  • Yes, I've used the boiling water trick, with success. I've also turned on the defroster and cracked the windshield side to side. Also revving your engine against the rev-limiter to save 30 seconds of scraping is likely to cost you like $400 per time. You might get 10 chances at this before your $4000 engine blows up.

      @Amyr0492@Amyr04923 жыл бұрын
    • @@Amyr0492 You had luck but still you just reduced your engine life. Anyway new Audi has rev limiter much elier when engine is cold cuz people like you will break it down :P When oil is cold it can't be pumped fast enought to protect engine. You make pistons get high temp and they just swell but rest of engine is still cold and to tight for it. So engine have a problem and after few try engine will still working well but oil consumption will incrase or engine will just breaks down. Btw English is not my language so sorry if i wrote somethink wrong. I hope u will understand what im writing about ;)

      @E50AK@E50AK2 жыл бұрын
    • @@E50AK plus idling for more than 2-3 mins in the cold isnt good either, clearances in the motor are tighter, you have to get moving slowly and get that engine slightly under load and the oil pumping, idle isnt good enough in that weather

      @cloaked2562@cloaked25622 жыл бұрын
    • @@cloaked2562 if you have an oil pressure gauge you would know that idling is the best thing for your motor.... especially if it has a turbo. best thing you can do is try and keep the revs at low rpm while idling. unless you wanna blow a high pressure oil line then be my guest lol. seen it happen to fleet semi trucks all the time in winter. every cold day we would have we held our breath wonder who the next dumb guy to push it to the rev limiter immediately for 5 min str8. Detroit diesels are infamous for it cause of how narrow that line is. cummins for the very reason of having a bigger oil pressure line takes my win for winter...any other time its broke down for an aftertreatment issue...

    • @@nightmarezero8465 if you had an oil pressure gauge youd know that oil pressure goes up when you increase throttle that's why every engine increases idle when you start it, it's to get oil to the top and other bank of the motor.....not sure why you blew up everything i said, this is an N/A car, I never specified.....
