  • It worries me just how universally useless the officials are when it comes to dealing with fires. No way should a driver have time to get out, get their own extinguisher, and put the fire out themselves.

    • As others have mentioned its for when the front end does come down even if its only for a moment. it will result in some turning which is better than having to use the brakes to turn and lose momentum. Every little bit helps.

  • These events only need to have the TRAINED emergency personnel on the track when these vehicles blow up not a bunch of want to be fireman. I’ve been to 3 tractor pull events where the untrained idiots got burned and ended up being the one rushed to the hospital. Get it together event organizers make sure to put money in the pot for a few TRAINED emergency personnel.

    @stevo68@stevo685 ай бұрын
    • if you're a genius, you'd know a regular dry-chem extinguisher isn't the best when dealing with automotive fires, either oil, fuel, or methonal or otherwise, with an extinguisher you also run the risk of just spraying the flaming shit all over the place. Sometimes a dry chem can work. Also, those big silver canisters that are sometimes seen dragged over to a wrecked rig that might catch fire IS THE EXTINGUISHER. It takes a genius to use more than his eyeballs, huh? Helps to use the stuff behind them (your brain) too, y'know?

    • @@TheBandit7613- the axles just snap off. Seems they can design a drivetrain that can handle 10,000 HP, but they can't design a pair of stub axles that can support a couple of thousand pounds. 🤣 I don't really understand why they use the tiny wheels in the first place.... I can't find any rule that requires them. Irrespective, they just don't seem to know how to engineer that aspect properly.

  • Hey Lightning McQueen, those round things, their call tires and they go under the car. Also, it worries me how many “professional” drivers don’t know how to shut their engine off when they flip, hit the wall, grenade, or otherwise catch fire. In some cases these people may only do a couple pulls a year. Also they dont see that many fires. Yes they happen but many pulls have zero fires. So yes being volunteers when a fire happens they are sometimes caught a little off gaurd. Overall for most part they do fine. Im yet to hear of anyones vehicle burning to the ground
