“The Astra is a genuinely good family car. It’s good to drive and quite uncomfortable” 😂😂
oh m8 i was just writing that but ohhh i spotted your comment and stopped 😂😂
heard that
I heard that as well and agree with it. My mate hired one recently and we were expecting something like a Golf or Focus the way these guys go on about it. We both thought it was a pile of rubbish, no way in the same league.
But it still has the appeal of a verruca
the astra is the best
The UK and Ford Focus are simply inseparable.
That my friend, is very true
TJ Tshaba exactly, so many cheapskates who love that piece of unreliable shit
It’s a piece of shit
That's because the majority can't afford a BMW or a Mercedes haha. Everything here is a little bit expensive!
Oliver James Stevens I’m quite spoilt so my parents got me a 2013 bmw 1 series as my first car. Whereas my friends have Ford fiestas and Vauxhall Corsas
I just woke up Sunday morning. I have a coffee, a cigarette and off to the loo watching carwow. Little pleasures of life.
Reaching 2m subs , congratulations carwow
Hope Matt dances for special edition
Shut up.gay boi
What about you stupid 😂😂
Get an M140i while you still can!!!!
Ahmen to that! Last of its breed 😢
Actually, as you know, the new 1 series will be FWD but the performance version ( M140 ) will remain RWD.
A35 is better
ZK1604 Nice joke
Spiro no, the entire 1-Series range will become front/all wheel drive and there will not be a six-cylinder M140i any more
Great video, congrats for the 2M (almost)!!!
Mazda, please give carwow a new Mazda 3 to review. It looks so amazing and has such great reviews from every other journalist. Why won't you lend one to Matt!!
I love ❤️ this kind of videos and congratulations 🍾🎉 on 2 million subscribers (in advance you almost there)
Can you make the Top 10 videos for each car category?
corolla number 2 mercedes 1
The Corolla's librarian comment was brilliant and hysterically funny, not to mention effective. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Got an Astra as a company car, and really see no trouble with the boot, and it doesn't feel cheap at all. Really love the car actually
I want best coupes for 2019/2020 and best sedans for 2019/2020 Matt!
I've got the BMW 120D with xdrive, fantastic car, switched up from a Volkswagen polo and it's like day and night, very quiet cabin, amazing driving characteristics and top notch quality! I'd reccomend it to anyone who prioritizes the driving experience more than the slightly reduced practicality over some of it's competitors.
fredriksdal10 Would 100% agree! I own the same car!
Only problem is that is very expensive. With that money you can buy something else. Even sportier still.
I’m too addicted to this channel 😂👍
I'm literally in stitches watching this. This guy is hilarious!!!
Greetings from Alberta, 🇨🇦... hey, fun looking cars!
Really love the Focus. Excellent choice Carwow
I'm getting the Focus on motability so I'm really happy that you think its the best. can't wait.
Hi Mat. Big respect for supprting the best car journalist Jacka Balkana. Can`t wait to see my favourite 2 working together... Nice april fools joke, BTW
Thankyou carwow for this nice video 👌
What about the Seat Leon?
same category as golf 7
@@Nexoo91 It is definetely more fun to drive and a bit cheaper. Very happy with mine!
And especially better looking then most cars in that list
@@aventdrr i have My st Line Fiesta 140 HP and wow amazing
Exactly! My 2nd favourite after the Škoda. It surely fits into this top 10 more than the BMW anyways.
Where is the mazda 3 ? I couldn't believe, you didn't mention about it.
Car Wow and Mazda don't seem to get on.
@@LK-vv2xk can you blame them with their German bias and moving centre consoles on non German cars?
carwow decided that all of presented cars got better interior and better look than mazda 3 even kia , golf , and plastic focus... well done carwow lol
@@RobSinox Mazda 3 looks way better and have way better looking more premium interiors than most of these and drives better.
@@apan77 absolutely agreed lol....i was sarcastic 😅😉
I'm not a Ford guy but it looked like it fit 3 in the back pretty good AND it looks sexy like the Benz...
Any review coming for the BMW X1 2019 facelift?
The reasonably priced Kia cee-apostrophe-d! 😎
Drove a diesel focus from northern germany to austria on the autobahn (1173 kms), almost all the way pedal to the metal, very comfortable for a 193cm (6'3") height. Stopped once to pee and drink quickly. Average speed of 170km/h, tops around 210. Not bad ford, not bad
I also drink my urine J L! People often criticize it because it's "disgusting" and it could make my breath smell of wee. However, I had found that my urine actually tastes better and fruitier than when I first started, making the experience slightly more pleasurable while also not affecting my breath. For those starting out, I suggest carrying around mint chewing gum so your breath does not smell of wee. I recommend the CB12 Boost Strong Mint Chewing Gum, although it may be pricey, the quality of the product and its ability to override any aroma making your breath smell the freshest it ever has helps make the price worth it. I suggest only doing this once a day, ideally in the morning or just before bed. I know people who have tried doing it twice a day but this can affect the colour of their wee, making it too clear which is not healthy for your digestion as natural salts in your body are diluted which creates chemical imbalances in your blood. If you are worried about whether or not drinking urine can negatively affect your health, DO NOT WORRY, drinking urine has many health benefits. For example, I easily developed rashes and prickly heat during the summertime, which led to me finding it hard to sleep at night during June, July, August, and the beginning of September. Only after a few days of drinking my urine did my negative skin reaction to the heat start to lessen, now after only 2 years all my allergic skin reactions completely went away. Other people find that drinking urine can benefit their acne, colds/flu, infections, and even avoid future heart problems and perhaps even cancer!! Overall, I am not forcing anyone to drink their urine. This is just a personal choice I have made for myself and I do not object to anyone else to this practice. I actually go out of my way to never drink urine in front of anyone, treating consumption of my wee like going to the toilet, a private thing that no one else needs to be concerned about. I understand that this lifestyle can seem extreme and unpleasant to other people and that is absolutely fine, I thought the same until I started to try it. P.S. My personal favourite family car is the Ford Focus. Ford has recently upped their game in terms of the appearance of their cars, with the front grills reminding me of Aston Martins, which are cars I adore but like the majority of us could never afford. At the moment own a 2012 Toyota Yaris, which I bought second-hand in 2014. Toyota cars are brilliant cars and very reliable, but I am going to sell mine since I and my lovely wife of 3 years now are planning to start a family and move house once the economy becomes more stable and predictable again, which will be difficult in a small car. I have been saving up for a bigger family-sized car for about 2 years now and the Ford Focus is the one I'm decided on, hopefully around winter next year I should have the chance to purchase one!
Mat have you ever reviewed the 2019 Skoda Octavia vrs?
I'm quite agree with the Focus 1st place but I'll go to Astra. It is seriously underrated car. With the right spec options it is the best value for money in the class.
Benzinio Opel Astra is Great but there are downsides: 1. Automatic options are just ok 2. Fun factor to drive is just ok 3. lack of modern features (although the features that are present work really well) 4. interior design (personal taste of course)
Well... lets see how to address this: 1st - I rather have a bit dull Opel's auto then "exciting" VW DSG or any double clutch. It works well enough for someone who is looking for comfort. 2nd - The fun factor is average for the class. Cant match Focus or 1 series driving enjoyment but it is better then most. 3rd and 4th - I'm a bit confused... I personally wouldn't check many of the modern features boxes any way. Most of this is useless shit. I would go to the excellent lights (one of the class leasing), the AGR seats (again one of the best seats that can match with Mercedes luxury class or Volvo seats), and the optional audio pack which is far of the best but kind of works - I really don't need anything more. That's why I said "with the right options"... and I personally quite like the interior and the exterior. I rather purchase mid spec Astra and with saved money buy small second hand roadster for fun then put almost double the price for well spec Audi, Merc or BMW and pay premium for maintenance...
Cool! I would add the Megane and the new Mazda3
@R A Ok....
Honda Civic is a very good car with the new turbo engines. It needs to be in top five.
Almost at 2 million matt!
Thanks for the video!
Peugeot 308 not even on the list but somehow he finds room for every overpriced and impractical German family car going. 🙉🙉🙉
Why are the German cars impractical??
Well BMW has a ridiculously small boot for example. And a harsh ride. Low rear windows. Cramped as hell in the back. 308 is widely recognised as a super family car, as was car of the year when it came out. Much more practical and better value for money than ANY of the German cars on the list.
I own a Peugeot 3008 and love it, i agree the 308 should be on the list but the German cars are still not impractical and I've never heard any reviews class them as that
The BMW is definitely impractical as a family car. I have a friend who owns one and the boot is a joke compared to our Citroen C4. The C4 btw is an old model now but still a much better choice for someone with kids.. has class leading boot size, is well equipped and very economical diesel engines . But it's not German.
The 308 is probably number 11 ;). It’s starting to show at age (facelift is cool but not a new model like the 208), driving experience is poor for its class ( seriously - I’d rather driver the 3008...) but it’s practical and design is cool. I think French car makers are better than the Germans in the smaller SUV class (not micro though... 2008 Peugeot is horrible) but family hatchbacks?
You should do a best car for young drivers (cheap insurance ) video
Bring more TOP 10's :D
I thought you said “like a soup from marks and Spencer’s” 😂😂
I'm pretty sure you didn't complain about the Ceed's driving experience when you tested it. Let's not forget, unlike the VAG cars, every model gets multi link rear suspension. You're not penalised if you buy a cheaper, smaller engined variant. Unlike VAG......
This lot are associated with VAG from what I understand, they never say it in their videos which is somewhat disturbing, isn't it.
and with that 1 ltr engine I am sure that suspension tech will make a huge difference. I also drove an estate version of the old Ceed and while it was comfortable enough it was awful on motorway cruises. The car would not settle and constantly had to be corrected, the steering sensitivity adjust button seemed to do nothing. Didn't have that issue in the Passat, Focus, Hyundai or my Leon Cupra
@@L8ugh1ngm8n1 CRAAAAAIG DAAAAVID, IT'S TIME FOR THE RRRREEEEEEEWIND. CHAMONE MOTHERFUCKERS.
@@L8ugh1ngm8n1 it doesn't matter how powerful the car is, going down country roads you'll feel the benefit of multi link suspension. The previous C'eed did not have multi link suspension and your talking about a completely different car, so your point is moot.
Ford is doing the same as VAG now. Smaller engine don't get the independent rear suspension.
amazing vids
The new Focus with LED headlights looks great
@R A How is it a peasant's car? Do want a king's car in this price range?
@@Sto79Be I'm talking about the Ful LED headlights. There are no xenon bulbs on the new Focus
3:56 Croatia, so proud :D
Haha da recenzija za a klasu je bila u splitu i okolici
Focus best. Of course. But I believe that Mazda 3 should be positioned 3rd or 2nd here. Apart from rear passenger space it's really excellent overall. P.S. I own an Astra K 1.6 CDTi 110.
The new focus genuinely is a really nice car
Well done Ford, truly nice value for money😊
i think they star make better Europa car than the american car
That's stupid
Idk what it is about Skoda but I just love em 😂
I am in the market for a new family car in the next 14 months .Had a look inside the Focus and was appalled by how flimsy it is compared to my four year old Golf. Remember there is a new 1 series BM released this year as well as the Golf Mk8. A new Golf means new VAG group Octavia , A3 etc will follow shortly. So be aware the old models here will suffer bigger depreciation as a result . I won’t change until early 2020 as a result . He didn’t mention the Mini Clubman bt the way. It’s not a bad car and big enough for most needs.
3:57 It was my language on sat navigation. :)
Just bought an Infiniti q30 the other week. One of the best looking hatchbacks out there, super comfortable to drive and a fantastic interior. 1.5 diesel is a great engine too!
Didnt you say in one of your early reviews that you prefer the Astra over the Golf? Howcome you changed your mind suddenly?
Missing all the French cars like PEUGEOT 308 Citroen C4/C3 Renault Mégane and Hyundai i30 from Korea
Vauxhall is a French car now
@@ekenzobaba no it's still English but owned by the French company PSA group who owns Citroen Peugeot DS-Automobiles and Vauxhall/Opel
@@deltagames3864 You are right but here in Germany, Vauxhall is exactly the same as Opel and belongs to PSA Group as you stated but Opel is not really seen as a German car anymore here. Maybe it is different for Vauxhall over there.
@@ekenzobaba I'd say the quality is dropping in Opel now
@@ekenzobaba It still gets advertised as Brilliant British Brand over here, which is amazing that they managed to get two things wrong in a three word statement. they are not Brilliant, they haven't been British for over a decade now and yeah it's a Brand.
Great vid! But u guys spelt Vauxhall wrong 😂
Honesty the 2018 BMW 118D Xdrive Black shadow edition . It’s beautiful car and great fuel efficiency, but the price really High I used now for a year I’m so happy with it and I trolled Snowmobile with it no problem. I not choose M140 because I need it for long drive but the price between M140 and 118 actually not much depends on options you choose.
Cool cars 👍😎
Surprised to see the Golf in 4th. I've got the Astra and definitely wouldn't of put it in eight , either! Great car!
Nice Video. I think mazda 3 could be kn the list

I’m 19 and looking at buying a merc A class. What trim do you guys think I should get??
A35 my man if you can afford it but I'll probably buy the focus since that's a lot cheaper to run
What do people here recommend: buying or leasing? Just interested to know what the pros/cons are from people who have done either.
i have an octavia and i love shopping in lidl :D
asd I tolerate shopping at Lidl but I think the Skoda Octavia is a great car for practical minded people! If the Focus didn’t show up with a lot of great rebates I would have gotten one

Well actually nowadays you can get the Audi A3 in Black Edition which gives you S Line Interior+Exterior package, Connectivity package, black styling and tinted glass for 600 EUR, apprx. which is a very good deal
Vauxhaul is opel ?
Muammer Erdem Mergen yes
@BMW_SA I trust that the next generation 1 series is gonna be better than the previous version especially when it comes to the space for passengers & boot space
No Mazda 3 and Astra better than Civic? Matt you are very fun to watch and sadly that is all I can say about carwow...
Background music please @carwow
Ok, but can anyone of these fit a whole family inside the boot, bodies intact or otherwise
dank demer there are different kinds of family’s, not all of them consists of 6 people. Since these cars are spacius and practical and can fit at least four people with their luggage, I think they are good family cars.
It would be the Octavia then, that boot can take anything
Yeah... with no need to saw the people's legs of with a hammer!
Seat leon ?
Ford focus is the best small family hatchback imo. Nice looking, drives well (according to mat), practical and cheaper than the Germans
ClichedGem6363 It drives really good with the smaller engines and amazing with the larger ones (get multi link rear)
Picking up my new M140i tomorrow!!! 😃
When will we get a review on the Lexus LX570?
I’ve got a 54 plate Auto Honda CR-V and it gets me 18mpg, spark plugs changed, had a full service, tyres checked and balanced. Still can’t get anymore mpg, any ideas?

I'd take the 1 series, thanks
A class is 2nd 😂, no way with that Renault engine, by the time you spec the car with the options to make it worthwhile, you may as well sell the family!
