Love the set up! I am all about the functional 😊 I can say on the weight loss that when you get to plateaus make sure you are keeping measurements and taking regular pictures! I keep mine in my planner so I see them regular. I lost 125lbs and the body dysmorphia and focus on the number can get bad. The visual helps you keep perspective. I’m so happy for you on both your planner and your weight loss journey 🎉
Thank you so much! Body dysmorphia is a problem for me. I do take measurements, maybe not in as many places as I should, but usually about once a month.
@@samplansI was rewatching this 🤣 and for your dailies what about printing the sides upside down and then you can just flip it over and stay on the right side to write. I hate writing on the left. I avoid it at all costs 😂
Gotta love a Filofax! Amazing for functional planning if experimenting with spreads and layouts. Malden is my favourite. ❤
Yes!
Lol, my entire set up has changed since the beginning of the year. I'm using nothing I started out with 🤷♀️, but much happier in personal rings and standard tn (EDC). I've also only kept out 2 or 3 covers for each size so I actually get use out of my collection. We'll see how it goes...
If you wanted, printing the plan with bee freebie but print "flip on short edge" is an option! That way if you flipped it over its top it will always be right side up on the right side. You could use the front side like normal, and then flip over the short/top side and use it again. (With the other page upside down, but maybe it's better than if it was blank?) Idk, completely up to you!
Yes, I had thought of that, but sometimes I just want a fresh start. 😅
Yes! I love the Malden too and the penloops drive me insane. I have it in A5, and it comes with two penloops, which would be great, but quite fast the edges of the leather inside the loop start bunching up.
Yes, it’s a design flaw for sure!
Great video-you sound very much at peace!! Lovely Malden, functional and attractive inserts. Congrats on the pen loop!! 😃
Thank you! It’s such an important piece to my planner! 😅
I just received my first Malden (navy) last week, which is also my first time trying personal rings! I’ve used rings in the past but not this size. It seems perfect. We shall see! We’ll go on this journey together 😊
Personal is pretty perfect. 🤩
I'm pleased for you; you know I always love Filofax Rings! So easy to stay organized and move stuff around whenever. Also you can use that other Malden to store extra printouts or layouts that you want to try. I do remember you from the olden days when you collected all the Filofax Personal in Original. I finally got an Original in navy (pocket). It's very nice. I have only 3 Filofax Pocket covers. I will probably get one more color/style down the road when they have their 20% off sale. With 4 different colours, it prevents boredom, I find. That was such a simple solution btw, to order a new Malden and it fixed your pen problem. Love it.
I never have tried the Original in pocket…I was so afraid it wouldn’t hold PP inserts! And yes, that gorgeous Original collection was so pretty to look at!
I just got a filofax personal from Amazon's warehouse sale. It's the first I've owned and I was willing to send it back but it was perfect.
Yay!!!
Ohhh Sam. 😉 Pen loop peace! Thanks for sharing.
Right?!
I hit pay dirt with the charcoal special pen loop too, some of the new ones seem to be better for that
Nice!
Oh. I have a tip! If I want an insert, like an Inbox, to always be on the right hand side, I print the other side upside down, that way I can just flip it when I need to.
Yes!
This video totally had me digging out my personal malden to play with :D probably not going to use ut though, just tinker a bit. The printing and cutting process with inserts is a bit intense for me 😅
It can be a lot!
I love my a6 since pocket was my fave. I might save for a custom pocket from vds. But we shall see.
They are so lovely, but the wait is what I’m always too impatient for!
Oh my, I just ordered a Malden from Amazon. Hopefully, I have the same luck as you did 😅
I hope you do too! I also ordered a black, and that was a bust, unfortunately.
I got my Malden today and I had good luck! It’s very nice. Thank goodness 😅
@jenifermerrill yay!!!
Hi Sam ! Can you link whuch Tombow markers you use !
Congrats on the new setup. You sound happy about it-which is no small thing!! Can you swap the rings from your old Malden to the newer one to avoid the gap in the rings?
Nope, unless major planner surgery is attempted. 😅
for your ring gapping issue -- if you can't figure it out, maybe you could swap out the rings from old cover to your new one? they're just attached by screws, and there are lots of tutorials online :)
You can do that pretty easily with a Moterm, but not a Filofax unfortunately.
I find Moterm rings incredibly unwieldy except pocket/mini sizes. Same for VDS ready to ship. Filofax, LV and Mulberry are less bulky when compared (I don’t need all the Moterm extra features). Love the Malden. I now have the zipped personal rings combo and was disappointed it’s not like the other Maldens, it’s more stiff and structured inside the leather cover. I had expected it to be pliable and soft like yours or my pocket rings.
This Malden isn’t as “soft” and pliable as some other Maldens I’ve had for sure. I think the leather has changed.
Hello! New subscriber here 😊 I love the agenda color! I’m new to planning and find planner size perfect. Is this the Malden in the size A5?
Hi Sam! I truly enjoy your videos and relate to so much you express. What printer do you use? I’m new to rings and want to be able to print my own.
Well, we recently switched printers from one we’d had for around 15 years. Unfortunately, it has not been my favorite and I won’t recommend. I would make sure to get one that can print front to back easily. Duplex all in one printers are good choices. My current one is needing cleaned frequently and eats vellum. 😡
Thank you so much for the advice! ❤
I am so glad you pens fit in the pen loop!!! I know that has been such a bone of contention for you for years with Filofax. Are you going to use your Personal zip organizer as well, or are the rings to small?
For how I’m using it right now, it’s a bit small. But you never know what will happen next week or next month. 😂
FCC inserts are my peace. The inserts don't work for me with Filofax, though. They fit great for me in my Gillio Medium Compagna and my Moterms.
I use at a glance size 3 day on two page inserts that are similar to FCC and they are personal sized! Definite peace here for me also. :)
Oh my! A Malden with a real pen loop!
Yes!!
To celebrate catching up on your videos… I made two purchases today that were 100% influenced by you 😂 I bought a 2024 Hemlock & Oak daily planner (30% off 🎉) AND I splurged on a PLG medium crossbody tote in nutmeg!!!! I used your link for 30% off 🥰 however… now seeing you so content in rings… I’m really considering trying rings for functionality 😅 with freebie inserts. If I can find the time lol. We shall see.
Oh yay!! Nutmeg is my favorite pebbled leather!!! And I’m always backing a planner purchase! 🫶🏻
I'm sooo sad that Portland Leather Goods do not ship to Germany 😢.
I get scared moving between planners especially sizes etc because then I have to transfer the info over and I never know how to archive what I've done so far and I'm stressed about waste. How do you manage that side of switching sizes/planner styles? Do you prefer rings?
I often hop between ring sizes and the Hobo Weeks most frequently. So I’m not concerned about waste as much, because o hang onto most things and assume I’ll be back to that size at some point. 😅
The black bag trumps last months. Simply because I don’t have to worry about stray marks!
I know you are in a plateau but your hands are looking amazing. They are so skinny!!! You are doing a great job. And I love your planner too!
Thank you! 70 pounds is still a lot of weight! I just need it to start coming off again. 😅
@@samplansThat IS a lot. And plateaus are completely normal, it's basically your body figuring out what to do next. Some pounds are harder to shake off than others and it's not unusual to l0se we1ght in sprints or bursts and then stagnate for months as your body readjusts. These are big changes and our system needs to adapt. 😊 Huge congrats on your progress, I hope you feel as awesome about it as it sounds.
I ordered malden ochre from amazon it seems like a reject from someone :( Its darker than i expected. I think there is slight gaping too
It’s a definite gamble when ordering a Filofax from Amazon!
Where did you purchase your dividers from?
Peanuts Planner Co for the frosted ones.
What about the downloadable ones?@@samplans
@plannin_anxiety les minimal
I thought I was the only planner hopper
Definitely not!
Gapping in rings is something I can not deal with.
I totally get it.
Blacklist is back! Final season...
Yeah…I paid $30 on Amazon prime to watch it and finished in January. I will watch it all again. I love that show so much!
If you want to sale your old Malden. I am interested. Love your videos always!
Thank you! I think I’m going to hang onto it for a bit!
O-Hi-O❤

Our bodies cannot be in a deficit all the time. Maybe eat at maintenance for awhile and then try dropping calories again. This is from educated ph.d’s I follow, not me being an armchair dietician 😂
You know, I have no idea how many calories I’ve been eating in a day, but there may have been some deficit times for sure. I’ve been eating pretty simply, and maybe not enough some days. Thanks for the reminder.
