Dave Hickman found a baby in the woods while hunting in 1955. Hickman spent the next 58 years trying to track her down. CBS News' Michelle Miller reports on their emotional reunion.
"Saved by the hand of God." God blessed Mr. Hickman. He will see heaven. Wonderful story. Inspiring.

If Dave and his grandfather hadn't been hunting on that particular day, Mary Ellen probably wouldn't still be alive to this day. Life is funny that way. This is an absolutely fantastic story and a beautiful reunion! I got goosebumps all over!
Yet you forget all the other children who aren't as fortunate that actually get kidnapped and raped or murdered. But life sure is funny huh. Nothing happens for a reason, it's simply your mind reasoning with reality.

First of all.....OMG !! What a gorgeous little baby she was !! Such a beautiful smile and happy playful eyes !! Then, what an amazing 14 year old he was. I get that a child might be curious about a sound in the woods, but his determination and the sense of responsibility he had and carried all these years !! Finally, how absolutely lovely these two people are. So happy for both of them for a hundred reasons !!

As an infant teacher, I wholeheartedly understand that deep attachment formed with babies and how you often find yourself wondering what will become of them as they grow up elsewhere. I can't even imagine how much stronger that feeling must have been for this man. So beautiful how he carried her in his heart and always thought of her as his little girl, in a way. This story touched me, and I'm so glad they found their way back to one another.

They are definitely some kind of soul mates, he was guided there that day for sure. he spent his whole life thinking about her, and she spent her whole life thinking about him. Then when they met they were like old friends. Amazing. I hope they stay in touch, she will always be his little lost baby to him ♥

What a Sensitive man and as a teenager, it made an impression on him to always think of her. He even admitted he'll always remember her in the weeds. I'm so happy he was able to meet her.🙂

Wow, this was a much needed something to brighten my mood while waiting for election results. What an incredible person... Not only because he was a hero, but he cared so much for this baby that he thought of her and her well being for almost SIXTY years!! I can't say most teenagers would be like that. So glad the two both have closure and I hope they remain friends for the rest of their lives.
