went on a 2 week on of fast , 1 day on 1 day of but eat very little, hardly anything. I gained 2 stone during lockdown. Worst thing is I new I was gaining but didn't care ? Thought its nothing untill I couldn't get into my nice cloths. 🙃 iv lost 10lb, I would like to lose 14lb more , I will do it iv had engough. The fasting helped kick start me. Also exercise. I bought new scales because I thought my older ones were broken. They weren't I am over weight for my height 5ft. Also I now have a bulging disc in my back. Suffered back problems for years . I have found just losing 10lb has helped my back. Told the doc that just today on the phone. He was shocked I'd lost 10lb, to me it's nothing. I would just like to say yes I also used to buy myself apple cider vinger and I stopped. Long story but I just sort of gave up. Not anymore I'm back on track , those chest pans I started getting were more then Angina and being alone most of the time I got so scared. So made a chocie on my own not to buy the cheap sugar fat foods , and to eat less. I don't need that amount of rubbish in my body. Thank you to this guy he has helped me. ❤️
