It is so refreshing to see european car youtuber that uses correct metric system and talks in english. Makes a world of a difference when you dont need to convert stupid imperial specs that brits and americans use. Thank You very much for the content.
in English
I still love Harry's Garage even if he uses imperial
Us Brit’s can use both imperial and metric
I have never owned a BMW, maybe never will, I just admire this guy's patience, technique, knowledge and humour. Better than TV.

You’ve filled the void left behind by Ed China. Your attention to detail is very admirable, from the work on the car down to the countless hours of editing you must do.
Miles ahead of Ed china
Edd
Yes it makes two of us, Edd China's workshop diaries is not as good as this, he was better in wheeler dealers otherwise the only limitation here is absence of other models of vehicles!
@@wycliffeluswata9097 I made the comment before Edd started back up. I still watch Edd’s series, and enjoy it for different reasons. My situation is more akin to Edd working on the Land Rover, than Sreten working on his BMW’s. I still appreciate both the same.
I LOVE it when you clean parts that will never be seen again.
Your are a master mechanic, saving these wonderful BMW’s. They still look elegant, with a clean and simple design - they are timeless. I love your commentary too - a great blend of humour and excellent technical information. Hi from NZ.
What he said, plus another hi from NZ.
@@jasoncatt Me 3, lol
not from new zealand, but goddamn is burgerfuel good. that is all. take care friends
Specially the engine
Im in NZ too. Lovely video.
That Zip Tie trick on the trans gasket, is F.ing genius. I'm taking it lol
I normally apply a small amount of grease in some parts of the gasket. Works fine.
What if the zip tie end falls into the pan and the pick up sucks it through the torque converter
@@GatsCreationMotorworks Risks we all run sometimes
@@GatsCreationMotorworks if your cutter split the zip ties instead of doing clean cuts, your cutters are not good enough. Usually zip ties don't split in bits! Keep these cutters sharpened, brother!

E38 is top notch design, elegant, masculine, solid and enormous power.I can forget the first day I saw it, I went round it to find a fault but none. The good thing was, I later bought but one and I can say till date nothing bmw ever designed has come close or impressed me like e38. Decades after, it's still commanding immense attention and enthusiasm from quality car lovers and even teenagers.
Das waren die besten Bmw Jahre mit E46 E39 und E38. Für mich die schönsten und zeitlosesten BMW's. Schöner Wagen und gute tipps. Weiter so.👍
26:49 Haha, went a little bit Doug DeMuro there for a sec... LOVE IT!
Please don't compare him to that clown.
Your DeMuro humour is next level... 🤩
That hammer was probably made in China (I would not be surprised the new taillamp came from China as well), as most tools used in the video, my iPhone 11 is made in China that I am using to post this, I have good collection of tools from Home Depot , DeWalt, Milwaukee, Bosch, etc. that are made in China
Doug is a moron that happens to have a famous uncle. Nothing to compare against.
That's utterly unfair to compare a genius hands on mechanic with a cunt who thinks to understand about cars. Seriously, if Doug gets a flat, even though he'd have a spare and a wrench, yet he'd call AAA!
0:08 - 0:28 These top gear/grand tour style previevs are awesome! Love your vids
This literally had me sold.
Tonight... I break things... Richard gets a fluid shower... and James carries a ladder. Admit it, we all read that in Jeremy Clarkson's voice.
Am I the only one that every now and then comes back to rewatch some Sreten classics?
"AND today i'm going to show you all their quirks and features" lol
Doug x)
I was loving the repairs before that, I laughed so hard at that part near the end. Never figured a German mechanic cared much about Doug Demuro.
@@alexsurber7057 There are good and bad factories in China. I believe you have bought some bad quality stuff from bad factories. Not all tail lights made in China are bad. Just like the iphones made in China. I have used them for many years and they are always error-free.
This channel has some of my favourite content on KZhead. The attention to detail, patience, persistence and knowledge are all second to none, a joy to watch! And the sound of that V12 firing up and purring..... Beautiful!
You best know that I’ll be watching this video over and over again
Im joining U 👍🏽
OMG, that engine sound when it start is amazing, by the way, I love this Dubai series, I watched a million times in every vacation country, my wife go nuts with my addiction on your channel :))) Now when I saw you how you worked without all the new tools that you have them now, is even more interesting, keep it classy, keep it simple. Have a good one!
I love that you don't do some shitty timelapse that you see someone working and you don't even understand the process, your channel skips the boring or repeated process to make the videos MUCH more enjoyable, but you still explain every process, so everyone understands every step you take, that really shows up in your videos that don't need to be skipped any second, the only ones on youtube so far , even in your early videos you had the golden mechanical youtube video recepie, and you made it even better and still keep it, congrats
Awesome timing. Just got the kids to sleep, beer opened and notification popped up for this.
WE WANT MOREEEEEEE
Danke.🏎️
I love how you take the time to clean surfaces that will never be seen once the car is together. Goooood shit.
Yessss! Binky and M539 in the same week!
Best car mechanic on KZhead, bar none. Love the German/Brit shared dry sense of humour - you are brilliant 😂👍
ekim andersom what is he then?
@@ianwynneuk Serbian, but living in Germany
No doubt one of the most beautiful and elegant 7 series BMWs ever, and since BMW now make cars that have grilles (kidneys) the size of the gates to Buckingham palace, I'm afraid the heyday of beautiful BMWs has passed. Great work sir, but the swearing! We love the swearing! Somehow Germans and the Dutch have a knack for swearing like masters.
Someone get this man his own TV show ASAP!!!
"AND today i'm going to show you all their quirks and features" haha :):) thought i was on a diff chan for a sec!

I was waiting for him start flailing his hands and arms around :)
THIS
I like how you pay attention to smallest details. i have my project in garage, but it is more satisfying to watch someone else working. Well done :)
its so nice that German companies still produce brand new spares .. good work
I don't own a BMW, but after watching your videos something tells me to buy one - FROM YOU! :)
Love everything about your videos: the story telling, the obsessive attention to detail, the occasional humor, and the love for these timeless BMWs. Thank you for helping us get through this time by enjoying your restoration projects!
Dude, your videos are on point. Really a pleasure to watch, your editing skills are also very good. That humour! 😂
I love these E38's. Such a stylish old school boxy design.
I love your perfectionism and your humor. Your bit with the cheap Chinese lights was really funny. I share your sentiment!
Depo is actually a Taiwanese brand FYI
Just wanted to comment to say how much I enjoyed watching this video, it was amazing to see how thorough you can be when you're working, even going as far as to replace the hardware on the exhaust clamps and, my personal favorite that always makes me happy, you clean the area around whatever you're fixing / replacing, like with the tail lights. Great video, very informative with some interesting funny moments. On an amazing V12 BMW no less! Please please please keep up the good work and keep uploading this sort of stuff!
When you say that your training is in IT and you do this in your off time then there are two possibilities. One: Your IT job is an Unicorn - i.e. Lots of pays with minimal work and lots of spare time. Or Two: you are a car nut and read workshop manuals like the morning newspaper and have a wonderful temperament to do the work that you do. Kudos to your efforts in making these videos. This built is particularly attractive as I am from Dubai!
He’s a computer scientist he makes bank dude unicorn one is right. He’s a brogammer
No girlfriend.
Your tail light review gained you my subscription! Genau und auf den Punkt!
This guy must be a bmw master master chief technician, he just fixes everything and well too.
They is nothing so beautiful like watching a BMW restoration, cant wait for the M5 restoration . Nice job
Author: the manual explicitly says to torque it by the nut, and not by the bolt. Me: Them german mechanics, always following manuals and shit Minute later: Author: torque wrench won't fit here, so *I WILL TORQUE IT UNTIL I FEEL MY BONE OR BOLT IS ABOUT TO BREAK*
Well torquing by the nut is standard for anything, ive had multiple BMW’s and torqued by feel on the driveshaft with zero issues
lmaoooo
This fits: www.proxxon.com/en/industrial/23342.php
Torquing by the nut is mandatory on aircraft. Just saying.
German engineer motto "WHY MAKE IT SIMPLE WHEN WE CAN MAKE IT DIFFICULT"!
I like about your work is that you are a professional amateur craftsman and amateurs who are honest in their work.
I saw your video and decided to change the starter on my car, IT worked ! now i feel like a GOD !
Great technician who does a fantastic job bringing these classic BMW s back to life. We need to see more of you though can't wait for the next episode .
This is by far my favourite KZhead channel. I'm mostly here for the old BMWs 😜I learn some great things here though!
Nobody made a better looking sporty car ever. My dream car.
0:36 you can stare at it forever. This was a truly German beauty. So much character and it is sooooo perfect, its like everything on its place where its supposed to be. Unlike BMWs today...
Seeing you fix all these gave me the motivation i needed to fix my e30. Its running perfect now, and drives great. New shocks next.
25:00 Stahlwille manoskop torq wrench with special flat spanner attachment would work really well in this situation when space is limited. Thank you for the great video!
love your video edits. No funky music, just helpful comments mixed with some good old German humor. gotta love that review on chineese replica taillights.
SERBIAN humor. He isn't German.
teaching by example...german perfectionism...perfect editing...looks so easy .... HOW MANY HOURS of handywork meditation, I need to know!
You're so patient with these BMW's, I wish I could be like that with mine lol. I'd like to add your also an excellent mechanic I was amazed at how you were able to seamlessly replace the belts and pulleys. Shoutout from Canada dude!
This 7 series was my dream car since I was a kid. It still looks magnificent and the fact that you can serive it to it's perfection is most admirable. Keeping them on the road is like holding a treasure and the sound? OMG it's wonderful! Huge shout out to you man!
Love your channel just came across it. Its so refreshing to see a German fixing a BMW. The Americans have no idea. You have a weird sense of humour I love it. Greetings from Australia.
You do a great job bringing these old cars back to full health, they look better than the new stuff BMW are selling now. Well done
You could, should, turn the engine on without the exhaust system so we were able to listen that V12 sound, (aside from errors codes because of the sensors) Love the video, ready for more
Oh this is soo satisfying to watch! Top!
Good job....😉😉😉😉
This is the only channel I would pay to watch !!!
In my opinion, the 7 series e38 is the best looking sedan ever produced.. thanks, great video once again!
Love the "Gallagher" treatment on the taillights!
I rarely comment on youtube but you sir, you deserve my comment. Keep the good content coming 💪🏼
You are the best mechaanical for BMW i ever seen, i love your clips and work-respect man. Greetings from Serbia👍
Dude, I love how you clean behind the new tail lights and license plate panel before installing the new stuff. Makes me smile.
Finally. A new episode 🚙 and the beginning is awesome 😀
"My tool let me down" It happens to the best, just talk to your partner about it.
I sense that you are talking about the joystick
Your OCD makes me happy... Cleaning parts and the places where they go before installing...just perfect
Man , your videos are just perfect . Light humor , precicive mechanics , solutions to problems, beautiful cars. You are like a european car wizard.
26:36 this is nice. First I thought you had to replace the whole tailgate.
This channel is dope can't wait for the next part!
Love the way you clean stuff, even though it’s never going to be seen again. Feels good just knowing it while sitting in the car.
this is my favorite mechanical car channel for now!!
You removed the nut and hit the tip of the bolt with a hammer to hit it out. ALWAYS screw a nut 3/4 of the way on so you'd hit the nut and not the bolt. You can easily damage the bolt and stretch the end when you hit it directly with a hammer
@Sander I dont think he reused those bolts
Finally been waiting for this episode for ages 🤣
I love the older BMWs and being a qualified BMW Technician it's always great to see these old beauties being looked after and worked on properly.
You're are truly master mechanic of bmw. I admire your work. From Philippines.
Yeeeeessss!!!!! Finally, thank you very much Streten!
More great content please 🤩
I enjoy when you reference other popular automotive youtube channels, it's fun. Anyway, great videos, very informative.
Bmw Back to mother Nature 😍😍 One of the very best Mechanic 👍✌
This is my Netflix. been waiting for it since the lockdown 😊 By the way, no torque converter fluid to change? Hope you don't have to open it again haha

I've just stumbled on this channel and it's my new favourite. You do an amazing job and I love the knowledge you drop so casually. Top work mate
26:50 German version of Doug DeMuro 😂

That's an insult. Doug is trash
Doug deMoron.
The SERBIAN version. He isn't German.
Hello sir, I'm wondering how much cost this one car after you restaurated it? I love your work. Greetings from big BMW fan!
20,000 euro
Thank you for gracing us with a 30min video in these difficult times.! 🙏
I love it how you pay attention to detail. Looking forward to the next video with the Dubai 750iL
Worst part of your videos: waiting for the next video.
26:56 a Doug Demuro reference? 😁
Yup
I hate it. What is it? Why? All stuffs from Europe are good?? I don't believe it.
Another great vid! I get huge enjoyment out of watching these. I've been thinking of getting a 750iL but was daunted by the possible maintenance nightmare it may become. Your videos, besides being very educational, are also entertaining. You've got a great sense of humour and i like that you include the satisfying 'click' of bolts breaking loose and torque wrenches reaching their setting. It's also nice to watch someone passionate about what they're doing and combining it with intelligence and thoughtfulness. Bravo...carry on (please).
I've been enjoying your videos as I find them easy to watch, plus I like the fact that you are a very detail driven person.
i do too, skips the repeated or boring process but still explains everything, no shitty timelapse, the only channel so far on youtube
Geez, that transmission fluid :| I just laughed my a** out, while you were announcing and breaking those tail lights. :'D Great video again, just cant wait to see this beauty completed. PS.: dont you have in mind giving those new tail lights some kinda protection? Like a good wax, ceramic coat, PPF.
I coated them with some Sonax protection coating.
I’m in awe of your ability to diagnose and repair the issues. I have a friend who has own several 90’s 8-series & one 90’s V12 7-series. I loved those cars.
I always cheer up when I see you have another video up. Love the way you work, who on earth paints a pulley.. ain't nobody got time for that! The eye for detail in truly awesome!
This work really liked the people who care for their cars ... really this is an excellent work, and it feels love with your car ... Thank you for spreading the beautiful feeling with the car.
Großartig zu sehen das eins der Autos wieder so gut aufgebaut wird.
Dude. I've just found your channel and it's an absolute joy to watch. And I'm not even into cars that much. Super relaxing and inspiring content. Instant subscriber.
The e32 and e38 V12's are still my all time favourite BMW's having owned and restored two myself, I love watching you bring these majestic cars back from the dead. Someday I hope that I might own one again.
Love how you cleaned the heat shield and the panel behind the license plate holder. Fantastic attention to detail. Great channel.
I am a huge Merc fan but my son and I never miss any of your videos. Looking forward to the new projects. Thank you for another awesome video!!!
Thank you for yet another great video. It is great to see you put all the professional TLC in those BMW’s. Awesome!
I love saving old BMWs. I'm owning a 10/1993 e36 325i convertible in mint condition, for 17 years now. Some Dutch regards, Nico
I love to see how simple is the mechanics on these cars. You did an excellent job resurrecting such a magnificent machine. Hello to everybody, from Puerto Rico. Please be safe and healthy.
