  • Most of these comments are steeped in ignorance! Komodo Dragons will chase its prey for hours or days! They move at a leisurely pace and then sprint when they are in range! Remember, their goal is to land a single bite then they will continue to follow you until your eventual demise at which point they will consume you! Keep in mind, they can weigh up to 300lbs and eat up to 80% of their body weight at one sitting (flesh, bone, hair and sinew). If you were on a pier with a crocodile that was intent on slowly following you, would you be nervous? Well, that dragon is way more dangerous on land and sprints almost as fast!

    • Not likely, males occasionally take a quick dip but jumping in after prey not likely, they don’t go deep and catching and being able to drag struggling prey back wouldn’t be easy as they need to breathe and they’d probably choke on water. If one bit you, yeah you’d die but very unlikely it would attack you in deep water and be able to drag you back to shore. Would suck if they did though cause they won’t wait for you to die before they tear you apart.
