Indestructible walnut dining table.

If you were to ask me what my favorite dining table is that I’ve ever built, it would be this beautiful
round trestle table! Round tables like this have so much character, and the pedestal base adds
interest and intrigue to any space. The walnut that I used actually needed to dry for two years before
I was able to use it! The wait was well worth it...the color and grain of the wood added to the
fantastic trestle table design. Let me know what you think!

  • Love the (classic) video! How do you deal with squeeze out when using epoxy? I'm always nervous to use it for glue ups because it's so messy, even with the benefit of more open time

    @jsoliman85@jsoliman852 жыл бұрын
    • For epoxy squeeze out, I wipe the excess with acetone. Nowadays, I use TotalBoat THIXO which is a 2-part thickened epoxy which is much easier to control how much of a mess you make because it doesn't run all over the place. It comes in a tube, like caulk, and uses a mixing tip to combine the 2 parts as it comes out of the tube. I swear by that stuff. Gives you about 30-35 minutes of open time.

  • Awesome vid man! Do you happen to have a build video or plans for that flattening sled you used in the beginning? That's probably about that largest I could manage in my current shop, so im definitely interested in building my own

  • Ok KJ, awesome work but you’ve heard that enough, right? So, for us beginners who dream of some day doing this ourselves, how about a heads up or guesstimate what it takes (time & materials) and what you’d sell it for on the retail end? I’d love nothing more than to build one for the wife (my test piece) while building one for a paying (& excited) client. Any help? Thanks in advance. Kind Regards, John

  • I always love how we always say "don't forget to check for square" haha. As a newer woodworker if it wasn't square at that point all I would know to do is curse haha. What are some mediation tricks if you come to that point and you're not square or are you just screwed?

    @daviddejulio863@daviddejulio863 Жыл бұрын
    • In this case, I could cut a slightly larger groove and put in an angled wedge to get it back to square when I did the dry fit. However, I would have checked that my miter gauge was square to my blade after I made my first test cut before I cut all the joinery.
