    • +Wilson Nah, it can backfire. My (Dutch) ex used to impersonate Germans his entire life, whenever he was fooling around with friends and drinking. He spoke through his teeth, lots of 'zzzzzzz'-noises. ' Instead of the actual 'schw' or 'ts.' (schweiz sounds like 'shw-aii-tss' in English pronounciation. His pronounciation would've been 'z-wai-zzzz.' Then one day, he moved to Germany and had to actually learn German to communicate with people. I remember how ashamed I felt for him, when he confidently walked into the sandwich-shop (after having told me that he knew how to speak German and 'díd not need my help!') and then proceeded to go drunk-Hitler-style on the sandwiches. "Ichzw...moohchtzwe...gerne...eine...ZZZZZZZZ-whiiii-behlehn....biiiiih-tte." And when they misheard it, pointing at the onions and going; 'zw-zw--...zzzzzwiiihbeleh!' We're talking about a 26 year old man here, bytheway, not a teenager. He had been taught German for 4 years in school.
