Please allow me to introduce myself... FC Barcelona teamed up with the Rolling Stones ahead of the recent El Clásico to produce a limited edition home jersey bearing the band's iconic Tongue and Lips logo.

This was the continuation of a trend started by shirt sponsor Spotify last season to utilise one of the most viewed games in the world to promote a band/artist. Last season saw Drake and Rosalía take centre stage but to promote their new album Hackney Diamonds The Stones were selected. Apart from the inclusion of the British band's emblem the Nike design is the same as the normal home shirt which returns to the club's classic design that was introduced in 1912 and used more or less in the same style until the 1990s. The jersey features two wide red stripes on the front breaking up a deep blue base while the sleeves are solid red. What is unique is the stripes have a diamond pattern along the edges. This is inspired by the old diamond-shaped logo of Barcelona's now Women's team. There is a somewhat hidden detail of that same diamond shape included in the club crest. The Nike logo is white which is a little unusual as it has traditionally been yellow/gold. The back of the shirt sees a continuation of the stripes while the back of the shoulders are a deep blue. The upper back of the neck features the Catalan flag. I opted for shirt printing with which sees some nice textured detailing. The shirt sleeves see space for a sponsor on the left arm while the La Liga badge and reigning La Liga champions badge are included on the right. The texturing on this shirt is truly amazing to see up close and makes the most of Nike's dri fit avd technology. The shirt collar is two tone with blue on the front changing to maroon on the back. On the inside of the shirt we see a small tag showing the shirt number and the logos of Barca and The Stones. The jersey comes in a special presentation box complete with a certificate of authenticity. As a lifelong Barcelona fan I'm delighted to add such a special jersey to my collection. Shame Barca went on to lose the game but you can't always get what you want and by the end of the season the Catalans will hope they just might find they get what they need!
