But after drinking coffee every day for an extended period of time the caffeine doesn't give you the same jolt it used to. So What happens to your body if you take a break from drinking coffee? • If you want to quit coffee, switch to half caffeine coffee. After a week, reduce the amount of half caff for another week before quitting all together. This will avoid the worse withdraw symptoms.

I stand by quitting caffeine and the good thing about it is there are a lot of caffeine free products. (update: I haven't had caffeine in 9 months, still worth it) (Update 2: I Hadn't had caffeine for over a year until I started a new job and started drinking it again, I quit again and It has improved everything yet again)

My sleep has improved tremendously and I wake up feeling energised and ready to tackle the day. My work productivity has dramatically increased. My mind clarity is like never before. I feel calm, relaxed and happier in general. I highly recommend anyone reading this to take the plunge and quit caffeine and see how it goes. I can almost guarantee you will have the same reaction as I have and will make a positive decision of quitting this drug. Ps. I do still consume cacao which I believe has some trace elements of caffeine in it, but nowhere near what Coffee has and I still feel amazing whilst enjoying chocolate.😋😋😋

I went eight weeks with headaches before they subsided, but you are not me and likely won't suffer so long. I drank soda, not coffee, and I quit because my teeth were being ruined by the stuff (I've had that issue since fixed as well, as it has been years since I quit soda). Cold turkey is a rough road, but I didn't even miss soda once the headaches were gone. Still don't. Hate coffee and tea, so since then it's just been water only.

I'm also fasting, only drinking water and herbal tea, no caffine or sugar. So i'm sure that contributes a bit. I planned on cold turkeying my marijuana consumption as well but given the headaches/body aches I caved. Maybe once I'm passed these caffine withdrawls and done with the fast I'll trying stopping the marijuana. Idk folks i'm pretty alarmed at how physically dependant I am on caffine. I've struggled with other drug addictions in the past, but those were "bad" drugs right? After withdrawl symptoms this bad i'm tempted to lump caffine in with the other "bad" drugs.

  • I stopped drinking coffee. I used to drink litres of coffee each day, from morning until I go to bed. It was hard. But it changed my life. It changed it more than quitting smoking or alcohol actually. Coffee was originally a way for employers to get more out of their staff. They’d give you 15 minutes and a drug so that you’d have higher productivity when you came back to work. I’ve even quit hard drugs and nothing had a better effect than quitting coffee. Not to mention I save thousands a year not buying a cup every 2 hours.

Coffee is a diuretic. What I wasn't prepared for is how much better I slept, and how much less I peed. I HAVE to stop. I might have pre-glaucoma and several other symptoms of too much caffeine. • This is exciting, I've quit before when I found I got TOO addicted, but would get back into it then simply reduce, but last time I quit, I had zero withdrawals and simply figured, 'see I wasn't addicted anyway,' and got back into moderate habit. I've not been able to shake my mild blood pressure rise so decided to commit to stopping this drug and hopefully also fix my light sleep/early awakening. I weened off appropriately it seems. No headaches or mood, but it was a struggle a couple times, then I went to donate blood last week and my non-medicated bp was excellent, confirming to stick out my intervention. Then today I needed that midday boost so decided to search the web and found more 'benefits to coffee,' like aging, Alzheimer's and health. Fortunately, I'm suspicious and figured the study was sponsored by Big Coffee. Meanwhile, this video portrays the phases and encourages my marching on. Just say no.

  • Quit caffeine in December 2021. Was having 5 protein shakes with coffee a day. Quit during my work holiday break and all I could do was legitimately sleep for 14 to 18 hours a day for a whole week. Felt like I was wired on caffeine for years and my body and brain, particularly my pineal gland needed the rest to catch back up. After the first month, it is great, no caffeine crashes, much calmer mood and steady. My focus is not anywhere near what it was, especially in the gym, I day dream a lot still but it isn't a bad thing, it is just different, I'd say more creative or artistic value in my mind instead of physical productivity. • PSA: At 4:18 - 4:22 in this video, the voiceover states that caffeine can reduce blood flow to the brain by 27% (which would mean only 73% of normal blood flow remains). The infographic played alongside this is a bar labeled "blood flow to the brain" draining from 100% to 27%, incorrectly implying the opposite of these numbers: 73% reduction and 27% remaining. On a side note, directly after this statement the video points out that quitting caffeine will reverse this effect (showing a 27% increase in blood flow) but percentages don't work like this. For an easy explanation of this, imagine you have 100 apples. If you lose 50% of these apples you'll be left with 50 apples. Then if your apple stocks increase by 50% afterwards, they will go up to 75, not 100.

I drank so much caffeine, that it didnt even made me feel awake anymore and then i just drank it to avoid those headaches. Once i had even problems with beeing so tired, that i was not even able to open my eyes anymore, cause it felt so bright. Probably also because of a big lack of sleep in the past. Since i stopped, i really had many positive effects. I can sleep way better and feel always awake in the morning with a good mood already. I switched from caffeine to some energybars (without caffeine) and Fruits / Vegtables to get energy. I wish that i would be also more alert without caffeine when i play video games and stuff after a long day at work, but sometimes im just to tired then. I did experience tiredness for the first couple of days, but I switched to herbal teas as a replacement or just drink lots of water. I jittered as well, but I wasn't really into looking for coffee after though (as if I had a choice lol). When I did drink one time after feeling a little better, I kinda uhhh wanted to stop drinking lol. It tastes different to me after a few days of not drinking, so I just stopped slowly. Ngl, it made my mind more clear with ideas, less anxious, got things done more at work and vivid dreams after nights of not having one! I have ADHD too, so I thought that would help my brain focus more at work, but it did the opposite for me. Now that I'm completely better from my stomach illness, I promised to keep it up like this and treat coffee as a treat on paydays, hangouts or weekends. Ether way, everyone works differently and it still been a very very interesting video, always loved your art style

      @Smattyy@Smattyy Жыл бұрын
    • @@Smattyy It was an interesting ride for sure. So, I stayed off caffeine for about 2 months. More than enough time to "reap the rewards" so to speak. What I noticed was this - I did not really feel all that more energetic and I don't believe that my sleep cycles were any better than normal. Despite this, I did feel overall less foggy, which was interesting. I did notice my teeth start to whiten back up for sure. I did not notice changes really in blood pressure or heart rate. The most interesting realization was this though - I have Tourette Syndrome and my tics got way worse off of caffeine. It was super noticeable and uncomfortable. I generally have a pretty minor case so flare ups are pretty prominent for me. I did end up going back on caffeine after all was said and done, and lo and behold, my tics subsided. I decided after all of it that I'm actually just happier with caffeine in moderation and choose to consume it.

    • @@Tstdamo1 Interesting. Thanks for sharing. My story is acctually somewhat the same except the tourettes. But I have some eye tics. I’ve been off caffeine/coffee for about 2 years but realized that I felt better on it, limited use. I wish you a happy life 😊

    • @@Smattyy Oh yeah. So, forgot to mention that too. I did have an eye twitch (NOT Tourette related) and it DID go away when I stopped. Totally back now, so that's definitely a downside to me being back on caffeine. And I hope you have a happy life too! Thanks for this interaction that shows me that KZhead comments don't always have to be a dumpster fire. A little faith in humanity restored here for me.

The following days have left me feeling fatigued and unusually tired but my sleep has begun to improve , the very reason why I stopped coffee , acute insomnia with very little sleep. It seems that over the years coffees negative effect on adequate sleep has increased .

  • I was on coffee for 30 years. Then last summer discovered by blood pressure was lethally hypertensive (like ‘why hasn’t your head exploded’ level). One of the first things to stop was my caffeine intake. Thankfully the heart med I was taking actually prevented withdrawals. I just do decaf now, although I jacked up the amount of coffee grounds so it still tastes like regular.

Probably 2 coffee per day bring me some anxiety, but on the other hand, with coffee my concentration is better. I think everything is in moderation. Coffee has some benefits for our health.

  • Coffee is ingrained into every community known to man, like the health community, the minimalist community, the student community etc. It's in consumerism, in every supermarket and home goods store, on a mug with a sign saying 'I am not me before coffee' or slogan cushions. There are more coffee places in just one city to chose from than we could visit in a year.

  • I don’t and never will drink coffee, however I do drink Mountain Dew. That’s got lots of caffeine. I’m almost out of cans at the moment of this comment’s writing. I usually have two dews a day. One at morning, the other at lunch. I’m curious to know what happens if I stop drinking that for a week, and if I choose to, a month. I’m also trying to watch what I eat and drink, so I’m choosing non sweetened drinks and less snacks in general. I’ll update this comment when I go a week without Mountain Dew. Update: It's been a week since I started my experiment, so in conclusion, there wasn't much difference for me. No real withdrawals, no bad side effects, not much happened. I guess since the caffeine content in Mtn Dew is far lower than coffee, there wasn't anything that my body really had to worry about.
