    • We had guys like that in the press room, they useully didn't last a week. Honestly you can't have someone that naive working around heavy macharinary because One careless mistake could cost someone there life. My uncle owned a very large machine shop, both cnc and conventional machines. This guy he hired from haundurs Had been drinking on the job he was turning a very large part on the lathe with tight tolerances, but he was using a divider you use on wood lathe to measure the outside dia with the lath running. 6 other lathes in a line operator to back of lathe. I turned his ass in. He got fired on the spot. Im not running machines around a drunk, but deffently not around a drunk fool. If the divider was grabbed by the spinning part at 32k rpm it go into the face of the guy behind him. Nope don't work around fools. The shop is not a playground. Id fire anyone of a number of the guys on this. You can't teach stupidity out.

Here, at last, after hundreds of thousands of 10 sockets have faded to other worlds, one have come back from heaven. This story only applies to the 10 socket. =» it's not about some random holy socket . It's about the 10 coming back !!! *** Reality is that 10 is the second most used socket after 17, but, the 10 is much smaller and easy to loose, and usually required when discounting things that are PITA, so you focus so hard on your PITA that you just forget where you put things. It's also the socket you discover the fastest you lost, because you need it very often. For example, if you loose the 14 or 18, you may catch it only months later. But 10, only minutes or hours. Some people loose more than 1 per week, every single week, since years.

  • I worked at a small car dealership years ago. One day, I was helping another mechanic with a rear wheel drive transmission. The bellhousing was stuck to the engine. He grabs the tail and jerks it hard. The truck rotated about 45 degrees. The idiot had put the rear lift arms on the sloped part of the frame. Got real lucky it didn’t fall and kill us both. That was the last time I ever went under a vehicle without thoroughly inspecting how it was lifted. I may be paranoid, but I'm also still alive.

  • 1:05 I shouldn't be laughing at that, but Warner Brothers couldn't make a cartoon funnier than that. 1:47 I could tell from the first second that there was something very wrong with the way those arms were situated. Please tell me this was at a do-it-yourself facility, and that the motard lift operator was the owner of that truck. 'Cause if it wasn't and he wasn't, there's got to be a very unamused owner outside there. 2:17 Looks like a Chris Tucker quotable is appropriate here... 4:52 "No way, I'M next! Hurry up and change my oil, you serfs! While you're at it, put in a new radiator." 6:22; 7:52 I reiterate my hopeful guess, that these motard lift operators were the owners of the now-trashed cars, at a do-it-yourself garage...?

  • I tried to tell y'all & I'm gonna keep on telling y'all . Toolboxes are top-heavy . Turn the wheels inward so you have more wheel base vs outward making it even more top-heavy . Because Toolboxes are more prone to falling forward or backwards , it's good to have them pointed towards each other and not in a diagonal .

    • Pointing the wheels inwards towards each other just makes the base narrower making tipping easier. The wheels should be pointed to the outside away from each other. This makes the wheel base wider and less likely to tip. But it makes little difference.
