  • NOTE: At one point, I said 1985 was the year the first motorcycle was invented. The correct year is 1885. I apologize for the error and thank my viewers for pointing it out.

    • Ya harley aftermarket is practically dominant by stunt riding these days and performance baggers.. It's all guys 20 to 40. Hence, the popularity of the st models recently released specifically copying the overwhelming club and stunt style bikes built by the younger demographic . You should do your homework on the current demographic a little better.

  • During WWI Indian close down selling to the public to directly supply the war. 50k motorcycle were delivered. Which was the down fall for Indian and the leg up Harley Davidson needed to take the lead in the USA market. Since they only delivered 1/3 of there product to the war.

  • Some nice revealing side notes on the early days but all in all, not a bad production. Not sure why you displayed Japanese V twins whilst talking about Harleys. Would have been better if you used those metric bikes whilst talking about the competition copying the great American original. But you didnt even put that section in there. So not sure if the research was done well at all. Hey Ho.

  • Harley needs to build an inexpensive motorcycle to gain young clients but we all know that's been necessary for over 20 years now. Apparently, the C.E.O. wants to offer the most expensive models instead! Maybe a replacement C.E.O. is in order for their survival?

    • Indian bikes arent made by Indian MoCo. But they are well made and a bit lighter. Problem is they ride feel and sound like any other V twin. Unfortunately Harley are going that way too.

  • Harley Davidson has never been able to overcome it’s “Hell’s Angels” bad boy image. Primarily because most of their loyal customers buy and ride the brand as much for the “bad boy” image as anything else. For too many years the bikes have been unreliable, oil leakers and most modern (young) riders prefer other brands while Harley struggles on hoping retired “gummers” will live long enough to buy another….

  • Think them remodeling the sportster with the 1250T motor and introducing the pan America will help. The adv market is becoming huge and the new Sportster s hopefully meshes well with younger riders. It being more affordable and being fast helps as most jap/European sport bikes are much faster than Harleys. If anything Indian being brought back and making similar style bikes will make Harley innovate as they have true competition from an American motorcycle brand.
