Hats off to Bethany. She had the guts to say what needed to be said. Rip Curl is going to feel the reverberations of this foolish decision for a long time.

The fact they got rid of an incredible disabled woman who lost her arm to a shark, and determined, got back on the board, is what really disgusts me. She is an incredible role model. Now, theyve hired a fetishistic male instead that posts fetish puctures of himself.

@@Unfluencer I find it disrespectful to minimize someone's disability like that (aka gaslighting). She is disabled/has a disability - literally an amputee yet you're trying to change the dictionary (just like the woke crowd btw trying to change the meaning of women). As someone who is disabled myself - your comment is offensive (though I'm assuming not meant to be which is why I'm commenting at all). Being disabled or having a disability is a trait - it doesn't define someone. It almost always makes things more difficult which means having to work harder to succeed (or even do the basics such as getting dressed for the day - you ever tried putting on clothes one handed before? It can be done but takes more effort and time). Which means it shouldn't be looked down on, but you should respect how much effort is put in to do as well or even better than those without a disability. Of course - this is my personal opinion as someone with disabilities, not everyone is the same or has the same opinions even if they are in the same or similar situation.
Men in women’s sports will only stop when women refuse to compete against them. Its your fight ladies.
It's an abomination. Let trans athletes stop beating up on genuine women athletes and compete against one another.
But if women refuse to compete against them then that signals the end of women's sport. There'll just be men's sport and "women's" sport for the men in frocks. Women should not have to penalise themselves.
It's everyone's fight. What if they end up competing against one of your children or younger relative. Biological men do not belong in woman's sport.

From talking to my own son, and judging by things I've seen starting to crop on the internet, gen-z is waking up to the fact that the whole trans thing is a bunch of bullcrap. Every generation seems to pick a subject on which they decide that the previous generations are a bunch of liars, and I think this might be the one for gen z or gen alpha. I mean, it's the sort of difference a toad can figure out, so it was hubris to think the kids wouldn't.

Like the genius leading Bud Light marketing, Rip Curl is led by a woman called Brooke Farris. Brook consciously decided to fire an inspirational female surfer like Bethany in favor of endorsing some weasel with implants called 'Sasha' in the hope of gaining her brand some social favor. Let's hope for her sake that the micro-niche transgender surfer market that Brooke Farris is so earnestly courting, picks up the slack for all the massive market share that she just lost. I wish Brook Farris good luck with that.

I had a rip curl jacket from the winter ones (the "good stuff") and it wasn't SO good. Even years ago (when most of the brands were working with quality materials that were most often one of a kind) they still were not the thing, so there is no point of buying their products now.
