@@DaveP-uv1ml Likely something from editing where 2 sequences were put in the wrong order.
👍👍
@@Ralphie_Boy 👍
@@DaveP-uv1ml Hi, they set the altimeter to the STD.
@@eSingCZindeed as the QNH is 1026 that means that standard pressure 1013 is 13 HPa less 13 x 30ft = 390feet that they will lose when changing the setting Idk if this is enough for the clip or that it’s just an editing mistake
One of the very best detailed pre-flight briefings I've seen. Also, the rapport and respect that the Captain had with his fellow flight crew and cabin crew, was exemplary. Finally, flying that beautiful A340-300 was simply the icing on the cake! A big thank you to all of the Swiss crew, for making this exceptional video.
The captain’s explanation of technical aviation points is just unbelievable. So knowledgeable & I learnt so much. Thank you!🙏🏽
Much sympathy for this Swiss crew in the giant Airbus 340-300. - Many happy flights, Swiss Air!
Thanks for watching & commenting!
I'm amazed how calm and professional the pilots are! They make such a complex procedure look simple and routine!!!
Seeing Kloten/LSZH always makes the heart flutter a bit with joy.
Great video!!! Loved seeing my ex-hometowns (San Francisco and San Mateo) from high above. Captain and his flight crew were outstanding and much respect for all of them!
I really enjoyed listening to the flight planning and in-flight discussions on fuel consumption vs other factors. Beautiful scenery during the arrival phase into the Bay area!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks very much!
Brilliant. Congrats to the captain and co-pilots.
What a great video, thank you for allowing us to see what happens behind the curtains. Just speechless, the level of professionalism shown by the captain, copilot and first officer is indisputable
Absolutely wonderful, thanks for this. Love the A340, was once a common sight here at Heathrow with many airlines.
Pilot (POC) knows his stuff and is a great pilot. He still loves flying after 30 years. Can only hope to have pilots like this guy.
This pilot is amazing and knows so many things! So much respect and big compliment!! Greetings from Zurich🇨🇭 wiiter so jungs💪
Such a pleasant flight with a wonderful crew ! I'm starting the Swiss selection process to become a pilot in a few weeks. I hope to have the opportunity to fly with them one day. :-)
Glad you enjoyed it and best of luck with Swiss! Great airline.

@@justplanesWith many pleasure ❤❤...............
Amazing video, amazing crew. These are the proficient professionals I want flying my aircraft.
The amount of preparation is incredible, experience is key and much respect
My first airplane trip in 1972 was from New York to San Fran. That close landing over the water & the San Mateo Bridge got my attention for sure.:)
Brilliant - only the best from Swiss air and just pilots
I loved this video. God bless all crew. Claudinei from Brazil
Thank you Claudine!
One of the best in-fight Videos. The detailed technical and operational explanations by the Captain are very hepful indeed and appreciated. Thank you.
that captain really loved flying! beautiful!
Wow, DANKE VIELMAL FÜR DAS WUNDERVOLLE VIDEO.
I wish I was a pilot too. Fantastic information ❤❤
Enjoyed the video. Very impressed with both pilots. Hope to fly on Swiss Airlines soon

Love this airplane. It is one of my favourites!
Airbus A340 300 HB-JMD is now with Edelweiss air
😒
Swiss precision and craftmanship in the cockpit. A couple of years ago, I flew in economy with Swiss on a long haul night-flight to Asia. A code share with SIN and a brilliant expirience. After dinner service, the cabin crew placed a few bottles of water and a few apples in the galley and they all disappeared. Puff! No one to be seen until the next morning. (Or they had just a good way of hiding.....) The year before, I took the same flight with Singapore Airlines, operated by SIN itself. During the whole time of the flight, we always had a very friendly and welcoming crew available. Along with fruits/-juices, a variety of sandwiches and water. Go figure!
Wonderful... what a feeling to fly with such experts. thank you😊😊😊
Very professional Crew gives me satisfaction for flying
So präzis wird nur im Swiss Cockpit gschaffet! En wahre Gnuss! Danke!
Lufthansa auch
Ach was. Das machen andere auch. Mach kes Theater
you did a great job pilot
*I hate to be the odd one out on this wonderful flight, but I must say that the view of San Francisco from eleven thousand feet on a clear and sunny day is the most beautiful sight in the world. However, at ground level, it can be quite unpleasant and even hazardous if you don't watch where you step.*
It totally is one of the absolute best approaches.
@@justplanesI heard that LaGuadia's approach is the worst in the U.S.
So enjoyed watching this flight 😊. Lovely views of Frisco and the airport, reminding me of my previous holidays there. The captain obviously enjoyed going back there!
dieser captain ist soo sympatisch und seine euphorie nach der landung ist ansteckend
Vary interesting to see there is so much behind the scenes work done.
Thank you
The professionalism exudes from all pilots, so much technical information I now feel I could fly that 340 beast myself, LOL. Oh, BTW, the gentleman pilot is soo classy!
Wonderful Cockpit (Crew) Resource Management. Great atmosphere, calm, communicative. So much of what the pilots do is planning for "What if?" scenarios before take-off and en-route. The workshare and decision making exemplifies the legendary Jurgen Raps words that an ideal cockpit team has a chain of command but it shouldn't be too strong.
That is so cool to see the planes next to u.
Cool!
Being a pilot is very hard mental work. I didn't know that exactly. Thank you for showing me🎈
BEAUTIFUL
How I miss working for Swissair (ATLKKSR). Our flight deck and cabin staff were always as professional and prepared as this video shows.
Thank you. Regards from Warsaw 😊
Thank you very much!
Very well done. Danke vielmals!
Excellent,or should I say that was just...well,excellent!Kinda emotional though, which reminds me Jurgen Rapps last flight, also the weather was a part of it,so this flight has been perfect!
Respect!
Nice flight l injoyed
very interesting - compared to my job this really is worth getting up in the morning.
Hello, I always follow the videos, I'm a fan of the channel directly from Brazil, hugs
Realmente un viaje fantástico!!!
Great video and interesting details, even for a die hard avgeek! Actually my most flown longhaul route (44 times) and my 3d most flown aircraft (5.7%)
AMAZING video
Very beautiful profession, I admire a lot who domains what's doing
I love the way how this captain and his board make the Job. Quality need Time to be prepare and make well the mission or a good job. it is not to do something, we speak about doing well, that s another vision of a practice. Congratulations cptain
Excellent views and information.
Thanks very much!
Swiss utilise toujours c'est 340 pour SFO, cette route ce fait un 777 normalement

Was en pilot, wow. 👍💪
As the plane was acellerating the camera was showing the throttle. When the exciting "v-1" occurred and the plane became airborne, the camera was showing the pilot's lap.

Thankfully Airbus has updated its briefings so they don’t take this long now 😵💫
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So if it cost fuel to carry fuel why is saving fuel already in the tanks during a goal ? If you land with too much fuel that means you miscalculated and made the plane heavier than it needed to be in essence requiring more fuel to power
Because flight plan fuel has to include a % extra for contingencies such as, for example, ATC not being able to allocate your requested flight level and/or inaccurate winds etc. ETOPS planning also has to include such contingencies as emergency descent in event of pressurisation failure requiring flying well below optimum level which means higher fuel burn. Another reason for arriving with “extra” fuel is shorter ATC routings but the plan has to assume full track mileage. Also professional and experienced pilots can manage the aircraft in many ways to reduce fuel burn.
2011 was when this flight was what I saw 20.sep.11 on the papers ?
I believe you're correct!
No autopilot disconnect? They stick flew that from 10+?
ap disc at 2:07:05
cameraman at 52:50 : you had one job
Piloti letušky najradšej by som letela sama keby sa dalo iba volať po Slovensky ❤❤❤ Anna cus
In thought this Captain would be retired by now 😂😂
How old is this? Swiss flies a 777 on this route now don’t they?
They do, yes. I guess the video is probably more than 5 years old, maybe even 10. Somebody mentioned the United 747 in the old livery.
Meanwhile the bird with the Registration HB-JMD is now flying for Edelweiss.
