    • @@tiattahiscupcakecandykatan2453 Because the dog was the focus of the discussion at the moment the call ended. the T1000 wanted to find out why. And it was easier to kill the dog to get it. Also because if the dog kept at barking too long, someone might complain. And as powerful as the T1000 is, a single platoon or company could easily obliterate it from long range. So keeping secret is important.

    • @@NitpickingNerd The LAPD arrives 10-20 minutes later to check on John (interrogation scene at the Hospital informing Sarah that they spotted the Terminator at the mall through surveillance photos and the Foster parents were murdered). Also how will that derail T1000's thinking when his priority to take out Sarah before T800 and John rescues her. If the Terminator says T1000 is more advanced (going to Dyson's house before heading to Cyberdine), he'll know Terminator isn't going to do difficult side missions to jeopardize the safety of John.

  • Robert Patrick honestly didn't have to do much for this role, just stay stern faced and emotionless. But he does it so well! His mannerisms, his movements, his expressions, they go straight past emotionless and all the way into mechanical, which of course is perfect. There is never a moment in this film where you're in doubt that you're looking at a robot and not a man. Mix in that ominous soundtrack, and you have a terrifying villain that has stood the test of time for 3 decades.

He knew that she and him shared a mutual dislike of each other therefore it was a dead giveaway. Even the dog knew something wasn't right and his barking further confirmed his suspicions before the Terminator played the Wolfie trick on ''Janelle''. In one of the deleted scenes, you can see the T-1000 walking through the house and looking into the bathroom during that moment. We see room searches all the time, ranging from methodically rifling through each drawer and looking under rugs for hidden trap doors to outright ransacking. The T-1000 does... none of that. Instead it very carefully runs its fingers over every single thing in that room, even when it seems to serve no purpose. Because it's not just looking for clues to where else its target might go. It's learning everything that's possible to learn about John Connor without talking directly to him. Which is terrifying.

That would have been a really macabre touch, but in a lot of ways its worse to not see her at all. I also love how Patrick moves in this extended scene. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for your redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. This is the Gospel which means the Good News. Those that reject redemption will go to hell. 1 John 1:8-10 KJV If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. John 1:1-3,10 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. Isaiah 44:6 KJV Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Revelation 1:17-18 KJV And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: [18] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. Acts 4:12 KJV Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

    • It's actually pretty subtle and clever, it has to do with how impactful those deaths are. Killing the dog was senseless violence, and the dog didn't deserve it, so we don't see the death, only hear it, but it also doesn't linger on the fact very long, because while the audience doesn't want to see the dog die, we also don't really have much attachment. We get the reverse with the asshole foster dad: He's built up to be a jerk, so his death is gratuitous and "rewarding". At the end of the movie, we have the opposite, where we get to watch the terminator die, but it's long and drawn out, because it's emotional, and we have an investment in that character.
