Ive been to all these places except Blue lagoon....lol. The Snaefellsnes peninsula is nice also. I also had fun whale watching in Akureyri. Ive made local friends in Iceland and visited some beautiful off the beaten path areas.

Iceland is breathtaking! Traveled to different states and countries… but Iceland takes the cake. Saw the northern lights twice while I was there, back in 2019 in September. To see the northern lights go between September and April.
Oh man! I live in New Zealand and it has been a dream of mine to see the northern lights. I took my family on a 50th birthday trip and I was going to go there to see the northern lights sep 2019 but didn’t want to risk going all that way and not seeing them. We went to Italy dubai egypt and Greece and it was incredible but so wish we had of gone there now. So happy for you to have seen that spectacular light show :)

You won’t regret it. Went two years ago and hands down the most epic views I’ve seen in my life, and I’ve traveled a lot. My friends and I went to half of the places on this list. Just don’t be an asshole tourist that leaves trash everywhere. Seeing people toss trash and cigarette butts everywhere pissed me off beyond measure.

Was born there and have recently come back from a 2 week visit. Myvatn is certainly well named, you get greater by your own person welcoming committee when you get out of your car. I was playing one of the videos to my cousins - you could see my aunt reaction when she saw them and heard them - she had clearly been there before also.
Wow!!! Stunning place. I want to go there. Hopefully things go back to normal soon. My KZhead travel videos while I was in Thailand were before the virus. Can’t wait to get back out there.

My favorite places to visit in Iceland include: Akureyri, the West Fjords, and any glacier you can find before it melts :/ I'm glad that Iceland is re-opening for tourism now and allowing people to work remotely from there.
