In this episode, I use the Western Star 47X,and 57X models to complete the Out With The Old contract. This three-stage mission requires delivering a construction trailer from the Drummond Island port to the Smithville Dam drilling site, and for this episode, I chose the hard way.
When I first attempted the mission with the big construction trailer, I took the same shortcut you did, but miscalculated my 'water landing' when I started crossing and managed to completely sink a Pacific P16, haha! (Sigh!) Cheers, //Rick
Oh you're bringing back extremely painful memories of me doing this a couple of years ago! Great video man.
Thank you. OMG, the first time I did this contract, I managed to dump the construction trailer off the side of the rickety wooden bridge on the switchback road on the Smithville Dam map. I tried cranes, winches, everything and couldn't get it out of that ravine. I ended up having to restart the contract!
Great commentary! Had fun watching
Thank you much!
@@smythadjacent I usually used heavy class truck's for those trailer's
@@zatanna-xyt2606 For this playthrough, I'm using only Western Star trucks. I think this one is best at hauling the big trailers. At least off road!
@@smythadjacent True when you get to the Amur region it hits different I tried it out there it didn't work out for me.
@@zatanna-xyt2606 I'll bet it didn't!
Looking forward to the next one!
Thank you!
Love the vids
Thank you!
Well done 👏. Hiccups in the process are to be expected when trying something new. Thank you 👍.
Hey, thanks! It was a challenge for sure!
Always a great day when you release a video!
Hey thanks! These are fun to make, and I'm enjoying starting from scratch again.
@@smythadjacent I know that you make them fun to watch! I'm in Alaska now but I can say that I like Michigan much better.
@@charlesmckinney3560 At my current pace, I think I'll be hitting Alaska early next year :)
You should be patient with trucking 😂. Know your truck capabilities otherwise taking the short route is the same as long route. Anyways good video, your commentary and editing feels relaxing
Thank you! I'm usually pretty patient to start, but get excited and want to do everything faster!
Sorry for the book but..... At 10:22 you took the path around the farm straight from the road. You are the only one I have seen who takes this path from all the other showrunner gamer/how too, videos other than myself. I see all of them struggling to get through the driveway and are always giving tips on the best way through making sure to stay close to the trees for winching.I also take the path around the other side when going to the dam from the farm or coming from the dam. I took the road once through the middle and it took me forever to get through. Around is so much easier and don't see how the "experts" never found these paths. Looks like you had a long 2-year break after the first videos. Glad you have started back up. Keep those videos coming.😉👍 PS: About the better route to the drill sight. Go the long way around to the right of the log station. It is Faster and easier. When you took a left at 10:57 go instead slightly to the right just to the right of the white-barked tree right on the corner heading straight for the back corner of the log station building. If you did this right you will have pretty good speed. Then you have to be careful and thread the needle. Head straight for the two small pine trees right behind the building and aim for the left one. behind the right one is a stump. Then it is just straight ahead. Try to stay out of the ruts. You are faster to the right or the left of the road on the grass. If you do have to avoid something on the side of the road cross the road at 45-degree angles and stay in the grass as much as possible. You should be at the drill sight in less than 4 min........
Thanks! I still take the main road to the farm from time to time, kind of as a benchmark test, but for normal play, I mostly skirt around the fields (sometimes opting to smash the pumpkins behind the farmhouse on my way to the Once a Farmer always a Farmer achievement!) I'm going to try that alternate route you suggested!
Agreed on both route recommendations!
This is like when I tried to cross the river with that trailer but dumped it and the truck in the water, and spent at least an hour fishing them out and then getting back up to the road! 😣
Great video Quick question out of all the trucks in Snowrunner what one would be your fav?
Oh wow, great question! I have a floating top 3-5 at any given time, but if I had to choose one, it would be the 57X. I've been using the heck out of it on this new playthrough I'm doing and just find it very satisfying to drive. Also in the top 5 are the 47X NF1430, Step 33-64 Crocodile, Tayga 6436, and Azov 73210. However, if I had to choose one vehicle to play the entire game with, it would be the Azov 64131. It is slow but incredibly versatile and has never let me down. I'd put a mini crane and low fifth wheel on it, hook up a 5-slot sidewall trailer and never look back. Luckily I don't have to choose just one!
Thanks for the answers keep up the good work in your videos, You have inspired me to play Snowrunner again.
11:38 going from the farm to the edge of the lake there's a quite small ish road that is quicker, but you need far slimmer and normal truck for it
5:40 u could just have winched the back of the trailer to the trees on the left side
Oh believe me, I tried. I had about 30 minutes of gameplay footage of me trying to winch from just about every point on that trailer!
wait until you get to the Amur map you're gonna lose your shit XD
Hahaha! No way I'm trying Amur with these trucks!! I'll use some of the AWD/always-on diff trucks.
P16 truck mod by JBE, you'll never have that problem again...
Just turn damage off. Problem solved.
Is that something you can do after the game is started?
nice gameplay, nice video, well come to my channel)
Thank you! I like the Kamaz 6560 vid on your channel!
Lmao your dumb commentary is just making me laugh. Good job man
