  • A desoldering gun is the single most useful tool for electronics repair. It's not only useful for removing through-hole components but just as useful for surface mount ones too. If you ever tried removing an smd from a ground plane, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

    • Can also be a major pain in the whole shop. The desoldering guns are not all equal and that hot solder being sucked up sticks inside gun , very badly for some guns.

    • I find it interesting you're watching a video about desoldering and you don't own a soldering gun. I've owned mine for about a month now by the way. I may be new to the game but I'll make a name for myself. You'll see kid. Incase you haven't gotten a gun yet (soldering gun), I'd like to make a suggestion. It really depends on what you're intending to solder. If I may take a guess, you're not planning to do a mega huge soldering project, therefore I'd say to do your pockets a favor and buy the least expensive 75w 'er gun on the shelf. That's what I always tell the new-Bs. Fun fact: I bought mine at Ace Hardware "Weller 75W Standard 7200". You take care now.

    • @@EricSepulvedaPeople tend to research topics before they dive right in. It helps you decide whether or not it is something you want to do. Especially if the topic is something that requires you to purchase new tools/equipment.
