In this video I show you how to take part in the Drift racing series gamemode, introduced as part of the Chop shop DLC content update in Grand theft auto Online!
This content update allowes players to modify their car so that it can take part in drift races which involves gaining as many style points as possible as opposed to simply racing for the fastest time!

    • Makes me feel like 6 will be intentionally held back for them to trickle in things to add over the years. With 5 they didn’t see it as well, knowing what they know from the online community now, it could get worse lol.

    • This was taken from their acquisition of FiveM earlier in the year. On FiveM you've been able to drift in GTA for years. The new burnout in the drag races has also been taken from FiveM.

  • This DLC actually made me want to do races again. There’s a LOT I could complain about. But I’m just gonna chalk this up as a win for drifters tbh. Considering it’s GTA this is a very VERY fun addition. Now I’m just hoping they add the ability for players to create drift races

  • I like how this not completely switches the whole car simulation .. but it also changes how camera works.

  • I imagined the new drift tunes would make drifting be akind to NFS Underground. But for me, it's like power-sliding in Crash Team Racing games where the game makes it easier to gain or maintain speed during a slide. Or that's because I used to drift with just low grip tires? 😅

  • I think Rockstar used the drift mod that all the drift servers have in fivem because the drifting feels similar to the drifting mod. I hope they add this to all the vehicle

  • I hope R* will make it so you can switch normal and drifting modes. Since that wouldnt make the car completely unusable outside of the drift races.

  • I had the same worry that this mode will dye off soon but since its part of the LSCM series of races, that hopefully means that the drift series will be included in prize ride challenges. But who knows with Rockstar.

  • Also, maxing out its engine upgrades, transmission, turbo, etc., allows the drift tune to consistently travel at a rate of 3 seconds faster. Been tested and confirmed.

  • Gotta give them credit for persistence, the tuners update didn't work as they wanted, so they tweaked it, and then just revamped everything. I respect drift racing like I do figure skating, Sure, there's faster ways of getting across the rink, but it's got style, and that effing counts.

  • Can you please review the police cars because I'm trying to buy one and I want to know whether it'll be good in you know whether it will actually be good I now I'll probably have it by the time you make the video but I'd like to know if it'll be a good investment for a long time because I like to mess around a lot but also like to you know see if it's actually a good and cool vehicle to own in the long run

  • If you want more realistic drifting then something like AC is good, and it won't die because it's one of the things the car community has wanted for a long time now and the drifting feels like it does on the modded servers so it's just right imo.

  • 3:29 RL drifting often uses actual grippy tires... GTA have to compensate for this because of its weird driving physics that was never built around drifting

  • I really hope in 6 they just let us tune the cars how we want, like we can in forza. I get that thats not what the games about, but if youre gonna go as far as putting drift tunes in cars in a game about crime, you might as well just let us tune them to handle how we want.

  • What’s the point of blocking the performance upgrades like cmon rockstar.Ive also heard even though it says the mods are removed they are actually still there u just can’t change them. I bought it before I upgraded engine just to realize it wasn’t there anymore

  • Incredibly lazy to only give us 8 vehicles when there was literally a street racing / drift update a while back with a good amount of vehicles that could be good with this tune so I'm confused to why they decide to go with only eight

  • Drifting has always been bad in GTA5, its like the traction control is always on and the cars have no torque in a turn. GTA4 did it best
