I remember reading the comments of a German professor who lived through the war. When the Jewish people were targeted he felt it didn't concern him; likewise when the handicapped and minority groups were the victims he did nothing. Then his turn came and there was no help!
The difference in those days, you read or listen on the radio the war news and the coverage was subject to censorship. There are an estimated 20,000 foreign fighters in Ukraine and growing by the day. Most are former soldiers from European and US/Canadian armies. I almost felt sorry for the Russian troops as much as I did the Ukrainian people at the start if the war. They have no idea what they were being sent into by their mafia masters. But after the liberation of Bucha and those terrible scenes of slaughtered civilians, that has changed.
I had sympathy for the Russian soldiers too, until I saw the barbaric killings and rapes taking place. I know this is not all of them, but it reflects badly. It seems that some really enjoy the killing.

Once a spy’s alias is blown they can’t really work in the field anymore. It’s well known that the vast majority of people working at embassies and consulates general are spies. The last time I can recall the US Gov’t outing spies was at the end of Obama’s second term when he expelled Russian diplomats from DC.
