Orchha is a historic town in Madhya Pradesh, India, founded in 1531. It is renowned for its remarkable blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture, presented in ornate palaces, temples, and cenotaphs. Orchha was at the heart of many prominent royal dynasties for nearly 300 years.
The historic ensemble of Orchha is listed on the Tentative List of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

  • I've been investigating since more than one year the history of Middle East and India but i didn't hear about Orchha,these temples are very beautiful and it was became in a princely state under the rule of Rudra Pratap Singh Bundela,he was the first raja,the mughals took Orchha led by Aurangzeb,governor of the Mughal empire that lasted from 1526 to 1857.

    • Lasted till 1707, Later Hindustan(translation: Hindu Land) under Mughal became vassal to Maratha (Hindavi Swaraj)(translation: Hind's Confederacy) , Maratha & Mughal signed mutual treaties in later 18th century when Maratha kept Mughal at the throne of Delhi as titular ruler after expelling invading afghan with the help of Sikhs, whereas Maratha Peshwa (PM) was more important position.
