I’m Welsh so my opinion can be biased but I couldn’t agree more, he carried us to the World Cup after decades and played so well for all of his clubs
I might go as far to say that no other player, including Messi would beat Bale in a Top 20 all-time career goals list. There are so many more, but the two from Madrid that come to mind One, where kicked it past the Barcelona defender and ran around way out of bounds yet still outpaced the defender for the goal. And then of course his bicycle kick in the UCL finals vs Liverpool
He was definitely one of my childhood heroes along with the likes of Modric, Robbie Keane etc. Once a hotspur, always a hotspur 💙🤍

Will never forget his final season at Spurs. Teams hated playing against him that season as he could score from anywhere jn the opposition half. Scored the most amazing goals that season. West Ham, Southampton, Lyon (2 free kicks in the UEL) and many more. His last season at Spurs was truly magnificent and the goals he scored that season is unmatched imo. Enjoy your retirement Gareth.

Football is all about moments. Moments of drama, moments of joy, moments of wonder. Bale gave us so many truly memorable moments during his career. The rarest type of player who could bend a match to his will and single-handedly get the job done with a piece of absolute magic. There may be Spurs players with more longevity, more goals or more trophies, but few can match Bale for the pure, unadulterated joy and excitement he brought to the pitch. Thank you for everything Gareth!

When he first broke into the season as a left midfielder back 09' - 10' season was when I became a Spurs fan. He's the reason I love Spurs, I also played as a left back that could also play as a winger so he was my Inspiration. 🙌🏾💯⚽💨 What a class player he was.

My personal favourite performance was the one against Inter when he had Maicon on toast. Maicon was supposedly the best full back in the world, but Gareth ripped him a new one that night. I bet poor Maicon still wakes up in cold sweats now thinking about Bale. I think it was that performance that persuaded Real Madrid to pay a world record fee for him. Not bad for a full back. Really interesting to think what if... his last season, he did everything to get us to Champions League, where we narrowly missed to Arsenal by 1 point. He won us numerous game 1-0 with an outrageous goal. I think that team just missed a creative midfielder that we didn't get in the start of the season- Joao Moutinho. It was said the deal couldn't get done by the 12 am deadline of Transfer deadline day. Levy brought in a cheap option in Lewis Holtby in January. While a fantastic talent and prospect at the time, couldn't compare to Moutinho, who ended up going to Monaco the following season and winning Ligue 1 there. If Spurs did win CL qualification that season, I think Bale would have stayed 1 more season. Everything else in Football would be different. Madrid wouldn't have won 5 CL's. But also, Poch might have never come to Spurs to carry on what would be Spurs greatest moments in Europe. What if?

I'm a staunch Liverpool fan, and I regularly look up Bale's best goals; I so wished we could have had him. He was like Stevie G, he just reached a point where you realised he'd "arrived", and after that you couldn't keep up. Again, the same qualities of being incredible athletes, with an unreal touch (those shots both players have where the ball just flies through the air without spinning). Gerrard was also a mentality monster, so I'll always stump for the GOAT, but Bale was absolutely bloody brilliant and tbh I wish he'd never left the Premier League.
