    • Andrew Shulz is a performer who really likes to get to know his audience, in order to make super-specific jokes that hit hard even though he's playful about it. Some comedians have sets they've worked on for months, some have the ability to make up a set in a few days, but I'm willing to bet he had spent time researching Hawaii and had the skeletons of at least a few jokes built before he ever touched down at the airport. He does a lot of free association with his audience, as well. Very professional, all in all.

    • I’ve wondered how the lack of Asian tourists will affect Kaori dieback in NZ. They go on lots of different bush walks, spreading the fungus further into the ecosystem, killing more kaori. I’m curious if ecologists will do research on how covid impacted that spread, and if it slowed it at all. I get wanting to have sites tourists can visit to bolster an economy, but when they’re contributing to the loss of an iconic native species, allowing these bushwalks without guides or any sort of monitoring of sites should really be reconsidered

    • Sorry that Europeans rolled up and made them stop eating each other and doing human sacrifice. If I were a European, I would have felt the same way. And their hatred for outside people hasn’t stopped them from being total welfare queens and enjoying every Japanese, Chinese, American development that’s improved their island or their lives. They’re a bunch of hypocrites. We ran into some type of pettiness throughout our stay, too. Didn’t matter where we were. At one point in the parking lot of Chinaman’s Hat, a local was screaming and spitting in the faces of 3 70-80 year old female Japanese tourists that were trying to take pictures. Yelling “get off my land”. It was the most dishonorable thing I have ever seen. The land is nice. Hawaiians on the other hand need to get a grip.
