My dream knit for 2023 is a blanket. I love to dream of all the knits but a blanket is really calling my name so I am in the process of finding that perfect one😉You are such an inspiration with all your knits. I just love your channel!
Ok I've finally decided!!!! My dream knit is going to be the Viking Boat Jacket by Sandnes Garn.....yarn shopping commencing ⚓
I have now added a million more projects to my queue. I personally am partial to you working the Saglan in the charcoal grey. 😜
Inga, you’re truly the Queen of the North with the fur and the throne and the wheel 👑❤
Hahahhaha😂💕
I'm working on two dream knits by Marie Wallin - Brambling & Lydia. Both are knit flat in pieces that you sew together. Brambling is a oversized pullover fair isle sweater knit in Aran weight yarn. Good beginner to intermediate sweater. I chose to double up Marie Wallin's British Breeds yarn to give me Aran weight. Knitting it in the colors Eau de nil and Foxglove. I love this sheepy-smelling yarn so much! The fabric is knitting up nice and thick and just gorgeous. It's going to keep me so snuggly warm. I'm knitting the Lydia sweater in Harrisville Designs yarn because I had trouble finding the Rowan yarn the pattern calls for (it might be discontinued). I'm happy with the color choices. They match the pattern very closely except for a couple of colors that I had to buy from Jaimeson & Smith. The Jaimeson & Smith yarn is a little thinner than the HD yarn, but not noticeable. Lydia is an allover fair isle with elbow length sleeves. Despite it being a shorter knit, it is taking me a long time because it is for advanced knitters (purling fair isle is slow work). Also it's taking longer because I started knitting a size smaller than what fits me, so I had to frog it and start over. Hoping to have both finished by the fall. Thanks for sharing your lovely Olympic sweater!
According to Walt Disney if you dream it , you do it! Inga, thank you for sharing your dreams and plans, very kind of you 😊. May all you dreams come true ! It so great when people send positive messages!🥰🙋♀️
Oh thank you!
😊😊😊buna dimineata😊 cu respect😊😊😊
My dream knit right now is the satellite shawl by Andrea Mowry 😊
You simply are amazing. ❤️
When I first learned to knit in the 90s, I fell in love with an Olympics sweater pattern but I really did not have the skill set then. I ended up purchasing a Dale of Norway sweater when I attended the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is a little small now over 20 years later and it is very itchy and heavy, so I wear it very rarely here in Virginia.
I have dreams of a knitted bathrobe, an oversized just very comfortable sweater (the hug type), a warm kofte style colorwork cardigan and some beautiful complex shawls to keep my brain engaged in times it needs to be distracted from its own thoughts :-)
Sounds great!:D
H Inga xx I think you should swatch on on 4.5mm for your sleeves xxx I love the Olympic sweater(s) you’re creating. It would be a shame if it doesn’t fit. Podcasting from your comfy chair reminds me of your first podcasts. You’re just missing a fire and the tip=tapping of dog paws on the floor xxx
Arboreal, a clock (have had the kit for a few years), more animals from the book Knitted Animal Friends, sorrel by wool and pine, Vinterfjell by skeindeer, sandstone tee, slippers for the cabin, through stone sweater (from an old craftsy course) setesdahl cowl by kirsten drysdsle, selbu mittens also by kirsyen drysdale, no frills cardigan by petite knits.
That metal ring would probably be available at Hobby Lobby in their jewelry making area or you might try Fire Mountain Gems its a supplier of jewelry making beads and many other things they even will send you a free catalog that is packed with many lovely items and I thing I've seen a ring similar in their catalog. You might be able to find on the internet list as a heavy metal jump ring. Good luck. I love all of your completed projects.
As it happens, I cast on a dream knit recently without knowing about this knit along. It's a drawing sweater in fingering weight instead of sport. It's my first time with a purchased pattern that isn't part of a book, with changing gauge, with hand dyed yarn, and with colorwork. I must dream of challenge! 🤣😇 I'm optimistic. I did a gauge swatch.
Wonderful dream knits Inga! I can’t wait to see your Olympic sweater. One of my dream knits is the First Light Sweater by Liv Ulven. Maybe I’ll join your KAL! 💗
Love the Norwegian sweater your making. What a beautiful design! Love your blog as usual!! Look forward to your informative and relaxing style every time I see a new episode. I still can’t get believe how fast you knit. (Jealous)
Thank you so much!
Ilha means "Isle" (island) in Portuguese and is pronounced "eel-ya". Noelle of Knits n Pieces made it recently and showed it on her podcast; it should be on Ravelry as well.
The Olympic sweater is epic!!! I’ve been wanting the Favo sweater for so long! It’s in my library and everything! I just need the perfect yarn!
Let me know if you find it;)
I enjoy listening to your plans. Gorgeous picks.
I'm so glad!
I recently finished one of my dream knits which was the Nordiska jumper. It made me feel very proud of finally finishing it as I started it 3 times and frogged it twice. Many beautiful dream knits on your list 😊
Yey! Isnt it wonderful having finally made it😁
@@knittingtraditions it is ☺️. Also it is a great confidence boost for the next project!
"I can't even read my own writing" said no doctor ever 😊 Uhhh dream knit - den får jag suga på ett tag. Kul!
-hehe ;)
Fabulous video You are al2ays such a great inspiration! I love these sweaters! I love the idea of a dream knit list!
Thank you so much!
I would love to knit the Rose Cardigan, I had the yarn for several years. I would also like to knit a pattern from Irene Lin and Kieran Foley (probably the Kurdish Shawl).
Lovely inspiring dreams. For spring I am dreamming of the Traveller Tunic by Joji Locatelli, for summer knit I dream of Novel-T by Laura Nelkin and in an undefined future there is the Fiona, all grown-up by Sanne Bjerregaard and maybe the Lesley Tee by Noma Ndlovu which is a bit like a tunic and I might choose to elongate it as a dress.
I think I am the last person on the planet to knit the love note and the ranunculus, but they are definitely on my dream list to knit this year.
I am with you on this I have yet to knit the love note and ranunculus !!
Maybe I should join your kal ... I´ll start the new design of grey-wl knits soon, and I really waited for that pattern! On the other hand I have a lot of yarn for the sweaters of unwind design, I adore these pattern so much. And yes, maybe I should start the lovely sweaters of Andrea Mowry and Caitlin Hunter ... I bought yarn years ago and they are still in my stash, waiting for the cast on. Happy knitting!
Can’t wait to see these knit up x
Oh wow! Quite the line up. I would love to knit the Twigs along with you. It's a bit too baggy for me too, so I shall wait to see what you do with it : ) If I didn't know better, I think you might have baby fever ( wink wink )
Inga, your colourwork knitting is amazing. You are very talented. Colourwork is something I have yet to tackle. It intimidates me.
You can do it! Its a breeze once you get the tension and floats right and so much fun💕
I just bought yarn for the favo! I'm a tad nervous, but there's a great process video on KZhead
I am so on board with your Ailbions dream knits. I have them both on my knit list too. I’m leaning toward the Saglan first. My other dream knits are the Intarsia Top from Anna Husemann and the Michels Sweater by Junko. I tested The Miles and it was one of my favorite patterns to knit. I made mine with Manchelopis. It’s actually quite light and airy. I think the Plötulopi would be great to have something cozy. You have an amazing list!!! 🙌🙌🙌
I will definitely be joining you for Dream Knitalong. I will start in April when we start our Holiday time ⏲ 😎
Sounds great!
i love it, i know what i gonna cast on the birkin
I keep saying I am going to CO the Weekender. I need to do it.
i would love to knit the waffle loop set by other loops!
I’m so glad you chose Cascade 220. For those of us in the Pacific Northwest, it’s a reliable standard that’s loved.
My dream knit is Joe Batts Arm by Jennifer Beale. I actually bought the main yarn, but got waylaid by other, less challenging projects.....
I have a lot of vintage pattern on my dream-knits list, but one thing I especially want to make is not a specific pattern but any overall colourwork garment. I haven't done colourwork before and there are so many beautiful designs I want to have.
That's a great idea! You can do it🥰
Got loads i want to knit and crochet, but got 3 family knits to complete first x
My ultimate dream knit is a cabled sweater❤
When does the dreamknitkal end??!!
lasts all year
Dream Knits ..what a fabulous idea! I have a long list of possibilities and even more after watching your marvellous podcasts :)
I have the Dale 1994 Olympic sweater. I wanted to try and collect all of the ones I could find. I should knit them. I've wanted the 2002 one but it's always expensive. I couldn't edit though🤔
My dream knit is the arctic light jumper by Veronika Lindberg, I have the mohair yarn but not the main yarn yet.
It’s the shifty sweater that immediately springs to mind for me. I must have considered dozens of colour combos at this point. I just can’t decide!
I love this! I know exactly what I’m going to do for my entry. I have been spinning the yarn for a sweater for my husband for years. 😂 time to actually get it done and knit it up!
Wonderful!
Thank you Inga! Your sweaters and yarns are absolutely beautiful! Love podcast ! Xx 💜
Oooh so many lovely pattern ideas! Some are getting added to my list. Thanks for sharing! I’m so hoping to cast on the Marit cardigan by Kristin Drysdale this year. I’ve had the yarn for a couple years, but keep holding off… I think because I’ve chosen neutrals for versatility, but I’m not super inspired by the palette. I keep trying different combinations though and just keep going back to my original choice. I also really want to start the Yokey-Dokey by Gudrun Johnston. I’m pretty sure of my colours for that one - black with rusts and mauves!
❤❤❤
❤🧡💛💚💙💜💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Last night, after watching this Podcast episode, I dreamt we would meet and knit together :D Very inspiring KAL. I am already reflecting on my dream knits and will join.
Wonderful!
Your list is so much like mine
That swatch is truly gorgeous!
worrying about running out of yarn has been a big thing holding me back from cast ons. Thanks for the encouragement to try!
You can do it!💕💕💕
Thanks Inga - such a great KAL idea and lots of inspiration- many of those are on my list too!!
So glad!
I will commit to a colorwork yoke sweater. I am not great with the tension but maybe this is the year. ❤
You can do it!
So excited! Happy Sunday to me!
Beautiful inspiration! Love the Lillehammer swatch! Right now on my list is the Fairy Bouquet by Joanna Ang!
Tusen takk for en koselig og inspirerende strikkestund ❤ Mange flotte planer.
I’m so excited for your kal. Loving your spinning wheel
I just put the Ilha on my dream list!
Wow!!! You are my color work inspiration!!! Can’t wait to see this sweater work-up.
Such lovely dream knit aspirations! Very inspiring. Thank you Inga.
I love the Alaska sweater! It's one of my favorite makes and I wear it frequently. I made it into a cardigan which was my first steeked garment. Definitely recommend! Your Olympics sweater is looking gorgeous.
I would love to make myself a pair of f I gloves this year x
I love the idea! I have two patterns that instantly came to mind: Cherry dress from Sandnes garn (knitted dresses are the best) and Smilla sweater by Anne Venzel ❤ I already have the yarn for the dress, so I'll start with that. I made a "knitting plans and intentions" video at the start of this year and it's basically full of my dream knits 😆 I'm really looking forward to this KAL! Thank you for this inspiring video 🫶🏻
I cannot wait to knit the new Caidree Dartmoor Sweater V for the KAL - I just need to figure out what yarn to use!
This gave me so much inspiration! I've had the Ilha on my dream-list for awhile, after I finished my Sark pullover. I also have a couple of Teti Lutsak's patterns on my list. Your Lillehammer genser is already looking spectacular! I'm excited to take part in the KAL/MAL (I will be knitting)! Thank you!! 💖
Love it! ❤ just started my dream sweather of 2023 - Sunday mohair by Petitknit, I thought it will be impossible as I am a new knitter , but so far so good 🤩
Thanks Inga, for another great podcast AND I love this idea of having a Dream Knits KAL. I too have Oksa and Ilha on my list - they've been there since the patterns were first released. I have the yarn and I look forward to making them for this KAL. Thanks again and happy knitting! 🤩🤩
I've always loved the Lillehammer sweater - the best of the Dalegarn Olympic sweaters! I've had the English version of the pattern for years but haven't had the skills. I'm getting there! The pamphlet has coordinating hats, mittens and a pair of stockings - I could work my way up to it. :) I'm so excited to watch your progress on this one! I remember those Olympic Games well too - lots of drama that year.
Lovely selection! I too have been thinking about a black sweater 🫣but haven’t worked myself up to it! I had to rip back Talvinen because the neck was way to small so I’d like to get that done. The Lovage ; Cosette, and Lure which has had several false starts. So hanks for the KAL can’t wait to see what people make😊
I have also just finished a dream knit - the Lyrah Sweater by Natasja Hornby. Also have the yarn for the Corbis sweater! Thanks for the inspiration as always
Takk for en fin episode. Masse lekkert på drømmelista di.
Great to see your dream list for the coming year. I have finished knitting the Vildnis sweater a few weeks ago and have been wearing it alot. I made it in Rowan 'Moordale' which gave it great weight and density, I really enjoyed the knitting as there were several new techniques to me ( even after 60 years of knitting) I made it longer and it is very cosy. I also have Ilha on my list for this year and have just added Oksa. I have all of Alice Starmore's books and will hopefully make at least one of hers this year. Billy, ranunculus and a second Port pullover will also be there for 2023. Thank you for all your inspiration.
Enjoyed seeing your dream list. Several v. good ones. Larsdattir , Felix pullover, rusty cardi and victory cardi to do a steek. Have all the yarns waiting for me.
Once you will have a Baby, you will knitt all the cute things…. I can‘t wait to see them. Hello from switzerland 🇨🇭
I've just finished the Augustins No. 11, the dress in Knitting For Olive, one strand of merino and mohair in Dusty Artichoke, I love it 😍👗
I have the Wishbone sweater by Kutovakika on my dream knit list, she has a lot more wonderful sweaters that I have on my dream knit list but at the moment I don't remember what they are called. Since I'm not really a knitter I haven't cast it on, it's a lot of pattern reading and "flätstickning" as vi say in Swedish, but I have started knitting on the Agnes sweater from Garnius just to test if I have the patience to make the Wishbone sweater.
Am I the only one who says bye cutie pie everytime in the end? 😅
My dream knit would definitely have to be the Holly Cardigan by Hanne Rimmen…but it’s a 3.5mm steeked cardigan!
That sounds great... yea 3.5mm is a bit tiny, but it's a steeked cardigan. I'll take that over a cardi knit flat. As long as you have the right yarn, there's no need to worry about steeking. Also, a lot less unnerving if you go for 5 steeked stitches.
@@Enig_Mata I have steeked a cardigan before, but it was a 3 stitch steek, so maybe I will have to go with a 5 stitch steek to be less nervous!
@@spikeandyarn I think 5 is the sweet spot... I have seen some people do 7, but that's a bit much. How do you reinforce, sewing machine or crochet? I prefer crochet and it's much easier when the steek is P K P K P.
@@Enig_Mata I did the crochet reinforcement! Getting the sewing machine out and all that just seems like too much
Go for it with the 5 steek stitches😍
I've just frogged and restarted my Billie Pullover using cascade 220. It's been on my list for so long! It's beautiful timing with this KAL for motivation :) Thanks for the list additions in this episode 😊
Wonderful!
Love this! I was thinking the Ilyia by Caitlin Hunter, the Stone Crop from Andrea Mowry, and I love this DK shawl Paris Toujours by Isabelle Kraemer. All the best Inga! Kimberly
I cast on my top dream knit at the beginning of the month - the Midori pullover by EweKnit Toronto. I've wanted to make it for a couple of years, and it's bringing me so much joy now that it's on my needles!! I hope your dream knits bring you lots of joy too 🥰 xxx
What a great idea for a KAL! I have a few things in mind. I've wanted to knit something from the Laine Magazine for SO LONG and my first dream project is going to be the Adventitious tee by Olga Putano. My second dream knit is Turist damegenser by Sandnes Design; I'm going to use the same yarn and colours as the men's version because those were the only ones that I liked *and* could buy online all together. 😅 I'm a slow knitter so I'll be VERY happy if/when these two garments are finished but I'd also like to knit the Gro socks and the Humlebi shawl by Fiber Tales. 💙
Oh thats a wonderful list😍
Thank you for amazing inspiration 🥰 You talked about cascade yarn i another episode - there is a yarnstore in Denmark who has some of this yarn the store is called Amrits strik 😉
Wow so many dreams, look forward to seeing them take shape in reality.
You and me both!
I just finished one of my dreamknits this week. It's a Riddari icelandic sweater out of Lettlopi in "very big". Just took a year for that. My other dreamknits are my first Ranunculus and the Yggdrasil mittens from Skeindeer Knits (they look so much Gongor-like to me). I just started a Esjan shawl by Steven West and the next cast on will be a Holiday Slipover by Petite Knit out of self spun yarn. So much to do... Love your channel Inga. I'm happy after every upload🤗
I literalyl finished my Ilha sweater today! It was honestly such a lovely and enjoyable pattern to make. I highly recommend it
Wonderful!
I would like to knit a Dartmoor VNeck when the pattern is available. Have to finish the Copenhagen Cardigan first! The twin green one :))) Love your Olympic project.
Such a fun episode! Your Lillehammer genser is looking so good. I had an old one in 90s colors cream, teal and pink😂 I have it to my daughter and she loves it. I would love one in traditional colors. On my dream knit list are 3 sweaters from Samantha, “theStrikkechick” I think you met her in Tromsø, is that right? The Eyre (I think you would look great in this one), the Bonnieux Cardigan, the Maryland Heights sweater. I also want to knit another villmarks genser but Im not sure which one. Thank you! ❤
I really want to make the Maude Tee by petite knit, Balan Cardi, miles shirt jacket, rug sweater by junko. Ugh I could go on!!
Cast it all on🌚💕🤭🤭
The Miles Shirt Jacket is also on my dream knit list. Such a functional piece! I would also love to knit Caitlin Hunter's Time Trades Shawl and Engle Sweater. The other sweater I am dying to knit is Unwind Knitwear's Petrichor sweater. 😍
Have you seen yarnchaos yt channel? She bought a Finnish knit book by Jenna kostet. Amazing designs!
Ciao Inga, love you podcasts am really enjoy your updates 🤗 You inspired me to tackle my dream knits! 🎉 There are some but many there is my first ever sweater: I would love to knit the Ranunculus by Midori Hirose. Than there would be the Birds of a Feather Shawl by Andrea Mowry and the Euphorium socks (my first socks) by Dawn Henderson. Best Wishes Alexandra 👋🏻🎉😉
My dream knit list is about 50 sweaters long 😆 but definitely on the needles this year will be the Pressed flowers cardigan, and also I'd love to steek a colourwork cardigan this year. ❤️
Oh i forgot, the pressed flowers shawl is also a dream knit of mine
My favorites from your list would be the Ilha and the Twigs. Wish I were a fast knitter.. I have so much yarn for lots of dream projects but could not knit fast enough 😐
I have so many of the same knits on my list. Can’t wait to get your reviews on the patterns before I start. The big on I would love to knit up is the waffle loops sweater and matching skirt by Other Loops. So much knitting 😂
Wonderful!:D
I really want to make the Letho cardigan by Moonstruck knits. I probably won’t get to it this year, but hope to do it sometime in the next few years. I am debating about which colors to use because there are so many choices!
I just finished the Ilha sweater. It’s a very well written and enjoyable knit! I used a Julie Asselin Fino.
Wonderful!
