Do you want to learn how to order food at a restaurant in English? In this English video lesson I will go to 4 restaurants and I will help you learn 4 different ways to order food in English.
It was really fun for me to teach this English lesson in the real world at actual restaurants! Come with me as I order a pizza, a hamburger, a sub, and some donuts. I will even help you learn some English as we go through the drive-thru and order a cup of tea for Jen on the way home!
I hope you enjoy this English lesson and I hope it helped you learn just a little bit more English!
Have a great day!

It reminds us that we shouldn't be chained down to workbooks or outdated grammar-based methodologies. Learners need to be exposed to real-life situations so that they can build automaticity.

  • I tried to confirm this with my friend and teacher before because I felt weird to say/hear 'having here or take away' whenever I order at a fast food restaurant (the take away is fine, but the having here is weird to me). But it seems like this is what we use here in Malaysia. Glad to learn another way of saying it: for here or to go :)

  • Hi Bob, I got to tell you your video is extremely helpful. I've been learning English all the way from middle school to college. I've even founded a toastermaster club and won speech champion couple years ago. So I thought I was a fluent speaker already. BUT ! Guess what, when I travelled to the US last year, I was shocked even the simplist thing as ordering in a restaurant or coffee shop, was too damn HARD! There were so many words and expressions that I had never learned, or even heard of, from textbook. So thank you! Keep up the good work!
