@@StevieWunderKidim tuned brother no doubt about that! these next videos are what i really need so im stoled forsure!

All you have to do is tap R1/RT on turning. The wheels at the back go slippery and twist the back bumper and tap it again when accelarating slightly slower on the corners so your car is aligned upon the road. Around the corner

been trying to convince my friends to go drifting with me ever since tuner shop came out and never could, i showed them this video when it came out and weve been cranking out runs at the observatory every night since, now they wanna learn how to tandem. ty
That's amazing man, glad I could help you and your friends out! Thanks for the support!
great job on making this, the combination of starting out with the bare basics, then combining them as you progress really help. The only thing I never really had much practice in was donut proximity, when going into pro levels, I did do more of proximity for hitting clipping points and outer zones, but not anything with donuts. I will definitely have to work on that. Also, for steering input, I learned this a long time ago when I myself was learning. There is a method in steering that I use that I rarely see anyone use. I call it the Rolling Technique, where I am using the outer barrier of the stick and rolling it along the outer ring to steer. This helped me really get into the more precise steering, allowing me to make small steering changes while still doing extreme movements instead of slightly turning in either direction at small increments (tbh this is really more useful for getting clean and realistic steering for cinematics just because I hate the visual look of spamming left and right. Better to have slight turns and only change it in extreme cases to look better than to go function only and spam.) Looking forward to what you do with intermediate and pro levels of drifting. I hope you bring tandem into play cuz I never see anyone doing tutorials on tandem, and everyone I drift with can't seem to do it...tandem well anyway.
Thanks for the kind words and advice man! I think I do instinctively use that rolling method you talked about with steering, but it's not conveyed all that well with just the controller overlay - maybe I'll add this in a future video! As for tandems, not sure if I'll be able to work this in to these guides, but it's definitely worth teaching - if not there, possibly in a separate future video.
@@StevieWunderKid that would be great! I haven't seen anyone really make any tandem tutorial videos. the only thing I can say is if you are getting really close, use the brake to manage the distance, and slow down when transitioning to avoid hitting the leader. There is also 2 main parts of tandem, imo. It is Bumper-to-Bumper- and Door-to-Door. D2D is mostly keeping the bumper to the leader's door and B2B is keeping your bumper aligned with their back bumper. I will often do B2B as in GTA its hard to maintain D2D due to some cars straightening out and potentially hitting the leader. it isn't much to teach, but some people really need visuals for stuff like this. Also, I didn't specify about the rolling technique, I will often have the stick pushed forward when going straight, and roll along the barrier at varying distances to turn. it helps with small changes, but I will often overcorrect (basically the sense of forced feedback in a wheel, just constantly moving instead of staying steady) should probably do something about that, though.
Thank u for this all in one foundational knowledge, God bless
Anytime man, happy to help! Thanks for watching!

Anytime my dude, always happy to help!
As a ps4 player and a carx and assetto player that has been playing proffesional drift events in those 2 games these tips helped me out and also CONTROL YOUR SPEED never floor it if u want to go for a clean angle that will make you spin out and u need to be out for heavy feedback by your controller the heavy feedback is a upshift so be on the lookout
Happy to hear these tips have been helpful! However, as someone who's been drifting in GTA 5 for years, I can confidently say that you should be flooring it most of the time haha - this is to overcome the strong 'traction control' mechanics in GTA 5. You can see in the video that, for the most part, I am flooring it, but I did talk about cases where you can let off slightly and steer a bit more with the throttle.
@@StevieWunderKid yeah i agree but with sharper angles its better to go easier the hardest part is actualy controlling your oversteer lol anyways very helpful 10/10 would recommend

You are amazone thx
I appreciate the kind words :)
Incredible bro. And the drift depends on the wheels too?
Thanks man! And beyond equipping low-grip tires and stance, wheel choice doesn't impact driftability all that much - I discuss this a bit more in my tuning guide, but for the most part, you can run whatever wheels you want.
@@StevieWunderKid Really thx bro!!

No problem dude, thanks for watching!
Can i ask what spoiler does, like if i put on a big spoiler does it increase traction or somethint? Also great video keep it up
Yes, any spoiler (regardless of size) will increase traction on every car - that's why we normally leave it off for a drift build. Thanks for watching!
the Initial D 86 🔥
Yup!
Broo ur insane at drifting. Could you make a PC version since I don't have a controller or a wheel. I play KBM.
Unfortunately I don't think I have the skill to make a good keyboard & mouse tutorial; I discussed this at the beginning of the video, and linked some good guides in the description that should help!
Yo, is the elegy retro custom on the elegy rh8 is a good drift car ?
The Elegy Retro Custom is one of the best AWD drift cars in the game, was featured in my first video on that topic. However, the Elegy RH8 has way too much grip, so it's a horrible drift car haha
I had such an easier time using the banshee for simple stuff like this. I bought the futo gtx to improve my general drift ability but now I'm struggling to get more than a few donuts without losing it
Most people I've talked to have had the exact opposite experience since the Futo GTX is on the slower side and holds way more angle haha. But hey, if you find the Banshee works better for the training you're doing, that's okay!
Does not having turbo help or hinder while learning to drift? Im not ranked high enough or my rep is not high enough with the LS club on console
Won't really affect much for these basic, lower-speed drifts! Plus, cars like the Futo GTX have a bit more power to begin with so you're good for now. In the future, for higher-speed drifts, it might help you out!
Probably a bit late to this party, but hoping you can shine some light on an issue I'm having. I have a Futo GTX, and it's already set with a drift kit. However, I can't find an option for low grip tires in the LS Meet, nor can I change the stance from my interaction menu. Am I missing something?
Same problem , did you find that ??
Keep in mind though, some cars like the Sultan Classic use different drivetrains. Sultan Classic is awd so it's a bit more difficult than something like the Futo.
Exactly, that's why I've only covered the use of RWD cars in this video (2:49). I've talked a bit about the difficulty of AWD drifting in future portions of this guide.
The Sultan Classic is better than Futo.
@@patriciovivas2270 What are you on about? It’s AWD so it’s more difficult to do, you need more upgrades to be able to do it well
@@KhaosInductionCreator in handling, acceleration and tuning
@@patriciovivas2270 It’s not better for DRIFTING. This is a DRIFTING video you are aware of that? Not a RACING video
Does it matter how I customize the cars or do I have to put stuff on that’ll help it drift better?
Yes it does, everything you need is shown in the video.
Would you say dinka jester classic is a good drift car?
Not at all haha. Way too grippy and snappy, not enough power, plus it's got the slow handling flags that prevent you from being able to hold out longer drifts using the mid-drive speed boost. Probably one of the worst drift cars in the game in my opinion.
Next make an advanced guide using the gt ❤❤
I may switch up my car choice for the final (advanced tutorial), haven't decided yet. As for the intermediate guide, I'm gonna stick with the Futo GTX.
@@StevieWunderKid mad, as long as the car ain't slow or has a bad mid drag then nw
Thabks much for this vidéo, can get this activity for train pls ?
If you're on Xbox I've got the job linked in the description!
is that car in the first shot mooded or can you get it normally
You can get it normally lol, this is all discussed in the video.
do you have a tutorial for drifting with keyboard up?
Nah, unfortunately I don't think I have the skill to be able to make that happen - I've only exclusively drifted with a controller so I wouldn't be able to make a useful keyboard-specific guide. However, a lot of the tips covered in the video will roughly carry over, and I have some better keyboard guides from other content creators linked in the description.
I actually think that stock suspension with lowered stance (of the "ls tuners update") is better, idk, probably personal preference
Yeah they do feel pretty similar, so go with whatever feels more comfortable!
@@StevieWunderKid I just think that it makes the car less likely to spin out that much. Btw the video was really good :3
This is a great video. I feel like I’m getting better, but I am still terrible at this. Hopefully someday. 😂😂😂
Much appreciated man, good luck on your journey - you'll get there!
1/3 just send it drop a 2 hour special
I may do this to be honest, gonna release everything individually first and then revisit throwing everything into one video!
for better and more advanced results, don't use low grips. Just initiate the drift faster
Not how that works at all, really. Low-grip tires are beneficial for drifting at any speed since it makes it that much easier to fight GTA 5's "traction-control" mechanics and link together proper drifts, especially when you use the mid-drive speed boost (which I discuss in the advanced tutorial).
@@StevieWunderKid sorry I probably should have clarified this before. This is for what I call speed drifting, like downhill drifting initial D style. With gta's mechanics, the only way to do this is with a hell of a lot of speed, which the downhill and double clutching helps with, but also requires a lot of grip, which is where the non low grip tires come in. If you want to see it in action, skip to 12:24 of my 15 minute video on my YT. And tbh I've had much cleaner runs than that one but haven't uploaded them.
I was drifting the phfister neon 4wd it get crazy angles u can drift sideways and recover
Pretty fun car for sure! There's a bunch of other good AWD EV cars that are surprisingly great for drifting, you should try those too!
Does bookmarking jobs work anymore? It says I did but I dont see it on GTA.
Bookmarking jobs will only work if you're playing on the exact same console the job was made on. The links in the description are for Xbox Series and PS4 consoles only, so if you're on anything else they won't work :(
Where on the map is this spot? im tryna practice the slaloms and its tough to find evenly spaced pillars like in the video.
I placed down all the pillars and stuff manually in the race creator, the map (Xbox-only) is linked in the description. It's all located at the military base (Fort Zancudo), so if you're not on Xbox you could still replicate the map pretty easily. Either that, or the LS Car Meet is another good spot to practice the basics!
@@StevieWunderKid Thanks g! wish you the best with your channel. Ill see u on the intermediate video real soon😈

bro I need to know how do I get the Karin futo gtx? or even the Karin futo? I don’t play online btw idk if it’s exclusive to online or I gotta buy a pack or something someone answer me I’m begging 😭
The Karin Futo GTX is an Online-only car. I showed where to get the normal Karin Futo in the video!
Is it way more difficult to drift without low grip tires, for example in Story Mode?
Not as much as you'd think - for some cars, stancing them manually (as shown in the video) provides a similar effect as equipping low-grip tires. You can do either method, and you'll still be able to drift just fine!
thx for the response, I revived my old ps3 because of slidey cars cheat@@StevieWunderKid
Does this work with Drag Spl tires on a Futo without stancing?
If you're using low-grip tires, yes, everything here will work.
What’s the livery on the Karin futo
I think its called 'Delivery Boy' or something like that - just look for the words on the doors haha
i can only play story mode so i dont have low grip tires what should i do instead
You can stance your car manually using the method discussed in the video! If you want a bit more insight on that, feel free to check out my tuning guide.
🔥
When i drift my car finds grip way too quickly( ocelot F 620) what customization do i put on my car to have less grip and traction and i dont have access to low grip tires
I'd recommend trying another car like the Futo or the other cars I talk about in this video, they will all handle much better than the F620. I have a drift build guide linked in the description as well that will help you pick out the right parts and show you how to stance your car manually, which you have to do if you're not using low-grip tires.
Thank you
Thank you am now using the Karin Futo and I kind of know how to drift now and I just know how to do transitions thanks to you
AYEEEEEE
hey, when I take turns while drifting, i dont go the direction i want like when i need to go left, i drift and turn left but still go forward, what can i do for it?
Use the handbrake or let off the gas a bit to help 'upset' the car for transitions. This is discussed later on in the video.
@@StevieWunderKid Thanks. Can u tell the timestamp which u mentioned? Cause I couldn't find it.
So do I have to stance my car each time I open up gta?
If it's a car that needs to be stanced manually, yes. Low-grip tires are permanent though, and they may suffice on their own.
I started with the sultan rs maxed out😂💪💪💪
Sounds good! It's a bit harder to get the hang of the Sultan but you're able to drift it consistently, props to you!
You actually don't have to buy the Karin, you can just go to the car park after ferris wheel it spawns very frequently there and you can take one then store it in your garage and go back and get more Note:I'm playing offline
That's exactly why at 3:51 it says you can get it off the street haha, luckily it spawns pretty frequently in both story mode and online!
Offline as in campaign?

Crap, didn't even think about different generations of consoles. I made all those maps on Series X, so that could be why it's not accessible. Sorry about that man, but again these maps are pretty easy to recreate yourself in the Creator! Either that or the LS Car Meet is another good place to practice!
Any tracks like this i can use for ps5 ps4
There's a PS4 map made by one of my subscribers linked in the description, go give that a try!

Nah man, currently don't have the time to run a crew, sorry!
I'm using the steering wheel mod but for the life of me its too hard to drift with a wheel In this game compared to forza. Without low grip tires tho. I can do basic power slides but I want my drifts to be longer

If you're talking about drifting in vanilla GTA 5 with a wheel, then respect to you dude - that sounds pretty tough lol. Thanks for watching!
I've tried bookmarking this for xbox but it doesn't show up for me as I'm keen to learn how to drift
Sorry man, the difference in console generation affects your ability to bookmark maps - since I made it on Xbox Series X, it unfortunately can't be bookmarked on last-gen consoles :(

I wouldn't recommend it for beginners since it's AWD. I mentioned using a RWD car towards the beginning of the video.
Is there a track for Xbox one ?
You can try the Xbox Series version of the map, I know some people had issues accessing it but it's still worth a shot. Otherwise, you can pretty quickly recreate the map in the creator just by placing down props at Fort Zancudo!
What wheels did you choose on the intro
The 'Fujiwara' wheels in the Tuner category.

I've got the map linked in the description, you can see the layout of everything on the Social Club page!
Is there a way i can drift without needing to be lvl 100 or 90 to add the car upgrades or do i have to sit my ass grinding lol 😂
Of course man, just apply the upgrades that you have access to for now - a lot of the beginner cars mentioned in this video don't really need much in terms of upgrades to drift reliably.
@@StevieWunderKid wow that was quick and thanks
You can actually buy an auto shop and it unlocks all of the car parts in your auto shop - no need to do races or he level 100 :)
@@jarvis1508 alrighty then I'll buy an auto shop
Low grip tires aquired for all cars 😎 no shooting tires no mo
Yup, it's way easier and accessible for everybody now which is great!
ive been doing this for 2 hours and i cant even dough nut is it my car i use the elegry retro custom
That's because the Elegy Retro isn't a good beginner car and is AWD. I left recommendations for good starter RWD cars at the beginning of the video.
After some hours trying, I feel proud of myself doing a pretty decents donuts on pillars of LS meet with my Initial D car 😂 This thing isn't easy at all 😮
It definitely does take some time but it's super rewarding once you get the hang of it - sounds like you're well on your way!
U still active on gta? Tried adding ya today I’m finding it kinda hard lol
Mainly on weekends, yeah. I work full-time and only really play for the sake of streams/videos, stay tuned for the next time I'm live!
does this work with the new update?
Yes, a lot of the basic principles do apply. I do have some updated guides though if you wanna check those out.
the bigger problem is the lack of ambidexterity of my both thumbs to separately steer and control and camera. Any tips you could give for camera control? or does this just boils down to practice and getting used to it?
quite literally just practice is all theres no special button inputs to help with the camera….. you just gotta mess around with your camera settings but if you use the settings he does in the video and just practice a bunch youll be good
You have to feel the sensation These videos help but you will have to learn the hard way still just use those tips he gave out and Study the Drift mechanics and your car
Without even drifting, just drive around and see how you can aim the camera high above the car (in a similar fashion to how I'm manipulating the stick in the video) and get used to the combination of steering and adjusting the camera at the same time. Then, you can work it in while drifting - this follows the same sort of process as the other skills taught in this video; learn them individually then try to add them together. Hope this helps!
I Can hear “Love is in danger” when drifting
You always gotta have eurobeat on when you're drifting!
this is a great video don’t get me wrong. but no i give up, too hard haha!
Thanks for watching! I recommend sticking with it a bit longer and seeing what happens, it's not as hard as you think!
I tried so hard to do the same controls but it still didn't let me drift good 😞
Practice always makes perfect, always start slow until you're fully comfortable with the basics!
I have a Drive wheel i think its work too😅
Mad respect if you can do all of this using a wheel!
@@StevieWunderKid i try IT ITS funny
im not gonna bother doing all this, i just got a mod menu to properly tune cars and now drifting is waaaay more satsifying
That's cool I guess, whatever you have the most fun with is what matters. Any sort of modded drifting feels really unnatural to me since there's no way to truly mask the traction-control mechanics baked in to GTA 5's handling model. That and, in my opinion, modded drifting isn't as rewarding.
Bro im doing everything you’re saying and doing but I keep spinning out
All I can really say is to focus a lot more on power control, either by letting off the throttle a bit or tapping the handbrake more frequently to prevent your car from spinning out. Don't move too fast through the drills, either - practice makes perfect!
@@StevieWunderKid thank you im just now figuring that out
Awesome, good luck man!
i don’t know if the benefactor schwartzer got removed but i’ve been trying to find it forever on san andreas and it is not there. i also checked vespucci beach locations but no luck
Unfortunately yeah, it was removed :( I've session-hopped quite a bit and gotten it to spawn occasionally, but it is rare. The other options to get removed cars that I left in the pinned comment might help!
Does this work on story mode?
Can you do a tutorial for story mode?
Yes, this all works for story mode too, although you won't have access to low-grip tires. You'll have to stance your car manually using the method I showed!
