That Thorburn penalty is unbelievable. No kicking tee or sand back then, old heavy wet leather ball, heavy wet surface (not like the pitches of today), 70s boots - it really shouldn't have been possible.
Thats was unbelievable. I can only imagine what he would kick in todays games
An absolute HOOF he gave it
he even hit a player XD
I saw that on tv as it happened. Bill McLaren commentary perfect.
I watched it live (on telly) and it was definitely one of the moments that progressed Rugby Union forward .... everything is possible
New rule -> Fake image as a teaser : blocked channel. Too bad 🤷♂
That clearance kick was awesome
Tallest ever rugby player was Scotland international Richard Metcalf who Is 7 feet tall.
Most forward passes unpenalised: The All Blacks.
cry baby
@@paulthomson2288 do you like cheating then? Nice character trait.
@@eleycki do you realize how ridiculous is your argument ? the game is adjudicated so closely barely anything is missed yet you claim even with neutral refereeing the All Blacks cheat by throwing forward passes? you're pathetic.
Don’t tell me. You support the Boks? Never mind that for decades, the Boks at home only used South African referees and got away with blue murder
Why don’t you do a video of all the things that are wrong about the all Blacks?
François Steyn used to kick from that distance all the time, even dropped.
That worlds longest try might have been beaten recently by Peniasi Dakuwaqa for Stade Francais
Most famous try has to be Gareth Edwards against NZ for the BaBaas. Could have had longest pass? Most tackles in a game Most tackles in a season Longest time not missing a kick...could be Neil Jenkins that! Longest time not missing a tackle Most tries scored in a game So many more.
Most tackles in a game (Test rugby)... 38 tackles..Thierry Dusautoir vs NZ 2007 RWC. Unless there's a higher tackle count im missing
How do you measure famousness?
Views on KZhead or search on Google Trends
Famousness is measured using Buncett-Percival scale
I know right. Haven’t seen that try in a long time but you see Lomu’s try against England in 95 all the time.
with a tape measure
So many fun facts i didn’t have. Thanks mate great work! Maggle
That FRENCH try against the ALL BLACKS@ 03.50 what a fantastic 7 men effort.,deserves 10 points not 5 .
Henry Tuilagi did 200kg for five reps
Why does that not surprise me. A scary man. His son in now playing pro rugby in France and is even bigger.
No he bench 260 it's on google
We all know the most famous try ever… 🤦 With the commentary too just spine tingling!
I was in th stand for the HK korea game and that tackle looked worse in real life than on the replay
Henry tuilagi was benching 260 kgs and a player in England did it also
Missing the most tackles in a single match by Dusautoire
Yesss we made it 🇭🇰
What about most world cups won?
pretty sure Francois Steyn owns all the long range kick records now
Frans steyn did a 64m penalty kick and a 100m kick........
Doesn’t count Probably on performance drugs!
@@mungogerryjnrmust be nice being so delusional
A few are debatable but good non the less
The longest unbeaten spell in international rugby is 24 Tests by Cyprus (Nov 2008 to Nov 2014).
It’s 30 as the red roses got that over the last few years but still Cyprus coming in second is very impressive!
0:01 is a really nice try Too bad the runner was clearly in front of the kicker.
Tallest player was one of those Scotland locks from the 90’s, he was 7 ft 1inch.
#thelongestdropgoal ever in Wales was 66 yards in Abertillery in 1980 by Steve West !
Isn't first try offside?
I'm surprised we dont have anyone taller than Toner. They musr all be playing basketball
All blacks in 2013 went on a 14 game win streak making it 100%
Just confused as to why select those years instead of one specific one
New Zealand and England share the record of most consecutive wins by a tier 1 nation with 18. Funnily enough neither team faced the other in either streak
Louis Moolman kicked a 91.9m penalty in the match between Sishen Rugby Club, and Durbanville-Bellville Rugby Club in 1997. The longest penalty kick in an international is 64.2 meters by Jannie de Beer in the Boks vs England match at the 1999 Rugby World Cup.
Wasn't the furthest penalty kick done by Louis Moolman with 90m?
Amazing 😊
Very nice 👌
How about most tackles in a match. And longest successful tackle streak. I think thats dusotior and Hamish Watson
awesome! would be cool to see one for rugby 7s
The bench record is "only" 200kg, it's not so surprising for a 135kg player. For example Julien Ory, top 14 player weighing only 95kg did the same... I think other massives players can do better...
Guys did you not see that bounce at 1.35min
The longest try has been beaten a few weeks ago by Dakuwaqa
You know rugby well😂❤
Devin Toner was not the tallest player, Richard Metcalfe, aka Too Tall, was 3cm taller (2.13m vs 2.10m)
Reckon Andrew Porter might have Nella covered on the bench.
Longest try, please check dakuwaqa try against racing 92...
What about most foot points? Wilkinson deserves to be on this video
Player who falls over and illegally seals the ruck = Peter O'Mahony
Itoje is 100 times worse, and many others...
So many inaccuracies in this video. Richard Medcaffe was bigger than Toner, no way 200KG is the most a rugby player can BP
Most famous try is gareth Edwards for the barbarians
Like a fourth World Cup is no big deal
It isn't
Awesome! Who has the most World Cups?
Could have least put the dates, names of teams and players info on this? So annoying
Most world cups won😅....
Defenders beaten goes to Duhan VDM when he skinned half the English team last 6N.
No that would be Lomu when he drove through 2/3 of the French team.
Defender beaten by kick pass would also be Duhan van der Merwe.
How many? In RWCs - the Most Defenders Beaten in a single game, there’s three ahead of him 24 - Vilimoni Delasau for Fiji v USA in 2003 15 - Jonah Lomu for NZ v Scotland in 1995 15 - Seru Rabeni for Fiji v USA in 2003 14 - David Campese Australia v Canada in 1995 14 - Glen Osborne for NZ v Japan in 1995 14 - Lote Tuqiri Australia v Namibia in 2003 14 - Jake Polledri for Italy v Canada in 2019 14 - Duhan van der Merwe v Tonga in 2023 14 - Darcy Graham v Romania in 2023 14 - Mark Telea v Argentina in 2023
Most longest try is in samoa vs usa 7s in 2023
Most disgusting fan base: South Africa Worst Referee in history: Co-detained by Barnes and O’Keeffe
Yes but also the fastest man : Kolbee (100m in 6.5 sec)
@@2611raphy How come he’s not holding WR then?
I take it you're either english or a new zealander
@@warriorbomb_5074 No French. And you drugged up lot gonna pay back for it. But you’re right I could be either because you’ve fucked over 3 different teams
Still crying I see 😅
Most famous try was Jonah - not France😂
Biggest cry baby fan base: South Africa
"Most famous pass"?
Its probably not famous but it was sure pretty special
Funny how you didn't show any springbok player despite numerous record.moments they were involved in. Rubbish video.
You definitely dont watch enough rugby, you Shouldve included "longest rugby try scored by a forward" which was scored by (at the time) a 17 year old boy from South africa during craven week in 2019. Known as Renzo du Plessis. He even has a highlight reel on YT.
"You don't watch enough rugby because you missed a South African u18 school rugby match from 2019" 🤓
@@tsherwood2112 oh my God, that's what I said🤯🤯no way you caught that!!
@@tsaki_titan shut up Meg
Room temperature IQ. Fuck SA Rugby. Fuck SA schoolboy rugby

@VanMattherhorn sorry your team is trash, keep practicing.
